"Lovely hotel for the price. Clean linen and towels in excellent condition. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom could do with a makeover, but worked for us. Perhaps better if the hot water was somewhat hotter. Everything else was fine. Evening arrival from the airport Grab about 25 ringit, morning Grab to catch the commuter train to the international border about 10 ringit. I still don't understand why the town has changed its name? Perhaps it's channeling Indonesia where we arrived from? Happy to visit/stay again."

"Hotel is nice & still well maintained. It’s located right next to the airport so you could see the aeroplane flying in/out from our room window. Parking is outdoor & free. The morning breakfast buffet had quite a selection of food too. The room is very spacious! Equipped with a large screen smart TV so you can still enjoy your netflix/youtube."

"Virtually no service to comment. The room is spacious and clean. The hotel uses self check-in. The hotel is without lift or luggage lift, beware if you are bringing a large and heavy luggage. There is a lot of pesticides aerosol available at the first floor, I guess the entire building is troubled by cockroaches, and yes my room also has one cockroach trap near the dust bin, but I am lucky enough, there is no signs of it during my stay. However, my room is full of pesticides smells."

"Location wise is very good. I would describe it as a not very rundown 4-5star hotel. Room was huge for the price. Just the cleanliness can be improved a ton. Found a few hair in the bathtub upon checking in. Few staining on the carpet, some staining on the wallpaper as well.  If you want huge and classy room without minding the cleanliness. Then this is for you"

"Well service standard excellent I'm very happy.. With the check in process very quick.. The room was nice and cozy, the bed was so comfortable even the shower was great.. With very good & strong water pressure.. Very pleased with almost everything except for the breakfast a little bit disappointed & most of the food serve not much verity & strangely cold with most of the food warmer not working or switch off.. Well anyway I had a pleasant stay.. Thank you very much.. The Jerai Hotel.. Alor Star.. Keep up the good work 👍💪"

"We had a wonderful stay at Star City Hotel for Hari Raya! As always, we look forward to staying here whenever we visit our hometown. The hotel is comfortable, convenient, and the staff are friendly. This time, our studio was very close to the air-conditioning compressor, which was quite loud – as a light sleeper, it made sleeping a bit difficult. We did request a room change, but due to the busy Raya period, no rooms were available, which we completely understand. Overall, still a great experience and we will definitely return!"

"A front desk staff member should be able to understand the customer’s needs and follow clear instructions. On that day, I had three bookings. I specifically informed the staff to prioritize my first VIP guest, who is elderly and required immediate access to the room. However, the staff chose to process all the bookings slowly one by one instead of following the instruction given. As a result, my elderly guest had to wait unnecessarily for a long time. In addition, when I entered my own room, I found that the toilet was not properly cleaned and there was hair inside. This was quite disappointing and does not reflect the expected standard of cleanliness. I hope the management can look into this matter and improve the service and housekeeping standards."
