The Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan) preserves the ruins of its past, a testament to foreign invasion. It's easy to imagine its former splendor and grandeur. The tour guide explained that the reason it's no longer restored is to ensure future generations remember the painful lessons of history—a truly regrettable situation.

Riding a beach buggy on the sand, the wind howls, making your hair fly wildly, sand splashes up and hits your legs, cool and refreshing. Driving along the coastline, watching the waves follow you, gazing at the horizon where the sky meets the sea... Let's start again: Riding a beach buggy on the sand, the wind howls, making your hair fly wildly, sand splashes up and hits your legs, cool and refreshing. Driving along the coastline, leaving a long trail of sand behind you, waves crashing and wetting the tires, salty seawater splashing on your face, driving to the edge of a big wave and then turning around—it's thrilling and exhilarating, so much more comfortable than being cooped up in a car.

If you're traveling with kids, this place is a must-see, but it's also great without kids! It's the best option on a weekday; there are no lines, and all the slides are accessible. There's also a water park (for a separate fee, only available for that part). In short, we loved it.

The Badaling entrance has a very beautiful view, and there weren't many people there. We were lucky. The climbs are steep in places, and the section isn't long enough for walking. In my opinion, the time allotted (we were given four hours) was excessive, as you can't go very far.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Masterpiece! A Must-See in China!Visiting the Badaling section of the Great Wall was an absolute dream come true, and it exceeded every single expectation I had! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the sheer scale and majesty of this ancient wonder. The views are absolutely breathtaking—pictures simply don't do it justice. Standing on the wall and looking out at the endless, rolling mountains was a truly spiritual and humbling experience. What made it even better was how incredibly well-maintained and accessible this section is. The facilities are top-notch, making it easy for everyone to enjoy, whether you're an avid hiker or just want to soak in the history. We took the cable car up, which was a smooth and fun ride offering spectacular aerial views, and then we walked along the magnificent ramparts.
