"First time here but would definitely return! Right outside the station so of train travel is your thing then it’s great, parking at the hotel is £30 for 24hours (just had my car bashed in the car park so that’s not the best start to it!) Staff are super friendly, really enjoyed the hotel, TVs in our room definitely need an update but I didn’t use it so no issue for me  Bathroom is more than adequate and shower has plenty pressure and heat Breakfast was good, not the worst quality and a buffet affair  Didn’t realise check in is 4pm! Luckily my room was ready so they let me in (arrived 15:30) I’d definitely head back to Chester and definitely stay here again but I’d be on the train next time:)"

"First visit to Chester and took a chance on deciding where to stay. We loved this hotel and the location is ideal at the side of the canal with a short walk to 2 nearby lovely pubs. The rooms were very nice and relaxing with the bathroom on the small side but perfectly functional. The staff are amazing and every one of them was very friendly and welcoming. We did eat in the hotel on the first night and the food was fine. Would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again next year."

Amazing
MMikethetravellingscouserThe Mill Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and the centre of Chester itself. So, what is a stay in this hotel like? I stayed in the Business Class Double room with a view of the canal. The room is a fair size, with the king size bed being very comfortable and clean. A big drawback for the room, however, is the lack of air conditioning facilities available. I stayed at the end of July, and whilst the outside wasn’t hot, the room itself was stuffy and opening the window didn’t really help too much. I can’t imagine what it would be like staying here in during a heatwave, which is becoming more common! The room also comes with decent tea and coffee making facilities, along with a desk for working. The bathroom is a good size, but it could do with a bit of cleaning. There are two shower nozzles - the smaller standard nozzle was fine but the rainfall shower nozzle was extremely dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been used in a while - and I’d recommend not using that particular shower if you stay here. The extractor fan vent is also very dusty and obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while! Over to the spa facilities - they are nothing short of exceptional. This is the real draw when staying here, with the swimming pool and sauna being to an excellent standard. Use of the swimming pool and gym is free to all guests whilst staying here, so make good use of the facilities! I opted for the inclusion of breakfast during my stay, and I’d say it was ok rather than great. The amount of food available isn’t huge, though the likes of the croissants and cooked breakfast are to a good standard. As the hotel is in need of an update - it firmly feels like it’s stuck in the mid noughties - the hotel does excel in the standard of service provided to its customers. Whether that be from the cleaners, the reception staff or the waiting staff, everyone is smiling and friendly. It makes all the difference! Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. I hope they do update the rooms soon enough - they really do need air conditioning! And I also hope the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned a little more. But everything else was to a good standard and for the price paid (£90 for two people with breakfast and spa facilities included), you can’t find much better than that!

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location near to the city centre. Rooms are spacious and beds comfortable, and staff are helpful. Two points: firstly, the picture of the pool is very misleading as it is very small (not as it appears). Secondly, the ambience of the bar area is spoiled by multiple television screens - which guests cannt get away from. While we were there nobody other than staff was looking at the televisions and more atmosphere would be gained by getting rid of some, if not all of them!

GGuest UserWelcoming staff, comfortable bed and spacious room, excellent leisure and spa facilities including a relaxation suite which was true to its word, plus a jacuzzi cave, like something from Alice in Wonderland, topped with the hottest steam room ive been in for years. Pool long but jot that wide for serious swimmers.

GGuest UserWe had a lovely greeting and a pleasant suprise our room was ready early so we were able to go straight to the room. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. Lovely toiletries in bathroom. The staff throughout were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good although a few items were not replenished for quite a while. We have stayed previously as location is excellent and we are always happy with the service and standard.

GGuest UserA place with old world charm and in a great location.  The double bed we had was on the small size, so we wished we'd selected a twin room. Breakfast was good, though water should be provided without having to ask.  The coffee was a disappointing lukewarm warm filter type, despite there being a decent machine in view behind the bar.

JJema MayburyStayed here last night, everything was perfect. Our room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for one night. The hotel is close to the city so just an uber ride away. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we opted for the breakfast the next day which was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

SSharon PatriciaWe had a lovely time it was one of our celebration for our 50th wedding anniversary and the staff were great. I had knee surgery 12 weeks ago. They made sure we had a downstairs room and even found another chair to go in our room as I needed one with arms on to get up. We had dinner at the restaurant Friday evening and the food and service was quick and excellent.

GGuest UserFor a normal size breakfast you had to pay extra, the heating was broken in the spa so it was quite cold. The hotel did look a bit tatty in places. Service was lacking, always had to chase the staff members. Lovely building and good location.

GGuest UserBrilliant location, lovely old building. The fold out beds for kids are uncomfortable (worse than the ones at travel lodge or premmier inn). Don't bother with breakfast! Kept running out of things and didn't always replace them. Bacon inedible, sausages cheap, no nlack pudding even though it's on the menu and small portions. I would stay again but wouldn't add breakfast

GGuest UserThis is a very traditional hotel. It has a very good leisure centre (so don’t forget your swim suit). The hotel has a large bar area which is very comfortable and the prices reasonable. There is a large free car park. The staff are friendly and helpful.
