I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS but I can’t. We are a military family moving cross country to our new base. We booked this hotel because it’s part of Wyndham and I’ve stayed at others and have had a great experience. My husband checked in and let them know I was in the car with my Dogs as One is my PTSD Dog. The hotel checked him in and refrained from letting him know, their only working elevator is VERY slow and takes 3-5 mins for it to actually reached the floor selected. Even though it has already stopped. For ANYONE, they should be letting them know because it can feel like the elevator it STUCK! But especially someone with PTSD, or another type of MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE! Especially because it’s TEXAS, it’s hot here, and there is NO AIR CONDITIONING in the elevator nor where the stairs are. So there were 5 grown adults on the SMALL elevator with ZERO AIR and I started having a PAIN ATTACK!! The lady on the elevator with us, tried to lighten the mood and help by kinda half laugh and said that “it’s okay this happens ALL THE TIME! Just give it a couple mins!” ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?? I threw my stuff in my room and went down stairs. I was VISIBLY UPSET and asked for a manager. I was told it a stoned half awake face “there isn’t one.” I told him I had PTSD and what had just happened in the elevator. And asked WHY WE WERE NOT MADE AWARE upon check in. When they were told I had PTSD! Instead of offering an apology, we were met with arguments about them not knowing I had PTSD. That they weren’t told. The guy kept ROLLING HIS DAMN EYES AT ME, like I was annoying and boring him. I was about to have a FULL BLOWN episode. Instead the only way I half got his attention, was asking for his and the lady’s name. He asked me why instead of just giving me the names. I replied “I’ll just deal with this in the morning. I want both your names now.” He YET AGAIN ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME, reluctantly gave me their names. And again, NEVER EVEN OFFERED AN APOLOGY!! There was only one younger kid that was kind and attentive, when he saw me walk in the back door and saw I was struggling with carrying my dogs cage. As my right hand is in a brace. Young boy should get a raise and take the place of the 2 Nincompoops “running” the receptionist desk. They have ZERO personality and have ZERO customers service. Honestly, coming from someone that hates doing this, THEY SHOULD BE FIRED!! And I’m VERY tempted to call CODE ENFORCEMENT IN THE MORNING TO COME CHECH THIS PLACE OUT. Because elevators shouldn’t be running like that.

Visited here recently mid week and it is located conveniently off of Hwy. 281 in a area with loads of restaurants and a Walmart. Parking right in front and they also have a covered drive at the front door. There wasn't anyone at the desk when we arrived but did notice a sign that they were busy elsewhere and would return soon. In about 10 minutes someone showed up, apologized for the wait, and checked us in quickly. Although there was not an abundance of vehicles in the parking lot and we only saw a couple of people during our stay, they seemed to be limited on the available rooms when we requested a certain section. Maybe they are short staffed and just booking everyone on one floor. They have two elevators and there was never a wait for either. They allow pets up to 75 lbs. and there is a $75 charge. The room was clean and had vinyl plank in bath and entry BUT the rest of the room had low pile carpeting. It seems it might have been better with the vinyl plank in the entire room, especially since pets are allowed. The room had a microwave, small refrigerator, chaise lounge, coffee maker, desk etc. The TV worked fine but limited channels. We didn't use the pool but it looked standard and there are a few picnic tables off from it under some trees as well as some pool seating. You can hear the noise from the highway if you are on that end wing closest to 281. The noise level was VERY LOW and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower was perfect with a good shower head with great water pressure. They serve a continental breakfast from 6-10 am and the dining room is fairly large. The offerings were oatmeal, cereals, bagels, yogurt, bacon, small egg/cheese omelet, and roasted red potatoes. I was looking for biscuits but didn't find any. They also had waffles and pancakes along with milk, coffee and assortment of juices. Surely something for everyone. There also is a section by the front counter that has snack food and drinks to purchase. All areas were kept up nicely which is a plus since this is the only hotel in this area.

While this property is well located and looks good from the outside, once you get into the rooms you see another story. Our room, while clean, was in disrepair. Here is a list of the issue we found Kitchen The ice maker did not work Only one burner on the stove worked There was missing silverware Some silverware showed obvious damage Bathroom The light fixture in the bathroom was VERY rusty The towel hanger on the wall would fall off each time you hung a towel on it There were obvious repairs in the walls that were done shoddily The toilet was very difficult to flush Living Space Both beds appeard to have damaged mattress/box spring...one side of each bed was sunken in The air conditioner had difficulty cooling the room Bedside phone wouldnt' work...I needed to call the front desk and they couldn't hear me Other Someone on my floor was smoking tobacco and *********. The smell made it's way into our room. It was reported to the front desk and nothing was done. When you pay to stay at a smoke free property, that's exactly what you should expect to get....no smoke...of any kind. Staff The staff at this property are the sole saving grace. We found them to be pleasant and helpful (except for the smoking issue). Caviat Emptor.

My husband and I stayed at Red Roof Inn, New Braunfels back in Dec. From the call to confirm pet policy to check out was a great experience. Lady on the phone was very nice and let us know they would love for us to bring our dog as the understand how dogs are part of the family. Great price and really spacious room as we booked the superior king. Front desk just really knew how to make us feel welcomed and was very friendly and always smiling. Definitely will be visiting again soon.

I was scared at first to what I might find after reading a few negative reviews but I am so happy I decided to give them a try. This hotel was great. Upon arriving on 12-23-22 the daytime front desk clerk was amazing. She was so welcoming. All staff I encountered while there was great. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit. Keep up the good Job.
