"I had the worst experience at the Sonesta Hotel in Irvine. Upon check-in, they charged me $229 without any explanation, but the receipt I checked later showed only $179.85. The staff even denied having any record of the payment. Furthermore, even though I was clearly checking out tomorrow, they arbitrarily processed it as a same-day checkout, rendering my room key unusable, and the room I finally managed to enter hadn't even been cleaned. I cannot shake the feeling that I was subjected to blatant discrimination and disregard as an Asian traveler. Although I eventually received a refund after filing an official complaint, I absolutely do not recommend a hotel with such unreasonable service and an opaque payment system. I will never return here."

"This hotel is generally quite good, but there is a particularly bad problem. They installed the air conditioning compressor in the bedroom (the compressor is in the grille with the red circle in the picture), and it is very old equipment. The cooling effect is very general (it is not very cool even when it is turned to the lowest temperature, and the room temperature is still quite high). It makes a huge noise all the time~ It is really huge... It is like a large old machine constantly rumbling in my ears, and it made both of us collapse in the middle of the night (I don’t sleep very well, and my husband sleeps very well, and we can’t stand it...) We originally booked 17 nights, but after staying for a few days, we couldn’t stand the torture and changed to another hotel nearby. The hotel’s own engineers and front desk staff admitted that this design is really weird... We originally wanted to compromise and change rooms to see if it would be better, but they all had the same structural design, and the compressor was not that exaggeratedly noisy. The infrastructure of this hotel feels too old (it’s also amazing that it is a hotel that has been open for 4 years), including the water flow is often very small, and it’s not very good to take a shower during peak hours... So the old compressor is installed in the bedroom again, which is simply, I have never seen it before..."

"First room AC did not work, had to switch rooms on the second night. Hotel staff was unapologetic. This is why I don’t normally stay at Hilton property. I’m a member, but it’s never a good. Lastly, self parking for hotel guest is $42 a day. However, property was old and not well maintained."

"The hotel is very convenient and safe. Next to the JP Morgan building, it is very close to Irvine shopping and dining places including Irvine Airport (basically no more than 20 minutes by car). If you want to walk around, there is nothing to do nearby. The rooms are very clean. If you want to clean the room, you need to ask for it and you may have to tip (I stayed for 4 days without cleaning 😂) The attitude of the front desk and Valet is very good👍 Valet parking is $45 a day Overall, it is recommended! It would be perfect if the price could be lower!"

"The resort is a bit pricey during the summer holidays, but the air, sunshine, and environment are still great. The Wi-Fi signal is pretty good, which is a big plus. It's also not too far from the airport. Overall, it offers good value for money, and the food is decent, nothing spectacular but perfectly acceptable."

"Worst experience in nearly 10 years. The hotel was unhygienic, and for some reason, I was given a handicapped room. The shower head didn't even have a holder. Breakfast was just a simple biscuit, coffee, and tea. Thankfully, Mr. Shi, Ctrip's after-sales service manager, was incredibly helpful and was able to negotiate a solution for my early departure. A special thank you to the Ctrip service team!"
