"1. **Location & Surrounding Amenities** The hotel boasts an excellent location, just two blocks away from Muroran's best-stocked Don Quijote. This Don Quijote has a large fresh food supermarket on the first floor, popular with locals for daily shopping, and it also offers tax-free shopping. Both morning and evening visits saw very few people, the tax-free counter processed quickly, and the staff spoke good English with excellent service. Muroran isn't a large city, but its 'Eight Views of Muroran' are stunning, and the local residents are generally exceptionally friendly. While most locals have basic English skills, all service staff in supermarkets, drugstores, markets, restaurants, and hotels are incredibly patient and friendly towards foreign tourists. The entire city leaves a wonderfully comfortable impression. Driving from the hotel to various scenic spots in Muroran is direct and doesn't involve detours. There are also three large supermarkets and a shopping mall (with MUJI, Uniqlo, a drugstore, and a large supermarket) nearby, making it easy to stock up with a short drive. Within a 1km walk, you can find local famous eateries like Aji no Daio Curry Ramen and Muroran Kushitori. If you're feeling lazy, a one-minute walk to the right from the hotel entrance leads to a Lawson convenience store and an affordable conveyor belt sushi restaurant, which offers incredible value, even cheaper than Zensho in Shanghai. On the day of our check-in, we stumbled upon the annual Muroran Nakajima Festival. The street below the hotel was closed off for taiko drumming and mikoshi (portable shrine) parades (reportedly all spontaneous citizen participation). We had a full view from our window, which was a delightful surprise. 2. **Check-in & Front Desk Service (Best service atmosphere of all hotels this trip)** The hotel facilities are very new. The lobby entrance features a public lounge area where you can enjoy free tea and coffee. Self-service check-in is available, with staff always nearby to assist. A young male staff member, despite limited English, was extremely enthusiastic. When communication was difficult, an older female staff member proactively brought a translation device to help, maintaining patience throughout. The entire hotel staff was the most welcoming, polite, and accommodating of all accommodations on this trip. They don't typically clean rooms daily, only tidying up on the day of check-out; when we proactively requested room cleaning during our stay, the cleaning staff, despite the language barrier, were very friendly and helped tidy the room. The service experience was exceptional. 3. **Room Hardware Experience** All our prior requests were met. The room was very clean and of a moderate size (small by Japanese standards). The bed was large and comfortable. Complimentary water and dessert (a bit sweet) were provided. The living experience was well-balanced with no shortcomings. 4. **Public Hot Spring (Hotel's biggest bonus, far surpassing other onsen ryokans)** The hot spring facilities are top-notch: two main indoor baths, one outdoor rotenburo (open-air bath), and three or four private small tubs, suitable for solo, couple, or group bathing with excellent privacy. * **Comprehensive Safety Design**: The women's bath has a dedicated keycard entry. All changing rooms are equipped with lockable lockers, allowing you to secure valuables and clothing. * **Spacious Shower Area**: Each shower station comes standard with face wash, cleansing oil, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, so you don't need to bring extra amenities – very convenient. * **Powerful Hair Dryers**: The hair dryers were strong, drying hair the fastest among all hot spring hotels this trip, leading to high turnover efficiency in the vanity area, with almost no waiting even during peak hours. * **Post-Bath Relaxation**: After soaking, you can enjoy free popsicles, read manga, and use massage chairs to relax. In the mornings, you can even get Yakult after your bath. I grabbed one every morning after breakfast – the attention to detail is superb. 5. **Breakfast Dining Experience** The restaurant service was attentive, with almost no waiting time. The food selection was rich, and the taste was on point. Besides seafood bowls, they offered Muroran's local specialty skewers and Hokkaido's classic soup curry, among other representative local delicacies. You can try a variety of Hokkaido's specialty snacks all at once. The taste was consistently good and delicious, perfect for a leisurely meal. 6. **Value for Money Summary** As a Dormy Inn chain hotel, this branch is affordably priced and offers excellent value within the Dormy Inn series. With new facilities, heartwarming service, a superb hot spring experience, and outstanding breakfast, there are virtually no downsides. It was the most satisfying hotel of our entire 10-day chartered car trip to Hokkaido."

"The warm response of the caretaker's uncle and aunt was very good. Since the partition is only the wall and the curtain, there may be some anxiety for women? There is a women's shower room. I am very grateful for this price for sleeping and breakfast. I was really really happy that my uncle and aunt treated me like a family ^_^"

"The room, though compact, was spotlessly clean. There's a Donki store conveniently located nearby. The young, mixed-race gentleman at the front desk was incredibly friendly and polite, able to communicate fluently in English, and was very helpful in resolving my issue."

"The hotel is conveniently located very close to the West Exit of Higashi-Muroran Station. Rooms are quite spacious, and there's a public bath on the 12th floor. The hotel breakfast is good, and surprisingly, they even offer congee and *doufunao* (which they refer to as 'tofu' here)... There are bus route display screens at both the East and West exits of the station. Tourists planning to visit attractions like the Hakucho Bridge or Cape Chikyu should check the bus schedules in advance, as the buses run infrequently. Of course, this advice can be disregarded if you're taking a taxi."

"Driving. Parking is available at the entrance of the hotel. A well-regulated room. There is a convenience store nearby and not far from the station. Breakfast seems to be free, there is nothing wrong with eating."

"Only hotel in Muroran. It is an old hotel. I stay four night but they never came to clean my room or took out the garbage. It is about 5 minute walk from JR station. I stay in a big room with sofa and private bath room. There are two local supermarket near the JR station."
