The hotel's overall environment is decent, and the staff's service attitude is very good. The follow-up specialist's service was also excellent [rose emoji]. The location is extremely convenient, with a shopping mall right across the street, making it easy to get around and shop. The hotel offers complimentary coffee, although the taste is a bit bland.
The only minor drawback is that the room facilities are a bit old and the decor style feels dated, giving it an old-fashioned hotel vibe. It might be more suitable for older travelers. Excellent location near to Grandview Mall. The hotel is very comfortable with fully equipped kitchen and washer. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are also spacious and clean. The reception at level 15 helps to collect our parcels and the security at level 1 helps to keep a look out for our digi. The location is excellent, and the front desk staff were quite welcoming. My flight was delayed, so I didn't arrive until after midnight, but they kindly extended my check-out time, which I really appreciated. The room size was decent, and there were many foreign guests staying. However, the hotel facilities are a bit old. I was taking a shower when three or four staff members knocked on my door asking if I had been smoking and triggered the smoke alarm. It was truly speechless. We had a wonderful stay at Fraser Suites Guangzhou and would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit.
We specifically chose this location because we knew Guangzhou would be extremely hot during the day, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The hotel is surrounded by several shopping malls, restaurants, and plenty of indoor attractions, making it easy to explore the city while staying comfortable. The location is incredibly convenient and was ideal for our family.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional concierge service. We had quite a few packages delivered during our trip, and the concierge team was always happy to receive them on our behalf and arrange for them to be delivered to our room. Their efficiency, professionalism, and willingness to help made our stay so much easier and more enjoyable.
The suites were spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay after busy days of shopping and sightseeing.

Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Zhengjia Plaza Review: Excellent Location, but Service Details Need Significant Improvement
Hotel Location: Prime business district, convenient but prone to traffic jams
The hotel's location is truly excellent, situated right next to Zhengjia Plaza on Tianhe Road. Stepping out, you're seamlessly connected to a bustling commercial area, making shopping, strolling, and dining incredibly convenient. However, precisely because it's in a core business district, the surrounding traffic is bound to be congested during peak hours. Whether driving or taking a taxi, the last few hundred meters can take a considerable amount of time. It's advisable to factor in extra time and check traffic conditions upon arrival.
Hotel Environment: Well-equipped, but cleanliness details need improvement
The hotel generally offers the comfort expected of a standard five-star establishment. The decor and facilities are well-maintained and function smoothly without issues. Disappointingly, however, the room's cleanliness was rather mediocre. Dust was visible on obvious surfaces like the bedside table (see photos), which is quite detrimental to the stay experience for a five-star hotel.
Hotel Facilities: Comprehensive, meeting daily needs
All of the hotel's hardware facilities worked well. The comprehensive amenities met guests' daily rest and leisure needs. Although some areas might show a slight sense of age, the overall maintenance was good, with no facility malfunctions or inconveniences.
Hotel Service: Low efficiency, attitude needs improvement
This was the most critical area for improvement during this stay. Firstly, check-in efficiency was extremely low. Arriving at 3 PM, a twin room was still not available. Even after asking Trip.com customer service to expedite the process, we didn't receive the room key until 5 PM, severely disrupting our plans for rest. Secondly, the front desk staff's training was clearly inadequate; their arrogant attitude completely fell short of my consistent impression of Marriott staff being professional and enthusiastic, which was quite disappointing.
Hotel Dining: On par, highly recommended
The hotel's dining experience was outstanding and a major highlight of this stay. The buffet breakfast on the fifth floor offered a wide and diverse selection, catering to various tastes. The Chinese restaurant on the sixth floor not only had excellent dishes but also provided attentive and thoughtful service. The overall experience was superb and highly recommended.
Overall, I am satisfied with my comprehensive experience at this hotel, especially its impeccable location and excellent dining. However, I also hope the hotel addresses the existing issues, genuinely improves the front desk staff's attitude, enhances check-in efficiency, and strengthens control over room cleanliness. The room is very spacious, and the overall environment is excellent. The service attitude is superb, especially Front Desk Assistant Xiao Lin, who was very enthusiastic and kind. The only downsides are that the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are a bit dated. The air conditioner in our room was leaking, but Xiao Lin was incredibly helpful and quickly arranged a room change. However, the new room was quite noisy due to its proximity to the road and ongoing subway construction. The room had large windows. The breakfast leaned towards Western style; it wouldn't be worth it if paid for separately, especially compared to the excellent dim sum (Cantonese morning tea) readily available throughout Guangzhou. I loved this hotel. It feels sophisticated and elegant, and the staff are amazing — professional, helpful, and welcoming. The whole hotel has a very international atmosphere, which I really enjoyed.
Breakfast was excellent. I especially loved the Cantonese dishes, such as the wontons and changfen, but there was also a great variety of Western and Asian food, drinks, sweets, and other options. Everything felt fresh and high quality. Our room was cozy while still being spacious and comfortable, and even the bathroom essentials and amenities provided were noticeably high quality.
My only real disappointment was the pool. I was particularly looking forward to spending time there, but the sun disappears behind the building at around 11 a.m., so there is no direct sunlight in the afternoon. While the sunbeds and surrounding area are designed for relaxing, the pool itself is quite shallow and seems to be very family-oriented, with plenty of children and even swimming lessons taking place. So if relaxing by a sunny, peaceful pool is an important part of your stay, I probably wouldn't choose this hotel.
We also tried the dinner buffet. The food was good and there was plenty of variety, but at almost 700 RMB, I simply don't think it offers good value for money. I had high expectations because of the price, and while it was certainly nice, I have had equally good or better hotel buffets elsewhere for around half the price.
Overall, though, we had a wonderful and relaxing stay. I would definitely like to come back and try the Churchill Bar and afternoon tea next time. It's a great choice for a staycation or if you need to be in central Guangzhou and want somewhere comfortable and sophisticated to stay.FromTWD 6,150

Decided to take a spontaneous trip during the May Day holiday and looked into nearby resorts. Mulian Zhuang came highly recommended for its overall value for money, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived on the afternoon of the 30th, which helped us avoid the peak rush. From the parking attendant to the front desk staff and the shuttle bus driver, everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. The front desk kindly upgraded our room to one by the lake, which was incredibly comfortable and offered a more peaceful environment. The first day was a bit chilly, but lying on the balcony deckchair, listening to the birds and the sound of the water, was incredibly relaxing. It really helped us achieve our vacation goals, haha! The hotel itself is designed like a garden, with rooms scattered across the hillside, connected by small paths. This layout ensures minimal disturbance between guests. Taking a leisurely stroll around is lovely, and if you don't feel like walking, you can always 'call' for the park shuttle, which is very convenient. However, could the bed linen, living room pillowcases, and chair cushions be changed more frequently? They were a bit dirty; I didn't even dare to sit on them.

The hotel looked better in the pictures than in real life! Honestly, the overall environment was decent, and there were several pleasant surprises during our stay, like the afternoon tea included in our package and the fruit platter specially provided at the hot spring. However, the downside was the hotel staff's somewhat aggressive upselling. They offered us a room upgrade but wanted an additional 80 yuan per hot spring tub (even though the room I booked already had a private tub!). Also, we had to pay extra for our child exceeding the limit, and this was only for a single entry (a multi-entry pass cost over 100 yuan per person, with no discount for hotel guests). What was even funnier was that each room was limited to 4 bottles of mineral water. We took 5 bottles the first night because we needed more water after using the hot spring, and then they wouldn't give us any more the next day! On checkout day, I wanted to take two bottles of water, but the front desk didn't even have any. Oh well, it's not like we're desperate for those two bottles. I finally had to interrupt their enthusiastic chat to ask if someone else or the check-in desk could register my car plate. After waiting for a long time and seeing no end to their conversation, and with my one-year-old getting restless, I went to the check-in counter to ask if they could help with the car plate. It was then that a nearby check-in staff member took us back to the concierge desk, where someone there *did* register my car plate. I was utterly confused! Turns out, it *was* possible. So, is concierge service only reserved for foreign guests, and we don't even deserve a smile? He knew I had a baby and had been waiting for almost ten minutes, yet he was completely indifferent. This is hard to assess... The hotel facilities and cleanliness were fine. The doorman when we left was very enthusiastic. The breakfast, to be honest, was really just mediocre! The French toast was alright, but the rest was truly unremarkable... especially the waffles, which were hard and unappetizing, and the eggs were very average. In the luxury hotel landscape of Guangzhou, Jumeirah has always been a understated player. It doesn't perch atop Guangzhou like Rosewood or Four Seasons, dominating with commanding tower views, nor does it possess the trending ambiance or master designs of Park Hyatt or Mandarin Oriental. Yet, without vying for attention, it consistently garners many excellent reviews.
I found its overall appeal to be comprehensive, warm, and attentive. I booked a unique duplex suite, but upon arrival at 4 PM, no room was immediately available. Instead of making me wait, the front desk immediately offered an upgrade to a two-level higher, Guangzhou Tower View Executive Suite. This initial upgrade was a pleasant surprise. James from the hotel explained their service philosophy to me, and I truly felt that sense of care and service dedication towards guests.
My 03-ending tower view suite was very spacious and well-laid out. The tower view was glimpsed through the gaps of the APM building, offering a somewhat veiled, 'pipa half-hidden' charm compared to a direct view of the Canton Tower. While the room's design isn't as distinct as MO or Rosewood, it prioritizes comfort, featuring wood, lattice, and orange accents that are still very appealing and comfortable.
The service was a highlight. From the doormen, lobby staff, front desk, to housekeeping, everyone was polite and smiling. Guest relations added me on WeChat and responded quickly. When I asked the gym front desk staff about the outdoor pool, they didn't just point the way; they enthusiastically escorted me, taking the elevator, changing floors, and walking through an entire floor to the apartment's outdoor pool.
The harp performance during breakfast was indeed delightful, and while the food variety wasn't extensive, it was exquisite.

We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton and had a wonderful experience, especially because of the warm and attentive service from the hotel staff.
A special mention goes to the team at the 礼宾室 (Concierge). Since I had ordered quite a lot of items online during our stay, I ended up visiting them many times to check on deliveries. They were always patient, helpful, and welcoming, taking the time to assist me with checking the packages and greeting us warmly every time. Their attitude really made us feel welcomed.
The housekeeping team also deserves special praise. Whenever we were heading out, they would kindly remind us to bring water and check the weather for the day. Since we were travelling with a baby, they also thoughtfully provided additional towels and toiletries, which was a very nice touch and showed genuine attention to our needs.
The location is also excellent. The hotel is around 1 km from 北京路步行街, which was an easy and pleasant walk for us. There are also plenty of local eateries nearby. I especially enjoyed visiting 广银肠粉 for 艇仔粥 and 嘉琪饼家 for 菠萝包 — I ended up going to both almost every day!
Overall, this was a very comfortable and family-friendly stay, made even better by the genuinely friendly and attentive staff. The service really stood out to us, and we would be happy to stay at DoubleTree by Hilton again.FromTWD 2,290

As someone who rarely leaves reviews, Shangri-La truly deserves a special commendation from me! It's one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.
First and foremost, the service was excellent. Not only did they meet reasonable guest requests – for instance, for my birthday they provided a thoughtful and delicious cake – but I also felt genuinely respected by their service-oriented approach. They upgraded me to a river view room this time, and the scenery outside the window was expansive. Stepping into the room immediately felt so refreshing.
One major reason I chose Shangri-La was their swimming pool. The indoor pool was clean, tidy, and quite spacious. The outdoor pool looked stunning, though unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to experience it this time. How many hotels can boast two pools? This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island.
