"This homestay was perfect for our needs, clean, spacious, comfortable and close to the entrance to the Stone Forest. We arrived late and notified the host who waited up for us no problem, and he had turned on our AC to warm up the room which was so nice. I forgot to take photos of the room but it was large and had a little tea/reading nook just as described in the listing. We got to see the Stone Forest with almost no other people because we got there so early!"

"We stopped there on our way from Kunming to Yuanyang to split the trip and to enjoy the silver stone forest. Such a good pick we had by choosing the Mijia Inn! It's located in a quiet neighbourhood close to the silver stone forest entrance (~5km). The rooms are nice, well equipped, clean and the beds comfortable. We even had a balcony with seats to rest in. The common places are also very nice. There is at least one good restaurant nearby (as we only tried this one), along the main road; and a 7/11 equivalent just facing the house. The young lady managing the house speaks English; she's very nice and helpful. Definitely the place to stop when sleeping in Shilin!"

"The room was decorated in a fresh style. It's located in a villa complex near the Stone Forest. The owner was so helpful! We drove there and sent us directions in advance. He took us on a three- to four-hour walk through the Stone Forest, offering free guided tours and visiting areas that regular tour groups wouldn't visit. He also took us lots of beautiful photos. For dinner, he even took us to a local horse meat restaurant, which was delicious and affordable!"

"The hotel is located in the center of Shilin County and has a large parking lot. The rooms are spacious and bright, with simple and stylish interiors. The bedding is clean, soft and comfortable. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas and very clean. A buffet breakfast is also available. But there are no consumer items in the room, so why do you need to pay a deposit of 100 yuan? It's a waste of time. I have been here for more than 20 days from Jiangsu. Some 5-star hotel rooms have consumer items and do not require a deposit."

"The service is so bad👎🏻! I went to the hotel and paid an extra 1,100 yuan to upgrade the room type. I brought 6 children with me and asked if there was breakfast and what time it was! Just tell me 9:30! No indication of how far it is from the hotel! The next morning a group of people got up and walked over, but they didn't arrive even after walking for 10 minutes. When they arrived, it was past meal time and nothing was provided! I take my kids out with my friends every month! This is the first time I encountered a hotel with such poor service!"

GGuest UserA genuine mosquito-free garden and a large terrace, with unlimited drinks, snacks, fruit, and tea. Located on a small slope about 100 meters from Torch Square, it offers a quiet retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. Every room in the guesthouse has large floor-to-ceiling windows, is simple, bright, clean, and cozy. The overall temperature is between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius, very comfortable. You can sit on the terrace and in the first-floor garden and enjoy the blue sky, white clouds, and starry night. There are quite a few restaurants in the village, so ordering takeout is convenient. I heard that long-stay guests can use the guesthouse kitchen. The landlady is very nice. If you like a large outdoor space, you can book this place without hesitation.

GGuest UserThe B&B, which I didn’t really have any expectations for, really gave me a big surprise! The boss is an elegant person at first glance. There are flowers everywhere on the corridor. There is a small garden on the roof, and there is also a reading place. If my time is not limited, I might just spend some time looking at the flowers and reading. The B&B is right next to Ashima Square. I thought it would be noisy, but the music stopped playing in the square after ten o'clock in the evening. Maybe it is because the glass sound insulation effect is good, and there is almost no noise at night. There is a food court next to it, so the problem of eating during the Chinese New Year is solved. The free rock sugar oranges are delicious, a caring boss! The possibility of traveling here again in the future is very low, but if friends come here, I will definitely recommend it to them.

SSarah from ItalyThis was by far the BEST accommodation we stayed in China!! We booked two rooms because I'm travelling with my sister and her boyfriend. Both rooms were extremely clean, the best comfortable beds ever, hot shower, air con, all the toiletries were good quality and the staff were amazing!!!! They helped us out with everything!! Even though they don't speak English or any other language (like elsewhere in China), they were extremely helpful and we managed to communicate with the translator. We stayed two nights but we would have loved to stay longer which was not possible because visa's expiring soon. When we got there, they made us delicious noodles with beef and vegetables and my brother in law is still dreaming to get the same tasty noodles somewhere else in China 😊 We don't know the names of the hosts, maybe they are wife and husband (we are not sure) but surely this was the top accommodation and treatment we have received in China so we would like to thank you two again for everything you have done for us. We are sure your next guests will enjoy their stay at your place just the same as we did. Thank you from Sarah, Myriam and Fabio.

TThe Domestic China TravelerGreat location that it is near a lot of food places, a store, and the Stone Forest. Even though I already visited Stone Forest on my visit to Kunming in 2018, this was still a good room in that I get my privacy. Hotel workers were nice in that they gave me more water and wanted to make my bed even though I didn't need it. I liked how it had a heater in there to keep me warm whenever the room got too cold. The thing that I was unsure of is how much freedom and accessibility I get in being able to cook things in the kitchen at times and I was confused about whether I was allowed to eat the food that the cook makes, or it is only for guests that order food and pay for it from him. Sometimes the cook is unpredictable in that I don't know when he comes to cook between the lunch and dinner hours. The front desk women were friendly and helpful in giving me information about certain things. I appreciate it when they loaned me a phone charger temporarily when mine broke until I can get a new replacement one. Thank You for that. The only thing I would have to say, is that it is too far from the city center from the train station in where I need to be in order to catch the train to Hekou and cross the border into Vietnam.

The horse meat downstairs is really delicious and not expensive. I will recommend it to friends in the future. The room is clean and hygienic. The only problem is The good thing is that there are no windows, the sink has no floor drain, and the air conditioner in the room does not have a water outlet and is connected by a bucket. I heard the sound of dripping water all night, but it is good to book such a clean room at this price.

The place is somewhat away from the main road and the nights are really quiet, you can even hear the crickets!
