Guangzhou East Railway Station/Wushan Guangzhou|1.16km from city center
Due to an early high-speed train, I checked in very late. I chose this hotel over a similar-priced competitor near Guangzhou East Station, hoping for a more personalized experience and a good rest. However, the entire experience was an absolute nightmare, and I barely slept. The room was old, and the smell was incredibly strong; my rhinitis kept me congested and unable to breathe properly all night. I couldn't even improve the situation by lowering the AC temperature or fan speed – I can't believe there are still hotels these days where you can't control the room temperature yourself. The most infuriating part was when I checked out and reported these issues to the male front desk staff. He completely disregarded my feedback, even sneeringly suggesting I could have changed rooms, as if he was annoyed I'd interrupted his nap at the front desk. There was zero empathy or service awareness. After I left, hotel staff added me directly on WeChat without even calling first, asking for a positive review. When I reiterated my complaints, they just offered generic platitudes about giving me something on my next stay.FromCAD 80

Oakwood Premier is extremely convenient - just one metro station ride on Line 1 from Guangzhou East rail station, and <10 mins walk from Exit A.
The check in, restaurant and housekeeping staff members are courteous and responsive to our needs - extra towels, restaurant bookings etc. It is a welcoming change from other hotel chains in other countries which we experienced lately.
The room is clean and spacious. There is however too many furniture (probably due to accommodating long term guests who need plenty of storage). Less furniture would be ideal with more walking space and effective opening of doors, eg bedroom door, if open, will block access to the wardrobe door.
The breakfast buffet spread is sufficient - Chinese and western dishes. The dining room is huge, bright and spacious with large windows. The F&B knowledge could be improved though eg having available the appropriate condiments with the buffet items (calamari rings, delicious but no dips to go with), fresh waffle with no maple syrup (just 4 different fruit jams and 1 peanut butter options), crispy bacon (but not cripsy in reality), Chinese dim sum (with no chili oil/sauce, vinegar etc) at lukewarm temperature (the steaming switch was deliberately kept at OFF though I switched it to ON several times.)
We will be back though. The value is in the location, clean and spacious room. Not the food.FromCAD 154

I had a very pleasant stay at the Asia International Hotel. I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience. The breakfast was extensive and offered a wide variety of options, all while enjoying a beautiful panoramic view, which made the mornings even more special.
The swimming pool was also a great addition—clean, relaxing, and perfect to unwind after a busy day.
What stood out most was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful, and communication in English was excellent, which made everything easy and comfortable.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.FromCAD 103

The front desk kindly upgraded us to a Vibrant Twin room, which was really spacious. The facilities were a little dated, but it didn't affect our stay at all. Breakfast was decent, and the bedding felt pretty good overall. My family loves tea, and every time we called for service, they were incredibly attentive. The surrounding area is also very convenient for getting around. Overall, it met our expectations and was a pleasant stay.FromCAD 125

We had a wonderful stay at Fraser Suites Guangzhou and honestly could not have asked for a better experience. We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment, and it was extremely complete and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, including utensils and appliances, which made the stay very convenient. Having a washing machine was also a huge plus, and we really appreciated being able to make tea and feel at home during our trip.
The breakfast was excellent every morning. One of our favorite parts was the fresh juice machine where we could squeeze our own juice. The selection was very good, and the chefs and restaurant staff were always attentive, professional, and kind.
The concierge team was absolutely amazing. They helped us many times with directions, locations, transportation, and even our orders. Communication was very easy because their English was excellent, which made our stay even more comfortable.
A special mention to the housekeeping team, who truly made the experience exceptional. On the second day, the housekeeper noticed that I was washing clothes and kindly brought a drying rack to the room so we could hang everything properly. She even arranged the clothes for drying herself. She also left thoughtful notes whenever she was unsure about personal items — for example, one day there was a teapot on the table, and instead of removing it, she left a note saying she did not clean it because she was not sure if we were still using it. These small details showed genuine care and attention.
The location was also extremely convenient. The hotel is directly connected to the mall, which made shopping and moving around very easy. There were trendy bakeries and cafés literally next to the entrance, and we loved trying them during our stay. We could also simply cross the street to reach Taikoo Hui for luxury shopping, and Grandview Mall was only a short walk away. There were plenty of convenience stores nearby and even some halal food options around the area, which made everything very comfortable and accessible for us.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and felt very welcomed throughout the entire experience. I would highly recommend Fraser Suites Guangzhou and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Guangzhou.FromCAD 174

This was my first time choosing the Hilton brand, despite having traveled many times before, and frankly, I wasn't very satisfied with the experience. Although the staff were quick to address issues, the fundamental problem was the old and outdated facilities.
As soon as my mother and I entered the room, we noticed a distinct foul odor. Considering the significant rainfall in Guangdong recently, we thought it might be a smell coming from the air conditioning ducts, so we ran the AC for a long time. It improved slightly after we returned from dinner that evening. However, when we came back to the hotel the next day and opened the door, there was still a noticeable foul and musty smell. We called the front desk to report the issue, and the staff quickly brought an air purifier. While the foul smell did improve, the musty smell remained persistent.
They did offer to move us to another room, but since we were checking out the very next day, we really didn't want the hassle.
I have sensitive, allergic skin, and shortly after resting my chin on the pillow that was in contact with the headboard, I developed a large area of redness and itching. I hope the hotel seriously investigates their hygiene standards and checks the bedding for dust mites.
Also, I've rarely seen such a stingy mini-bar offering – only two Cokes and one juice for the initial complimentary selection.FromCAD 128

Huge thanks to Miss Fang at the front desk for upgrading us from a standard king room to an executive king room! We got a high floor on the 29th, which was much larger and quieter. The room itself was spacious, and all the facilities looked well-maintained, showing no signs of age, everything was excellent. The hotel's location is super convenient, with Teemall, Guangzhou Book Center, Parc Central, and Grandview Mall all nearby – you won't have to worry about dining, entertainment, or shopping.FromCAD 156

Decided to stay at a 5* hotel as it was my birthday. Room was smaller than expected and the check in lady said room was upgraded which didn’t appear to be as room appeared to be basic. As it was my bday i asked the hotel if they had anything complimentary for someone celebrating their bday to which she said fruit platter then added some dim sum..acceptable but would be nice if they arranged without me asking.
Hotel is a bit old and they were renovating so very noisy during day. The breakfast was very good as had good variety of food. Location is also convenient as 2 mins from metro.

My stay at Sofitel Guangzhou was absolutely wonderful, and I particularly want to thank a few staff members for their exceptional service.
First, I'd like to extend my gratitude to Bey at the front desk for a smooth and efficient check-in process. Bey was not only professional and patient but also incredibly friendly, with excellent bilingual communication skills, making conversations in both Chinese and English feel natural and effortless. During check-in, she enthusiastically shared many local tips for sightseeing, dining, and transportation in Guangzhou, which made my first visit to the city much easier and truly showed the hotel's warmth.
I also want to give a special shout-out to Niki at the Executive Lounge. She also possesses outstanding bilingual service capabilities, along with a warm, friendly, and meticulous demeanor. Since I haven't lived in China for quite some time, I struggled to recall the Chinese terms for some of my allergies when confirming my dietary restrictions. I turned to Niki for help, and she patiently assisted me in confirming the relevant information and communicating it, which made the whole process much less stressful.
Later, upon learning I couldn't drink skim milk, Niki went out of her way to find whole milk for me. These seemingly small details truly made me feel like I was experiencing genuine guest-centric service.
On the day of my departure, I decided to relax in the Executive Lounge before heading to the airport. During that time, I saw an intern helping an older lady with an airline ticket booking issue. Although the process took a considerable amount of time, the intern maintained a patient and positive attitude throughout, diligently trying to resolve the problem. The lady later chatted with me for a bit and spoke highly of the Sofitel's service. I believe excellent service isn't just about quick problem-solving; it's also about staff members' willingness to listen attentively and actively assist every guest.
Overall, Sofitel Guangzhou offers a high standard of service, and employees like Bey, Niki, and the dedicated intern truly made this stay exceptionally memorable. I look forward to choosing Sofitel again on my next visit to Guangzhou.FromCAD 125

I specifically chose to stay at the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou this time and experienced the full package: guest room, executive lounge, CAN guided tour, and breakfast at the Revolving Restaurant. It truly gave me a taste of what the pinnacle of hotel service in Guangzhou is like. The entire stay was comfortable and reassuring, with no unpleasant surprises, and every aspect exceeded my expectations with its generosity and thoughtfulness.
Upon checking in, I had booked a basic room. I paid 20 RMB at the 'Seafood Market' (referring to a loyalty program sign-up) to get a Lingkehui Gold Card. After calling staff beforehand to link my information, I was informed I could get a free upgrade to a Kapok Suite and also receive a welcome fruit platter. It was straightforward and generous, immediately dispelling any concerns I had about formulaic service from an old-established hotel. The upgraded room was spacious, featuring a warm and elegant Lingnan-style wooden design. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and all toiletries were well-stocked. On the first night, I discovered the air conditioner was leaking. After calling service, a staff member arrived within five minutes, promptly fixed the issue, and maintained a polite attitude throughout. Afterwards, the floor supervisor even called to apologize and offered a souvenir. Their immediate response to issues, without shirking responsibility or delaying, and their impressive efficiency were remarkable.
The executive lounge on the 4th floor was a major highlight of this trip. During afternoon tea, pastries were continuously replenished, with a limitless supply of various savory and sweet treats. It was quiet and not crowded, perfect for a break and a chat. In the evening, happy hour offered samosas, cold cuts, creamy pasta, and small portions of hot dishes. Although it got a bit noisy during peak hours, staff were always diligent in clearing tables promptly, showing great efficiency and professionalism. The waitresses could even mix 'Cuba Libre' and 'Gin and Tonic,' and I could ask them to prepare drinks.
The hotel's exclusive CAN guided tour was a unique experience. The guide led us through the gold foil murals in the lobby, the central courtyard waterfall, and the art collection, meticulously explaining the hotel's forty-plus-year history and the clever touches of Lingnan design. From the golden dragons on the ceiling to the red bridge in the courtyard, every detail had a story. The guide was patient and thorough throughout the explanation, actively stopping for guests to take photos and recommending lesser-known spots within the hotel. The tour was unhurried, and any questions were answered in detail, allowing for a deep understanding of this garden hotel hidden in the city center.
The next morning, I went to the Revolving Restaurant on the 30th floor for a buffet breakfast. The 360-degree slowly rotating view offered panoramic cityscapes, with the Canton Tower visible in the distance. The food balanced Cantonese flavors with international cuisine; the freshly steamed shrimp dumplings and Jidi porridge were authentic and delicious, while Western omelets, cold cuts, fresh fruit, and baked goods were all well-stocked. Staff constantly cleared empty plates and proactively refilled drinks, and there was no long wait for window seats, creating a relaxed and pleasant dining atmosphere.
From the front desk and room maintenance to executive lounge service, the CAN tour guide, and restaurant staff, everyone I encountered maintained a consistently gentle and polite demeanor. Two things impressed me the most: first, their zero-delay approach to problem-solving, responding swiftly to requests and resolving issues properly; and second, the genuine and generous room upgrade, given without upselling or conditions, purely offering tangible benefits to guests.
As a platinum five-star hotel with many years of deep roots in Guangzhou, the Garden Hotel doesn't rely on flashy gimmicks. It earns its reputation through tangible details, efficient service, and generous hospitality. Whether for a short getaway or an extended stay in the city, it provides a stable and comfortable experience. This thoughtfulness and meticulousness truly make it a benchmark for hotel service in Guangzhou. I will definitely choose it again on my next visit to Guangzhou.FromCAD 179

This was my second stay, and this time the room type I was given was much better than the last. The room facilities are well-maintained, and the living room TV has even been updated. My only minor complaint is that I was on the 27th floor, which felt a bit low. A big thanks to the front desk lady for her excellent service; she helped me with a late check-out and even provided welcome fruits and drinks. It was a little disappointing that there was no soup available this time, I'm not sure if they've discontinued it. The executive lounge is great for a light meal to cover dinner, and the food quality there is quite good, as is the service from the lounge staff – highly recommend! Just a heads-up for future guests: there are separate elevators for high and low floors, so make sure to take the high-floor elevator to get to the lounge. After a fresh rain in the mountains, I unexpectedly encountered a 'lying flat' Thai-style getaway in Guangzhou 🌿.
I took advantage of the weekend to stay at the Dusit Thani Conghua, and happened to catch a rain shower. The air was filled with the scent of earth and fresh grass, truly embodying the phrase 'after a fresh rain in the mountains' – it's the perfect spot for a weekend staycation!
The hotel features a collection of Thai-style villas, nestled by mountains and water. The public areas are adorned with tropical plants, and peacocks leisurely roam around, making me feel like I was back in Chiang Mai for a moment. The infinity pool and the bird's nest hot springs are especially photogenic. If you come on a weekday, you can practically have the hot springs all to yourself – truly chill.
I particularly want to commend Luke for his butler service. From reminders about my itinerary before check-in to fulfilling various requests after check-in, his responses were always prompt and proactive. He was attentive without being intrusive, which made for an excellent impression.

The staff in the hot spring area are incredibly attentive and friendly, proactively offering towels and hot water. The rest area provides unlimited fruit and snacks, making for an excellent hot spring experience. The guest rooms have been renovated and are clean and tidy, more comfortable than before. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, providing a one-stop shop for hot springs and relaxation. It's perfect for family trips or a relaxing getaway, and a top choice for hot springs around Guangzhou and Foshan. I'll definitely be back!FromCAD 143

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard:
1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all;
2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again.
3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment.
I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort.
P.S.: Parking spaces were spacious and freeFromCAD 139

Our stay in the triple room at the Guangzhou Biquan Air Hot Spring Hotel was absolutely fantastic! 👍 The room was spacious and bright, with elegant and cozy decor. The three beds were soft and comfortable, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The room was also equipped with complete and practical facilities, all spotlessly clean.
The hotel's hot spring was definitely a highlight, offering a rich variety of pools with perfect water temperatures. Soaking in the hot springs felt like all my fatigue just melted away. The surrounding scenery was beautiful too; it was incredibly relaxing to enjoy the views while soaking.
The hotel's service also deserves high praise. The staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to help. Whether it was checking in or resolving other issues, they were very efficient. I will definitely choose this place again next time!FromCAD 116

I checked into the hotel late at night, and the front desk staff kindly upgraded me to a room on the 21st floor. The smart home system was fantastic, and the room even had a bathtub! The soundproofing was excellent; even though my room faced the elevators, I didn't hear a single sound from outside all night.
The only downside was the smart lighting system, which bothered me all night. If I got up in the middle of the night, it would activate, but there was no single button to turn all the lights off. It took several attempts to get them off, and then I couldn't get back to sleep...
Overall, I still highly recommend this place and would choose to stay here again next time.FromCAD 83

This time, I brought my kids back to China for the summer holiday, and our first stop was the W Hotel Guangzhou! It was indeed fantastic 😎👍 We arrived around 11 PM for check-in, and the front desk staff, Clinton, was exceptionally nice, thoughtfully offering complimentary breakfast and a welcome gift. The hotel's breakfast was outstanding, with a rich and comprehensive selection of both Chinese and Western dishes, completely satisfying us! The kids absolutely loved the rooftop pool. Whether it was the greeters, concierge, front desk, or housekeeping staff, everyone was incredibly friendly! The service was so attentive, giving us a comforting sense of coming home during our return. 👍 Meeting up with a couple of friends in the lobby was great; the overall ambiance was both peaceful and comfortable! The room was meticulously clean, and they even provided turndown service with delicious snacks, which the kids adored! The location is superb, making it incredibly convenient to get around. Getting a taxi was so easy! And parcels were delivered directly to our room! All in all, this experience was absolutely excellent 👌! It's perfect for family and parent-child trips! Our four-day, three-night stay in Guangzhou was very pleasant, making us love the city's hospitality even more~ Next time I return to Guangzhou, this will definitely be my top choice!! I'll also recommend it to other friends! Thank you to every friendly staff member~FromCAD 186

Guangzhou Dongfang Hotel exceeded our expectations. The beautifully landscaped gardens create a peaceful atmosphere.
The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay, offering a wide selection of fresh and flavorful dishes. We also appreciated the spacious, well-equipped fitness center, which made it easy to keep up with our workout routine while traveling.
Most of all, we were impressed by the exceptional service. Every staff member we encountered was courteous and eager to help. Our sincere thanks to Celine, Jack, and Evan for their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail, which made our stay especially enjoyable.

Location & Surroundings: The hotel is situated in Huacheng Hui Central, surrounded by numerous shopping malls, making it convenient for shopping and dining. From the hotel lobby, you can see the Canton Tower and the East and West Towers. The only minor inconvenience is that the hotel lobby is on the 22nd floor, while guest rooms are on floors below the lobby. So, every time you return to your room, you have to take one elevator to the 22nd floor, and then another elevator down to your room floor.
Service: Overall, the service was quite good, but food deliveries are not allowed to be brought to the room; only other types of deliveries are permitted.
Room Layout & Facilities: I stayed in a twin room. The room's layout and flow weren't very practical. Upon entering, you have to navigate a narrow turn before reaching the bedroom area. The shower and bathtub are right next to each other, and there are very few flat surfaces in the room to place belongings, including by the bedside.FromCAD 172

This was my second stay at MO Guangzhou, and it was just as welcoming and comfortable as the first. The room was spacious, and the hygiene conditions were relatively good. The staff were responsive and even proactively guided me when I was unsure of the way. During my stay, it happened to be an important time for my family and me, and the hotel, upon learning this, prepared a cake and a small souvenir. Despite a few minor hiccups, they didn't detract from the overall excellent experience. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, and it will remain my top choice when I visit Guangzhou again.FromCAD 301

Exceeded my expectations! From the moment I landed and booked the pickup service, I was escorted by someone who addressed me by name throughout. I've stayed in many luxury hotels, but this is the only one where even their standard rooms offer a complimentary mini-bar, refilled daily, along with welcome fruits and desserts. The chocolate dessert, in particular, was incredibly rich and delicious, not at all a cut corner. The balcony suite experience was even more amazing than I imagined; the moment I walked in, I felt the price was worth it, with fantastic views overlooking Guangzhou's CBD. The service was impeccable; our butler, Lilith, was very thoughtful and always accommodating. Takeout and deliveries could be brought directly to the room, and every staff member greeted us. The light luxury style is exactly to my taste, more so than the designs at the neighboring Four Seasons or Rosewood, and it felt more personable. The only minor issue was that the soundproofing in the room could be better; otherwise, everything was perfect. I forgot to take photos of the balcony suite, but it was truly beautiful!FromCAD 326

A surprisingly pleasant stay! I encountered a typhoon during my trip, but the hotel conveniently offers a Chinese restaurant, a food street, and various chain brand dining options, so I didn't even have to leave to get a good meal. The hotel is also just a few hundred meters' walk from a commercial street, a museum, and a large park, making its location absolutely fantastic with plenty of bustling activity nearby. A big thank you to the front desk for upgrading my room type. The room was spotlessly clean, and I felt that the facilities and amenities provided were on par with other five-star hotels in the city. The housekeeping staff were warm and friendly. I'll definitely prioritize staying at China Hotel next time I'm in the area.FromCAD 123

Had a staycation day at Rosewood! Big thanks to Winston for the thoughtful arrangements. The room view was fantastic, and communication throughout was efficient and pleasant. All three room service deliveries arrived much faster than the estimated time, and they're available 24/7. The bathroom's fixtures and fittings were great to use; it was very comfortable to sit and do makeup there, and the toiletries were also excellent. The only thing was that I couldn't find a comb in the amenity kit. Funnily enough, I stumbled upon one in a box in the restaurant's restroom the next morning, haha! 😂 Of course, if anything was missing or needed in the room, they were very quick to respond and provide it. The pillows here were a bit high and soft for me, but I was a bit lazy to request a change. I bet the square blocks on this grapefruit cake are designed to look like the square pillows in the room – so cute! 😁FromCAD 344

The hotel is wow!
They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit.
Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need.
The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room.
Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least.
Overall, very pleasant stopover experience. Would book again for longer stopover to discover hotel’s spa and restaurant.FromCAD 176

My stay at this hotel was absolutely delightful. The room was spacious and bright, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I loved the convenient all-room lighting control. The bathroom sink was deep and large, and even the slippers had a V-shaped opening for easy wear – these thoughtful details really stood out and are something I haven't seen in other five-star hotels. The breakfast spread was extensive, with made-to-order options; I tried the Dandan noodles and beef brisket pho, both of which were delicious. From check-in at the front desk to the lobby and restaurant, every staff member was exceptionally polite. Highly recommend! This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. A big shout-out to Guangzhou's excellent management; the order was fantastic! The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island.
