I was worried about getting to the meeting place in the morning, but it was easy to find and I found it right away. I handed over the last four digits of my phone number and my passport to check in. The bus departed on schedule. On the bus, there was an explanation about the Great Wall, and we had to decide our own route and how to go up and down the wall. I was planning to take the cable car to Tower 14, head towards Tower 23, and come back down from Tower 6 using the slide, but since it was a public holiday, the guide recommended taking the cable car back from Tower 14 as well, so I bought a round-trip cable car ticket. There was no ticket; it was linked to my passport. As the guide explained, I took the shuttle bus to the cable car station and went up to the Great Wall. I reached the top of the Great Wall around 10:30. I walked towards Tower 23. Up to Tower 19, it was crowded, but the path was relatively easy to walk. After passing Tower 19, it became a steep staircase, and it felt more like mountain climbing. It took about two hours to reach Tower 20. The steep stairs continued beyond Tower 20, so we decided to turn back. The return trip to Tower 14 took about an hour. Our bus back was at 3 PM, so we still had some time and decided to head towards Tower 6 from Tower 14. This path was relatively easy to walk, and we made it to Tower 10. If you're not confident in your physical fitness, I think it's better to aim for Tower 6 from the start. We returned to Tower 14 from Tower 10 and took the cable car. The guide on the bus was right to recommend the round-trip cable car. The area below the Great Wall is a tourist area and there were no inconveniences. You might regret going to the Great Wall if you're expecting a hike, but it's an experience to see historical structures and walk along it, so I think it's worth going at least once.

- 🚆To get to Tiantan Dongmen Station, simply take the Airport Express, change to Subway Line 5, and get off.
- 🕒 It takes approximately 1 to 1.2 hours.
- 🌳 There's a feeling about the large open parks, lovely halls, and tai chi practitioners.
💡 Hint: See the villagers playing traditional instruments, stretching, or dancing in the morning.

A magnificent place, beautiful gardens, more or less crowded, but it doesn't bother you. A must-see in the Chinese capital. If you're lucky, Chinese children will come up to you to ask a few questions and might even give you a gift.

An imposing structure of striking beauty and quality of finish. The temple building rises above a vast park and is situated on a three-tiered circular pedestal. From the moment you enter the park, you'll notice this marvel of ancient Chinese engineering. The park is very large; you could spend half a day wandering around. Also on the grounds is an echo wall that actually works—come and see for yourself—and a second round three-tiered pedestal—a pyramid, but without the building.
