"This hotel offers a tranquil environment and a great stay experience. The rooms are clean and tidy, with an antique and elegant decor. My room even had a small courtyard and a lake view. The breakfast spread was extensive. I believe this is the most beautiful hotel in Xitang, perfect for a vacation with family. It's also conveniently located right next to the scenic area, making it easy to walk everywhere. Highly recommended!"

"This B&B is located inside the scenic area, and our room faced the street. We heard tricycles and electric scooters driving by all night, and the sound of their wheels on the cobblestone street was incredibly disruptive, making it impossible to sleep. Perhaps the rooms facing the water would be quieter. This completely shattered my perception of the peaceful and gentle ambiance I'd experienced in other Jiangnan water towns like Wuzhen and Nanxun. The hotel's location is otherwise decent, about a 3-4 minute walk from Sujia Alley. We arrived by bus from Wuzhen, and walking from the visitor center was quite inconvenient. While the room was generally clean and tidy, there were mosquitoes, and quite large ones at that. They did provide disposable towels, which was a nice touch. The proprietress at the front desk kindly helped us carry our luggage upstairs, and the hotel helped us purchase tickets for 70 yuan."

"I cycled to Xitang and chose the voco Hotel. The environment was excellent – clean and tidy, and the service was warm. Delia at the front desk and the concierge were very professional and helped me a lot. The only downsides were some issues with the facilities. First, the sliding door was drafty. Since my room faced a courtyard, it got quite cold at night, and the cold air kept coming in. I contacted engineering, but they couldn't fix it. Housekeeping provided a bath mat to block it, which helped a little. Second, around 1 AM, the shower kept fluctuating between hot and cold. Someone with a weaker immune system could easily catch a cold. I highly recommend they investigate and repair this issue quickly! Overall, I wouldn't highly recommend this hotel; the experience didn't quite match the price point."

"I brought my elderly parents to Xitang for Women's Day, and a friend recommended this hotel inside the scenic area. It truly has a beautiful Chinese garden design, with winding paths that create a wonderful sense of seclusion. We stayed in a balcony room, which even had a swing chair. It was incredibly pleasant to swing and chat with my family as the sun set. The room's wet/dry separation design was very practical, and the room service was exceptionally attentive. It was also very convenient to walk into the core scenic area. We had a panoramic view of Xitang bathed in sunshine and later, illuminated by fishing boats and lights. Watching people in traditional Hanfu attire wander through the scenic area felt like traveling a thousand years back in time, perfectly embodying the creative concept behind the 'Guangnian' (Lightyear) Hotel name!"

"Finally, I stayed here on my own. I'd always booked for clients before, but this time, I brought a friend along to experience a river-view room in the heart of Xitang. It was worth the trip. We also saw the flower boats. There weren't many, only six, but they were perfect for the setting. Interlude: I asked the landlady to borrow two beautiful fire goblets, and then my friend dropped them on the floor. The first thing the landlady asked was if we had any scratches, and she didn't ask for compensation."

"We had a great stay. The guesthouse host was incredibly welcoming; they even went out of their way to meet and pick us up. They also helped us purchase discounted tickets. By communicating our arrival time and mode of transport in advance, they were able to suggest the most convenient travel options, which was incredibly helpful."

"***November 2025 Stay Experience*** I received a call immediately after booking to confirm my arrival time and arrange ticket purchases (discounts available, free for seniors over 70). A friendly staff member picked me up and helped with my luggage; they responded promptly to any questions. Regarding the environment, I really loved the courtyard and cabins. Sitting in the courtyard watching the swaying trees and listening to the wind and birdsong was the epitome of idyllic living. However, the reality is that there are mosquitoes, and it gets quite chilly in late autumn and early winter. The duplex layout was a highlight when I chose the room, but I wouldn't recommend it for older people. Getting up at night requires climbing stairs to the first floor, which isn't very safe. The bathroom doesn't have a door, so water splashes onto the sink area. There's no absorbent mat either; I suggest improvements. Also, the air conditioner is extremely noisy, but when it's off, it's very cold and damp, and the blankets feel damp. The staff member mentioned that the noise seems particularly loud when it's quiet here. I explained the situation to the young lady, and she changed my room to ”West Window Dream” for the second night. Although the atmosphere and design were slightly inferior, the standing air conditioner was powerful, and she even added a blanket and an electric blanket, which satisfied my comfort needs! "What a beautiful hotel, from outside to inside. It's located just outside Xitang Scenic Area, but they have a backdoor through the garden where the staff can escort and bring guests thru so you don't have to pay again for a ticket to enter the attraction. Every bit of the room is spacious, from the bathroom to shower area to the bedroom. I love how the bed faces a full ceiling to floor window where you can wake up to a lovely view while still lying in bed. The bed and pillows are firm and comfy. The water pressure in the shower is good but hard to control the temperature. The hair dryer is a little weak and took a while to dry my short hair. The room also came with a generous plate of fresh fruits. Service was excellent and friendly. Breakfast buffet was simple, nothing fancy but the usual staples are there and food quality is ok. The live noodles station was the best for me, can't go wrong with hot noodles soup & wantons, especially on a cold morning. Was given a beautiful tea cup as a farewell gift at check-out. Overall it was a great stay and I highly recommend anyone planning to stay a night at Xitang to stay here!"
