GGuest User・The location is superb. It's easily accessible by public transport like trains and buses, and many major tourist attractions are within walking distance.
・The facilities are generally clean, and despite being a dormitory, I was able to sleep comfortably without any issues.
・The staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful, explaining things in simple English to a Japanese person who didn't understand Spanish.

GGuest UserThe service was very good. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic. They recommended tourist attractions and restaurants to me and cared about me as a traveler. They also had a pleasant chat with us. However, the room was very poor. There were about three rooms with 12 people sharing one bathroom and toilet. The quality of the roommates was average. The bed was very hard. There was a strange smell in the room. I didn't sleep well all night.

GGuest UserThis was by far the best hostel I stayed at, and also the cheapest! It's a large operation, run with ruthless Catholic discipline. It's very clean, very ordered, very comfortable. Compared to other hostels as well it does not run a catchpenny operation - linen is free, breakfast is free, luggage storage is free, etc. All these things are used by other hostels to up to double the cost of your stay. The staff were very pleasant, and spoke English. One night there was a customer who was unruly - refused to turn their light off at about 3am - the staff came, remonstrated with him, and eventually (he wouldn't relent) told him to leave the hostel. In other hostels you would be left to suffer the tyranny of an ignorant customer. Booking is understandably very tight - book early and for your whole stay. After a disastrous previous hostel in Rome, this was a necessary restoration of my faith in travelling.

GGuest UserThe hostel is clean and tidy even the bathroom although it's the sharing one but superb. The staff is super friendly and they are great in English so don't worry about it. And yet they had free stuff that was put on the receptionist. But if you want to travel to the centre of Barcelona, this hostel is pretty far from it. But so far it's awesome experience

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a pretty good location. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a bus stop is conveniently located right across the street. Plus, within about a 10-minute walk in different directions, you can find two subway lines, making transportation incredibly convenient.
There's a safe in the dorm room, but you'll need to bring your own padlock. The bathroom features separate shower and toilet areas, which is great as it doesn't disturb others. However, the toilet cubicle itself is quite small. Besides the in-room facilities, each floor also has additional toilets and shower rooms.
I stayed on the 5th floor. The room had great natural light and was very quiet at night. My roommates were all very nice. The only minor drawback was the absence of bed curtains.

CCHOW LONG HANGThere is thief in this hostel!
I almost lost my phone but luckily the police find it, it is hide somewhere else in the hostel, but there is no direct evidence to charge that suspect, all the hostel can do is to kick him out. Another Korean women are that lucky as the police couldn’t find her phone at last.
The staff are really helpful when dealing with this issue and I really appreciate that. The staff did warn all guest to be careful for their own things and make sure to lock all of them in the locker the night before. The owner of the hostel also offer me help immediately during the whole process. Thank you again.
About this hostel, the location is really convenient and with a fair price in the city centre. The kitchen is a bit small but it is acceptable. The shower room is okay for me and the shower room is clean in general.
However, for the bed-set & towel you will have to pay 3 euro for it. Else, you can only sleep with a pillow with no bedsheet during your stay. If you pay card & the amount is less than 120 euro, they will charge extra 5% fee. So you better have some cash.
Like all the other hostel, you should be aware of your own valuables and lock them up in the locker.
Overall, I would recommend this hostel despite the sad incident happen on me.

Also had seating space at reception, games, water dispenser, microwave and quite a few other facilities. If I'll come again to spain will definitely book it. Highly recommended.

LOCATION ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The hostel is basically located on the Ramblas so in a super central location. You can really reach the main attractions by walk from here. For example The ”Casa Batllo'” is literally next to the hostel
CLEANLINESS ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rooms and toilets were pretty clean, nothing to complain about
SERVICE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Also the service was great. We had a problem with the toilet door in our room and they immediately sent someone to fix it.
ACTIVITIES ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is in my opinion the best part of this hostel. You can join their Whatsapp group and you have basically everyday some social activities to do. From bar hopping to Sagrada Familia tour. The way they organized these activities is very well structures and I've never seen something like this anywhere else. Once you're on the WhatsApp group, forget about being alone or wondering what to do
QUALITY/PRICE RATIO ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Considering its location and the fact that it covers all the basic needs, the price is absolutely fair. In other places you would pay double the price
In conclusion I definitely recommend this hostel if you want to meet other travelers, party with them and stay in the city center without breaking the bank!

I stayed at Safestay Barcelona Gothic from June 17–18, 2025, in a 12-bed mixed dorm. The experience was mostly positive.
✅ Pros:
The location is excellent — just a 5-minute walk from the metro, which made it easy to get around.
If you have an early flight (like mine at 08:30), this is a good place to stay as you can easily reach the airport in time.
The dorm, bathrooms, and common areas were all neat and clean.
Wi-Fi worked well throughout my stay.
The staff was friendly and spoke good English.
Definitely value for money.
⚠️ Cons:
The check-in time listed in my confirmation email was 14:00, but they didn’t allow check-in until 15:00. This was a bit inconvenient.
Breakfast was not included in the booking.
Overall, it’s a decent and budget-friendly option in a central area, especially for solo or budget travellers. I would recommend it for short stays.
