The hotel is right next to a shopping mall, which was great because I didn't need an umbrella even when it rained. I also walked to Udon Town Night Market and thoroughly enjoyed it. "Napalai Hotel, Udon Thani 🇹🇭 | Great Value for the Price I recently stayed at Napalai Hotel in Udon Thani, and overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience — especially considering the price I paid. 📍 Location The hotel is in a convenient location and not too far from Udon Thani Airport. Getting around is easy, and Grab is readily available, so having your own car isn’t really necessary. 🏨 First Impression & Check-in As soon as I arrived, I could tell that Napalai is one of Udon Thani’s more established, traditional hotels. The property may not feel brand-new or modern, but it has the atmosphere of a classic full-service hotel. Check-in was quick and straightforward. There was a THB 500 refundable key deposit required at check-in. 🛏️ The Room The room came with all the basic amenities I needed, including shower gel, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Everything was well prepared and practical for a short stay. There was also a complimentary minibar, which was a nice little bonus. 🍳 Breakfast Breakfast was actually one of the highlights of my stay. The selection was quite impressive, especially for a hotel at this price point. There was a good mix of Western dishes, Thai food, and local specialties, along with desserts and fresh fruit. There were plenty of choices, and it felt like a proper hotel breakfast rather than just a simple morning meal. 💰 Value for Money I paid around THB 800 for the night, including breakfast, and at that price, I think Napalai Hotel offers very good value. It may not be the newest hotel in town, but if you’re looking for a convenient location, a comfortable stay, complete basic amenities, and a surprisingly good breakfast without spending too much, this is definitely a solid option in Udon Thani. "The hotel rooms and lobby are beautiful and fragrant, but the rooms offer no soundproofing at all. If your room is facing the garden, be careful late at night, as the bass from nearby pubs will drive you crazy until 3 AM or even later. On the second day, the staff cleaned the room but didn't wash the coffee cups, and the tidying was subpar. The breakfast offered both buffet and à la carte options, which looked varied and interesting, but there were way too many pork dishes. I'm puzzled if they have their own pig farm, wondering why they don't offer other types of meat. Overall, we felt we paid too much for the room; what we got in return was not worth the price. It's a good thing it was paid for by the company; if I had to pay myself, I would be very upset and regretful."

"The hotel offers good value for the price, and the staff were generally helpful and polite. It is also located very close to the airport — less than 10 minutes away — which can be convenient for early flights. However, there were several issues during my stay. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, and although the wet and dry areas were technically separated, the floor design did not drain water properly. Since the floor levels were almost the same and there was no proper barrier, water spread into the dry area every time I showered. Transportation was also quite inconvenient. It was very difficult to book a Grab in this area, and I had to wait a long time before finding a driver. If you plan to stay here for an early morning flight, I would recommend leaving extra time for transportation. The hotel does provide a taxi service for around 200 THB, but the response was quite vague and depended on driver availability, so it may not be ideal for travelers in a hurry. Personally, staying in the city center might be a better option, as the area around the hotel is quite quiet and there is not much nearby."

"The room is overall good, fairly clean. The hotel looks new. It's a short stay at this price. There are receptionists all the time. Disadvantages: The room is not soundproof. There is noise in the room. There is no work chair. There is a refrigerator, air conditioner, hot water, shampoo, soap, but no hair dryer."

"Check in and check out were both fast and efficient, and no deposit was required which is a huge plus, GSAs were polite. The room is clean, and spacious enough, and the bed and pillows are comfortable, and the room full of all the amenities that you need. However the TV is not a smart TV, no Netflix or YouTube, and mostly Thai channels only. The biggest issue is the air conditioning. Guests have no control over the AC in the room, you cannot adjust the temperature, fan speed, or turn it on or off yourself. Even simple situations, like wanting to turn the AC off temporarily, require calling reception, this is very inconvenient. Guests have different comfort needs throughout the day and night, for example while showering and you wanna turn it off to avoid catching a cold. It is not possible without calling reception. Having to contact the front desk every time for such basic adjustments is not really guest-friendly. The gym is very small and has almost no machines, so it’s quite limited. Restaurant staff were friendly, the food was good, and room service was good."

"The hotel is ok, recommended. It's clean and has breakfast. Or a standard breakfast, there's an elevator, and there are lots of food stalls near the hotel. The location is a bit far from the center of the city, about a 15-minute walk. I like Udonthani, I'll come back someday."
