a&o Antwerpen Centraal ★★

📍 Pelikaanstraat 20, Antwerp

"When we booked the hotel, we were told only bunk beds were available, but upon check-in, we were assigned a room with a double bed. Many thanks to the hotel staff for taking care of us and giving us a spacious room. There's free drinking water on the first floor, and you can borrow a hairdryer from the front desk, to be returned within an hour. Please note that towels, toothbrushes, slippers, and mouthwash cups are not provided. The toilet and shower room are separate and both quite small. A particular discomfort was the weak water pressure in the shower, which also required pressing a button for each burst of water – I hope the hotel can improve this. Additionally, the sleeping environment was a bit noisy."

"Very good service, everything very clean, and the location is perfect in Mechelen (Brussels). The tea and coffee provided for guests in the room could be improved, but otherwise, it's a 10/10."

Charmehotel Klokkenhof ★★★
"The hotel environment is comfortable, but the facilities are relatively simple. Because it was winter, I felt that the room was not warm enough and it was a bit cold when I slept. The heating in the room could not be adjusted, which was not a good experience. There is a chain hotel nearby with better facilities, which I think is more worthy of recommendation."

a&o Antwerpen Centraal ★★
"The location is central but very noisy due to the train station. One of the two elevators was broken, which made getting to the higher floors take longer. Otherwise, the bedding and towels were clean. The bathroom was very cramped, and you could hear everything on the street through the windows, as well as the opening and closing of other guests' doors. So, don't expect a 3-star hotel; there are a lot of young people, so it's more like a semi-hostel."

"The interior space is large, and the curtains provide privacy, which is great. It's clean, so if I go to Antwerp again, I'd probably stay here. There are plenty of lockers for luggage, and a place to hang clothes, although I don't recall seeing any hangers. There's a Lidl and an Aldi nearby, but you'll need to take the tram to get to the city center."

"I really liked this hotel; it absolutely met my expectations. The (small) gym was a definite bonus for me, especially since I didn't even know it was there when I booked! Ultimately, for my specific trip, the hotel's location was slightly less convenient than another option I had in mind, but certainly not bad at all – just in comparison. This also had to do with having to change my transport to Antwerp at the last minute, which had nothing at all to do with the hotel, but rather with the trains from Rotterdam."
