The hotel opened in 1969 and was renovated in 2011. To be honest, it is indeed a bit dated, but considering how space is at a premium in Hong Kong, the room is actually quite spacious. Facing the main road, the room was surprisingly quiet at night with virtually no noise.
Despite its age, the service really deserves a special shoutout! We arrived quite late, and the young lady from Hunan at the front desk who checked us in was extremely warm and welcoming, speaking standard Mandarin the entire time. After checking in, when the housekeeping lady saw the bottled water we bought, she kindly told us that buying water outside is expensive and that if we needed more, just to let her know and she would bring it to the room (and sure enough, from the second day onwards, we had two extra bottles of water in our room [Shy][Shy]).
We booked the breakfast this time. The selection isn't huge, but based on Hong Kong standards, I'd still recommend getting the breakfast included.
All in all, the hotel is definitely a bit old, but the location is truly great. If you prioritize location, price, and room size, it's worth a try~

The MTR station is a bit further to walk, but 6-8 minutes is acceptable. The room isn't very big, and the air conditioning is cold enough, though the temperature control isn't on the wall. Location: I visited Hong Kong many times, but this was my first time staying at Sai Ying Pun. It’s a very good location for one who wants to try authentic local food. The hotel is on the same level and quite close to the MTR station. Great for travelers with suitcases. Also, there is a tram station just down the block.
Hotel: The stay was decent. There is a Small swimming pool on the roof (only works in summer) And a very small gym. Also, they have free luggage storage. But even though there are four elevators, I’d always have to wait. The lobby is on the fifth floor, and there’s a decent lounge area with fast WiFi and normal tables (good for work). I did not try their food, I think it is much better to go down and eat in local cafes. When leaving hotel one can turn right, pass the McDonald’s and turn right again in the end of that block. There are a couple of authentic local tea shops and a nice local bakery. Uphill and on the way to the metro there are western style cafés.
Room: As always in Hong Kong, the room was small. I had two suitcases and only the smaller one could fit on the floor. Mini fridge had two cans of complementary water, but only for the first day. And the only water machine I could find was in the gym. Also, hotel does not provide toothbrushes and etc. They are sold separately in the vending machine on the Ground floor. The room seemed clean, the water pressure was very strong, And staying on the 27th floor I had a very good view. But some towels were not clean. Also double bed was 2 single beds combined.
Staff: first thanks to Yoyo, Hemmit and Gary for helping me combining 2 of my bookings so I didn’t have to change my room. The service was good. The staff was helpful, the cleaners were invisible and came every day. Security were nice too.
Overall, as I said, it was decent. But not a stay to remember

We stayed in room 4303 on the first night. The room itself was okay, with no strange smells, and the bedding was odorless as well. However, the bathroom cleanliness was very poor; there was mold on the floor and ceiling, and the shower area had rusty iron spots right where you step. For the second night, we were originally assigned room 7009. The moment I opened the door, I couldn't stay for even a second—the smell of mold was overwhelming. We were then moved to room 5503, which still had a moldy odor, though thankfully the bedding was fine. The bathroom, however, was even worse, reeking of urine. The place was packed with tour groups, and since I really didn't want to hassle with moving again, I just disinfected things myself and went to sleep. We checked out and left by 8:00 AM the next morning. I will never choose this hotel again; I've had non-stop sneezing since I got back because the mold smell was just too strong.From$126

We were extremely satisfied with our stay! My friend and I originally booked a Sea View Room, but decided to pay an extra fee at the front desk to upgrade to a Deluxe Sea View Room. The view was expansive and absolutely stunning, and the room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was also quite large, featuring both a shower and a bathtub. The front desk staff were polite and helpful whenever we had questions. The infinity pool is a must-visit—we were pleasantly surprised to find a heated jacuzzi there, and watching the sunset and evening glow from that spot was pure bliss! The location, environment, decor, and cleanliness all exceeded my expectations; I was very satisfied with everything. The small size of the room is unavoidable and understandable given the prime location.
The hotel's location is close to Times Square, and there's a market and hawker center not far downstairs, making it very convenient for eating and shopping. Bus stops are also very close, within tens or hundreds of meters, making it easy to get to various attractions.
The room is equipped with bath towels, disposable slippers, and a hairdryer. The front desk can lend one universal adapter per room, but it's on a first-come, first-served basis. The front desk is on the third floor, and check-in was very simple.
Among hotels of similar location, type, facilities, and equipment, this one offers excellent value for money. I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again next time and have already recommended it to friends.

This was my second visit to Hong Kong. On my second day, I stayed here to visit Hong Kong Disneyland. The environment was lovely. You absolutely must try the downstairs 'cha chaan teng' (ice room) – it's incredibly close and delicious. In the evening, I also went to Victoria Peak. Getting to Disneyland from here by MTR was super convenient, taking only 20-30 minutes. The bed was quite large, easily accommodating an adult and a child. Highly recommended.From$94

I book this hotel every time I visit Hong Kong. At first, I was drawn to it because no deposit is required, but for this price range in Hong Kong, it really offers great value for money. It's tucked away in a quiet spot right in the bustling center, with super convenient transportation.
The staff, from the front desk to the floor attendants, are all super nice. Even when I had done my research but was still unsure about something, whoever I asked would reply so gently, patiently guide me, and immediately pull out their phone to check and confirm 👍🏻. Definitely giving this a manual 5-star rating!!
A small suggestion though: during this stay, I faintly smelled a hint of mildew, and there were some stray hairs on the carpet...
