"A luxurious hotel with excellent interior design. The rooms are a bit dated, but there's still a colonial charm, even in the slightly worn furniture. We stayed in October. It was very uncrowded. The hotel was empty. We explored everything. We used the fitness center—there's a good selection of exercise machines. The hotel has live music at various times. Animals roam the hotel; we saw a jerboa, rabbits, mongooses, a monitor lizard, and monkeys in the trees by the golf course. Ask for half board—there's nowhere to dine nearby. The ocean is mesmerizing in its power and beauty. The waves roar like thunder. We didn't swim; the red flag was on, and the waves were nearly 3 meters high, with sand. Overall, we were pleased with our stay."

"We had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is definitely worth staying at. We booked our Safari hotel last minute and were lucky enough to be checked in right after we arrived. Our Safari driver was excellent, and we managed to see almost all the animals. Breakfast and dinner weren't entirely to our taste, but they were passable. It's highly recommended. The most common animals we saw at the hotel were crocodiles and lizards."

"Absolutely loved this hotel! The natural environment here is fantastic. It's just a 10-15 minute drive from Tissa Lake. I arrived in the morning to the peaceful sounds of crickets and frogs. It was also a full moon that night, which made the scenery even more stunning. The swimming pool is impressively large too. I stayed on the ground floor, which meant I could step right out onto the lawn from my room. The hotel offers great value for money; the prices are reasonable and the rooms are quite spacious. It's noticeably cheaper than hotels situated closer to Yala National Park. I highly recommend booking the breakfast and dinner package. There aren't many other dining options nearby, and more importantly, the buffet is absolutely delicious!!! They offer a great variety of Western dishes, incredibly sweet fruits, and even sushi, making it very suitable for the Chinese palate. For our morning safari, we requested a packed meal from the hotel. It was incredibly generous, including water, various drinks, juice, sandwiches, and cake – truly more than we could finish! Upon our return, breakfast was still ongoing. I explained to a staff member that I was feeling quite hot and asked if I could get a drink. She was very accommodating, assuring me it was absolutely fine, but did clarify that since we had taken a packed breakfast, we wouldn't be able to have another full meal in the dining area."

"The room was large, but there were very few electrical outlets; all the outlets were plugged into light sockets, so you had to unplug them to charge your power bank or phone. The room was dimly lit, which might be the design, but we were worried about missing anything while packing our things. The food options were limited, but you could try their buffet, which wasn't expensive. The service was poor, and the staff's English wasn't very good. My friend got bitten on the finger by an insect in the bathroom, causing it to swell and turn red. When we went to the front desk for help, they were indifferent and said they didn't know if the bite had occurred on the hotel grounds. They didn't treat the wound immediately and even sent someone to the room to check what kind of insect it was. We just wanted some alcohol to treat the bite. What was supposed to be a pleasant trip turned sour. It's quite close to the zoo, about 15 minutes away, but we'll probably not stay here next time; staying by the lake would be more convenient."

"Wild Coast Tented Lodge by Relais & Châteaux. This luxury wilderness resort was founded by Dilmah's renowned tea company. All accommodations are tented, giving our child a taste of super-sized tent camping. The extra bed for children was a fun touch. As our butler said, 'I'm sure she'll love it,' and she did! The meals are all-inclusive, covering three delicious and hearty meals a day (lunch can be enjoyed on check-in day or after check-out the next day), afternoon tea, sunset cocktail hour, and a daily jeep safari in the national park. It cost around 9K per night for two adults and one child. The resort is located within Yala National Park, so you'll frequently spot monkeys, deer, lizards, and squirrels, and even elephants occasionally visit. For any movement between 7 PM and 7 AM, you need to call staff to accompany you. The biggest advantage is skipping the safari queue. There's a dedicated fast track, and seeing dozens, if not hundreds, of other vehicles waiting to register made us feel quite smug. However, to spot a leopard 🐆, you still need to wake up at 4:30 AM."

"A very convenient hotel 30 mins from Yala national park for Safari (which the were kind enough to arrange for us). Nice pool with views over the lagoon and a great spot to sit and watch the sunset, birds flying home for bed/bats on their way out for the night! Staff are great, food was good."
