Grand City Hall

9.4/10
Amazing

Grand City Hall Medan is a genuinely impressive hotel and one of the better luxury stays in Medan. From the moment you arrive, you can immediately tell that this is a true five-star property. The lobby is constantly busy and lively, yet everything feels organised and well controlled. Despite the number of guests coming and going, the hotel maintains a polished and professional atmosphere. The room was excellent and easily one of the highlights of the stay. It was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. Having access to the indoor pool added an extra touch of luxury and made the experience feel even more premium. The amenities provided were of good quality and reflected the hotel’s upscale positioning. The facilities are another strong point. The swimming pool is spacious and inviting, while the gym is large, well-equipped, and has everything needed for a proper workout. The hotel’s location is also fantastic, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and places of interest within walking distance, making it convenient for both leisure and business travellers. Breakfast offers a very large selection of dishes, with plenty of local and international options available. While the variety is impressive, the taste of most items was simply decent rather than exceptional. There is certainly something for everyone, but the food itself doesn’t quite reach the same high standard as the rest of the hotel experience. Unfortunately, we experienced an accident during breakfast service. To the hotel’s credit, the staff handled the immediate situation quite well. We were promptly moved to another table and complimentary coffees were provided, which was appreciated. However, it felt like the incident should have been escalated further to management, where a more meaningful service recovery could have been considered. That said, the incident did not significantly affect our overall impression of the hotel. The quality of the rooms, facilities, and overall experience still stood out. Grand City Hall Medan delivers the comfort, amenities, and level of service expected from a five-star property, and it remains a hotel that I would happily recommend to anyone visiting Medan.

Grand Sakura Hotel Medan is a comfortable and convenient place to stay, especially for families visiting the city. Located in a strategic area in the center of Medan, the hotel provides easy access to shopping centers, restaurants, and transportation hubs, making it very practical for travelers with children. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TV, minibar, and free Wi-Fi, ensuring a relaxing stay for all guests. One of the highlights of the hotel is its friendly and helpful staff who are always ready to assist guests with their needs. The hotel also offers several facilities that families can enjoy together, including restaurants serving Indonesian and international dishes, a fitness center, sauna, and entertainment options such as karaoke. Families will appreciate the daily breakfast buffet with a variety of menu options that suit both adults and children. Very friendly service at checkin and around the lobby. Room service does a very good job but the towels are worn and not very fresh, desperately need replacing. Only 2x towels are given, plus a floor mat. Nothing else. Feels like a 3-4 star hotel with budget level amenities. Pity.

The jacuzzi, steam room and pool are a little worn down but the gym is huge and the spa is nice. The room itself was really comfortable and well-kept. Also, the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from DeliPark Mall Medan, which is a huge mall. All in all, I would stay here again if I visit Medan again in the future.

Things I like: The bed, shower and cozyness of the room. Water supply (hot water) and air circulation in the bathroom - closet have no smell at all, As well as the fact that they provide a free parking space for the guest who brings car, Things I love: Breakfast menu...... more than enough options, all of those foods I ate are delicious (If not super delicious), Provision of drinking water with a water dispenser As well as the staffs hospitality - top notch... Things I dont really like: TV program, nothing interesting for me and not useful at all Too less power outlet and the fact that there is too small table for the kettle and water bottle.....

The Hotel is super good .. Everything are amazing.. But we face a scamming that we opened our safe to arrange some documents and cash then the housekeeping team arrived to cleanup … So i let them enter the room for cleaning but I didn’t close the safe since we are in the room in that time. The safe located inside the closet the one you can walk in .. After they finished the cleaning We find 200 USD from our cash in the safe .. The cleaning team put the new laundry bag right on the top of the safe (in that time it was open) and now body noticed us that the safe is open …!!! I submitted a complaint to the front office of the hotel …!!! And i I described the cleaning staff to them exactly, and who was the person who entered the wardrobe containing the safe...!!! They said they would investigate the incident, and after two days they contacted me again saying they had questioned the cleaning staff, who denied taking anything from our safe...!!! And of course, we didn't find anything... which is obvious because no one would confess in this way without being pressured. And here's the question: why didn't the cleaning staff warn us that the safe was open when they went in to put the new laundry bag on top of it?

The apartment is very spacious, which makes it a great choice, especially for family gatherings. The room was very clean, and the price is very reasonable for the size and value offered. However, the apartment would benefit from some updates, as the mattresses feel quite soft and old. Replacing the mattresses, pillows, and blaket would significantly improve comfort and make the stay even better. Overall, this is a good place for families looking for a spacious and affordable stay, and with a few upgrades to the bedding, it would be perfect.

Good hotel if you have an early flight the next day. The hotel is clean. There are small cafes and restaurants around the hotel and a small supermarket, which is very convenient. Plus, there's a free shuttle to the airport, which is a real bonus!

This is our first stop in Berastagi. Hotel is old, room is also old and there are ants around. It is normal for hotels in Berastagi to not have aircon due to the weather and we are so grateful that the hotel does provide a fan. Even though Berastagi's weather is cooling, we still need the fan for a good air circulation, so we are happy that the hotel does provide the standing fan on our request. We had dinner in the restaurant in the hotel and we were greeted by a friendly cat. We are cat lovers so we really enjoy her companion. Food is decent. Overall our 1 day stay in Sibayak is pleasant because of the customer service. Just hope they can consider to renovate the hotel and make it new, especially the bathroom.
