It also provide shuttle bus in every 15 min to your ne of the station. Shopping mall in 10-15 minutes walking distance we took a taxi from The shopping mall cost 1000yen. Great hotel, great value for money, easy to find, convenient to the airport, clean and comfortable, great hot springs. The hotel is European style, spacious for 3 people, I was so happy that I forgot to take pictures of the room, but took pictures of the view outside the window!

Overall, our stay was good, especially the location. The room is a bit old but still well maintained. However, we were not happy with one aspect of the service. A staff member (possibly a manager or senior from the F&B team) was not very professional and came across as quite rude. He physically blocked us from entering the breakfast area without listening to our explanation. We clearly mentioned that our friend was already inside and had a table, and we were just trying to confirm the table number. However, he insisted we go to Level 1 for breakfast and did not allow us to explain further. We had to go back and forth between the lift, trying to contact our friend, which was quite frustrating. Only after we showed him a photo did he finally allow us to enter. What surprised us most was that the restaurant was actually quite empty, with many available tables. We don’t understand why we were told it was full and asked to go elsewhere. We hope the hotel can improve staff communication and professionalism to avoid similar situations in the future.

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Kobe's artificial island at Shimin Hiroba (Citizens' Plaza). It's incredibly convenient for the airport, and the hotel even offers a free shuttle to Sannomiya Station, which is excellent – though I only found that out on my last day, unfortunately! The surrounding scenery gives you a real sense of Japan's booming high-growth period. The hotel epitomizes Japanese service style, and the rooms are really spacious, much larger than many other Japanese hotels I've stayed in, with plenty of room for all your luggage. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, and the 30th-floor restaurant offers panoramic views of Kobe Port. It's a shame the weather wasn't great during my stay, but I hope to visit Kobe again on a sunny day next time!

500m from kobe tower. We select this hotel because there is japanese style room with public Onsen available. Big room for 4-6 members can be fit. I recommend the hotel team to clean the air con as so many dust but there is Air humidifier machine set up inside the room too. Thank you and we love it.☺️

This was my first time staying at Shimahana, and I was impressed by the quality of the New Awaji Group's service. I was able to fish at Yume Senkei and caught two sea bream, which they cooked and served for dinner that night, and it was delicious. The rest was neatly prepared and we were able to take home. Shimahana is located a little way off the coast, but they provided transportation to and from the hot springs, so we were able to enjoy it without any problems. I would like to stay here again

The hotel itself isn't up to par. The amenities provided are quite subpar; the toothbrush, for instance, was so rough it made my gums bleed. Right from check-in, they try to upsell you to a more expensive room. If you refuse, they deliberately assign you a low-floor room with a terrible view – I'm convinced it's intentional. So, if you want a decent experience, you're practically forced to upgrade. After upgrading, they cheerfully provide a hotel map and some greenhouse coupons. Otherwise, you just get a key and that's it. While I can't pinpoint any specific service issues, there was an overall 'off' and unsettling vibe. Even the renowned architecture nearby is poorly maintained. You can't truly appreciate the details; it only looks decent from a distance. This is quite rare in Japan, where I've always found people meticulous about maintenance. This place, however, completely overturned my expectations. Overall, it feels like quite a desolate and depressing place.

The hotel management is excellent, and the service is superb. Special shoutout to the concierge team! They handled luggage storage, weighing, and guided us with the airport shuttle baggage recording flawlessly. ❤️❤️ The Kansai Airport shuttle offers direct service (though infrequent). Alternatively, you can take a bus to Sannomiya, which is just one subway stop or a 1600 JPY taxi ride from the hotel. The hotel lobby is on the fourth floor. Take the escalator down on the north side, and you'll be on the second floor of JR Shin-Kobe Station. The first floor hosts express bus stations for Arima Onsen, Mount Rokko, and Tokushima, as well as the city sightseeing buses (the 230-yen elongated bus and the 300-yen retro trolley) which go directly to Kobe Port Tower, IOIO, and vintage trend stores. On the west side, the elevator on the first floor leads to Nunobiki Herb Gardens and Kitano Ijinkan. B3 has a large supermarket, a 100-yen shop, and the Shin-Kobe subway station. Even though the hotel shows its age, it's well-maintained. I stayed on the 23rd floor this time, and the room was spacious. 😓 During Typhoon Rosing (6.2), the hotel creaked all night, which was a bit scary. 😂 Breakfast on the fourth floor is a rich buffet with many Kobe-exclusive delicacies, and it's absolutely delicious. You can also opt for a Japanese set meal on the fifth floor.

The light in the middle of the room was broken, the wires were exposed and the light bulbs were removed. It was very dark at night, and there was a Bible in the drawer. The whole hotel has a very old atmosphere and European interiors. I felt like it was a hotel from an American horror movie. Hahaha, I was a little scared alone, but overall it was just like that, ordinary. I saw a swimming pool and a gym, but I only stayed for one night and didn't go there. The buffet downstairs was quite delicious, although I didn't see the menu clearly and was put on a pedestal.

This colonial-style hotel is imbued with a strong maritime theme from the lobby to the bar, restaurant, and executive lounge. Every detail, from the ceiling fans, shutters, telescopes, heavy wooden desks, and leather chairs in the rooms, to the tropical plants and wicker weaving in the restaurant, and the magenta swan display rack and fabric sofas in the lobby, exudes a refined charm with a sense of history. The hotel breakfast was also quite good, with a satisfying variety and excellent quality. This time, my room included a minibar and executive lounge access. The minibar was superb, with delicious complimentary chocolates and snacks for drinks, as well as local beer and fresh juices. However, please note that the executive lounge does not allow children, so unfortunately, I couldn't experience it fully this time, only went in for a quick look. My child did get a huge, delicious cookie. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Kobe!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right in Sannomiya. It's just a short walk to Sannomiya Station, the airport bus, and Daimaru department store. Directly across from the hotel is a 24-hour Don Quijote, spanning four floors – I always end up buying so much there! They also offer late-night snacks. While the room isn't huge, the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are a rare and welcome feature for a Japanese hotel.

GGuest UserOverall, a wonderful place. We highly recommend it. It was a wonderful walk from the station to the hotel, and we were greeted with the utmost courtesy, explained everything, and shown around. We were shown to our room and given instructions. We booked a traditional room with futons, and the view from the window was simply stunning. The onsen includes two hot springs, a comfortable changing area with massage chairs, a sauna, and a cold plunge pool. They give free passes to seven public baths in the village. There's a shuttle that takes you to various walking spots. The prices are reasonable. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. We were very satisfied and would love to come back!

TTrip LOVERssThe room was spacious and comfortable, providing a serene atmosphere for relaxation. The onsen facilities, along with the provided Japanese bath suits and slippers, added a delightful touch to the experience. The breakfast buffet featured a variety of healthy Japanese options, which I found both satisfying and nourishing. Additionally, the view of Kobe Tower from my room was a charming highlight. The hotel's design reflects a refined minimalistic luxury, creating an elegant and calming environment. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a blend of comfort and traditional Japanese hospitality.

GG-AVWe had a great 1 night stay at this hotel! This was a wonderful experience! Although we only spent 1 night here, as this was meant to be an overnight stop between cities in our travel road trip, this left such a good impression on us, that we would like to come back to Akashi just to stay in this hotel again. The architecture and the hotel design is very cool, 50's kind of vibe, but it's new of course. The hotel has a club lounge where we could unwind after the drive with complimentary snacks and drinks, including alcohol, and all was free and unlimited. The room was super spacious and designed nicely, with a huge hot tube jacuzzi, and since we took the ocean view room, the view overlooking the ocean and bridge was just breath-taking 👌 The breakfast was just right, and they totally accommodated my meal requests and accomplished to have a very good result... 5 stars here and I would totally want to come back!

AAnonymous UserFrom Osaka Uehommachi, go directly to Uozaki (Google Maps says ”no transfer” means you get off and change to the next bus at the same platform), then transfer to the Rokko Express (which offers a wonderful view and a unique experience). Get off at Island Center Station three stops later, and the hotel is right at the East Exit of the overpass. Bus No. 23 is located on the first floor of the hotel, reaching Kobe Mita in the city center in about 20 minutes. The stop is right in front of the Hankyu Department Store. There are also buses to Shin-Kobe, but they run less frequently. The bus to Kobe Airport is also on the first floor. Reservations can be made at the front desk, and there's a self-service ticket machine at the entrance. The earliest bus leaves at 6:23 AM, and the trip takes just over an hour. There's a FamilyMart convenience store next to the hotel. We booked a terrace room, which had a large outdoor terrace. The hotel's Hama Onsen is open until midnight and features several large and small pools, including an outdoor area. It's a great place to soak after strolling through the streets.
