What Do You Actually Get with Emirates Dubai Connect?
The layover package by Emirates Dubai Connect is really a great bonus. It's not just for a hotel. They cover more such as rich food, free transportation, and even your visa. Here's what you will get for free:
1. Free stay at a quality hotel
Depending on your cabin class, Emirates will book you in a 4- or 5-star hotel, like the five-star Le Méridien Airport Hotel or the four-star Copthorne Hotel. After a long flight, being able to crash on a comfy bed and take a hot shower feels so nice.
2. Meals included
It also gives you free meal vouchers. The hotel provides breakfast, lunch, or dinner depending on your check-in time. From classic American breakfast to Middle Eastern dishes, it covers your meals and saves you a lot of money.
3. Dedicated shuttle service
Emirates runs a 24-hour free shuttle bus to take you between the airport and the hotel.
4. Free Dubai visa / transit permit
Emirates will fully cover your transit visa. Even if your passport normally requires a visa, as long as you qualify for Dubai Connect, they’ll handle it for you at the airport.
5. Exclusive airport lounge
Emirates has a dedicated Dubai Connect desk and lounge in the arrivals hall. You can relax on comfortable sofas and enjoy free drinks and Wi-Fi while you wait.
Who Is Eligible for a Free Dubai Connect Stay?
To qualify for Emirates’ free Dubai layover hotel, your ticket must meet three strict requirements:
1. Layover must be between 6 and 26 hours
Whether you’re flying Economy, Premium Economy, Business, or First Class, your stop in Dubai must be at least 6 hours but no longer than 26 hours.
2. Layover must be the “shortest unavoidable” option
For example, if there’s a flight to your final destination at 2 PM (3-hour layover) and another at 11 PM (12-hour layover), you cannot deliberately choose the 11 PM flight just to spend more time in Dubai. Only the shortest necessary connection qualifies.
3. Must be a single ticket meeting minimum fare requirements
Your entire journey must be booked under the same PNR (one itinerary) and issued on an Emirates ticket starting with 176. Very low discounted fares may not qualify. The system could flag them as ineligible.
Common Questions from U.S. Travelers
- Age requirement: Solo travelers must be at least 18 years old. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to stay at the hotel.
- Visa info: U.S. passport holders get visa-free entry to Dubai (Visa on Arrival), so checking in at the hotel is smooth and hassle-free.
How to Book Emirates Dubai Connect for a Layover?
Booking Emirates’ free Dubai layover hotel is super simple. Once you’ve bought your ticket, you can do it directly through the Emirates website or its official app.

Go to the Emirates website or app, click “Manage Your Booking”, and log in using your last name and Booking Reference (PNR).
Step 2: Find and select the Dubai Connect option
Under Travel Services or at the bottom of your itinerary card, look for the “Dubai Connect” section.
Step 3: Confirm and add the free hotel service
The system will automatically lock in your hotel and meal vouchers based on your connecting flight times. Simply check the boxes to confirm for yourself and any travel companions.
Step 4: Download/print your confirmation voucher
Once booked, you’ll receive a Dubai Connect Voucher via email. It’s best to either print it out or save it on your phone (Apple Wallet or photo gallery).
