Cheap Hotels in Potsdam

"Despite the 10mins long walk on main road to the hotel (they do provide sign to guide you), I really enjoyed my stay that is away from the city. The front desk staffs are very friendly in helping me in renting a bicycle and using their sauna. A great place to unwind and relax with long cycling path. The breakfast is acceptable and filled with choices. The front desk staffs also informed me that they do sell pizza when I come back late one night as everywhere nearby was closed"

"First of all, we have to say that the room was neat and clean. The breakfast was also fine and the location was great. However: We booked a suite with a city view for 4 days. We got a smaller (mini) suite facing the inner courtyard, which we hadn't realized until then because we were given a ”suite” when we checked in. It was only after three days that we realized that we hadn't actually gotten the room we had booked - unfortunately too late. In addition, although we had a small kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle and microwave, there were no plates or glasses, which we had to ask about at reception. The hotel says that it doesn't clean the room until after the second night. This wasn't a problem for us and so we prepared the room accordingly after the second night so that the cleaning staff could work without interruption. In the evening we realized that no one was there. The reception was so full that we couldn't let anyone know. We also assumed that someone would come on the third day at least. The next morning we put up a sign on the door asking for cleaning. In short, no one came again. When we finally went to reception, we were told that this was an external service provider who had carried out the cleaning according to the documents, which of course was not the case! Other guests had also complained about this. Since we had already paid and therefore could not get a refund, we were treated to a drink at the bar and a chocolate bar for breakfast. So our ”suite” was not cleaned once in 4 nights, let alone the trash can emptied. The highlight was when checking out, when I was suddenly asked to pay a bill. After I told them that I had already done this in advance, the receptionist said that this was just a blocking of the amount but that I still had to pay the regular amount. What surprised me most was that the amount did not match my booking at all. When I pointed out again that I had already paid, the receptionist said he had confused me with another guest and that I could leave..."

"Lage im Stadtteil Drewitz unweit der Autobahn und mit sehr gutem Tramanschluss (alle 10min). Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, wenn auch nicht mehr neuester Style. In diesem Hotel wird auch noch täglich gereinigt. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, und bietet alles, was man sich wünscht. Der Service ist sehr gut. Auch das Restaurant Journal ist für das Abendessen zu empfehlen."

"This is new hotel, conveniently located very close to the central train station in Potsdam. Take the exit to Friedrich-Engels-Straße, turn right and you already see the new nice looking building about 300 m away on the other side of the street ”Lange Brücke” (long bridge). The reception and breakfast area is on the first floor (Erdgeschoss), well lighted with large windows. Everything looks new, nice and neat. (No worries, no smell at all from construction materials or new furniture, also not in the corridors or in my room). The standard room I booked is small with minimalistic furniture, but I like it simple anyway. The tiles in the bathroom are real cool and nice looking, so is the carpet and color arrangement in the floors. The staff was friendly, but you need to be a bit patient, as several if them are new and still being trained on the software to check in. 😊 No doubt, next trip to Potsdam I will chose the same hotel."

"The hotel is super located: walking to the Park Sanssouci, to the DB train station and to the bus stop. The rooms are well equipped and clean. Breakfast for 14 euros is rich. The parking is short (deep garage and parking places before and behind the house; cost 8 Euro per night). Then there is also a shortage of room at breakfast if the majority wants to breakfast at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The service is effortful and friendly."

"First of all, the location was good because it was right in front of the train station. It's quite a distance, but I walked to Sanssouci during my break. The picture is the view from the train station, but what you see is not Sanssouci, but a different building. If you go that far, there are restaurants and cafes nearby."

"The layout of the room is reasonable, the apartment bathroom I live in is quite large, larger than my colleagues, so there will be surprises when choosing the room type and the appropriate high price."
