"The room was quite spacious, but the facilities were a bit underwhelming. For example, the balcony door lock was broken on the first day, and though it was fixed, I later discovered the hot water in the sink wasn't working. These issues should really be checked before guests check in. Luckily, everything was eventually repaired. My stay wasn't the best, but the Nepalese lady at the front desk who helped resolve the problems was excellent – thumbs up to her! Breakfast was a partnership with Harvest Buffet inside The Star, costing $30 for one adult and one child, which I thought was a reasonable price."

"Our experience was good. The apartments are well organised and no lengthy check-in process like other places. A bit surprised after paying the amount due weeks before and then being requested for another $500 prior to checking in otherwise the booking can't be guaranteed. Most people take American Express in the accommodation industry and this was also a surprise. Apart from that it was a very pleasant state and we will book it again if we get a good deal."

"There was a cockroach in the room! Our stay started off fairly well, but everything changed that evening when I spotted a small cockroach crawling across the desk. I immediately trapped it with my son’s face mask and crushed it with all my strength. After that, I couldn’t stop worrying that there might be more hiding somewhere in the room, so we closed up all of our suitcases to avoid any unwanted surprises. When I checked out the next morning, I showed the photo to the receptionist. She simply went, “Oh…” in surprise, and that was it. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to address the issue. I didn’t ask for any compensation—I just checked out and left. Finding a cockroach is unpleasant enough, but the complete lack of response from the hotel was even more disappointing."
