"Very satisfied! If you like to experience the original ecology, I recommend staying here for one night. Because it is a camp, there are definitely no five-star facilities, but to experience the original ecology and Safari, this hotel is worth staying once. The service is very thoughtful and attentive. In addition to three meals, tea will be arranged before leaving for Safari in the morning, and juice will be arranged to welcome you when you return. If you plan to go on Safari, it is recommended to book this hotel directly. Their guides are very professional. This time I saw Ceylon leopards, elephants up close, and other gray leaf monkeys, deer, crocodiles, and various birds. I have been to Yala Safari many times before. In comparison, their guides are really professional, know how to find Ceylon leopards, and are very patient in finding them."

"The hotel is nice, not particularly clean, but by Sri Lankan standards, it's average. The pool is nice, but there are no loungers to relax in. The staff is very friendly and cheerful. The food is traditional, nothing international, and I'm sorry to say, it wasn't particularly good either. Unfortunately, everything was served cold, and as a result, everything was very dry."

"Our first room smelled of stale urine as soon as we entered. Also did not look clean. Immediately asked to move room. Reception said they would sort it. Next we knew 2 mangers and 2 cleaners came to try and clean the room. When we said no we wanted to move manager got a bit hostile. We insisted and moved room. Next room smelled better but on our first night was not clean. Food was poor and as hotel was empty only a very limited set menu was provided. Only positive was the pool man who was always friendly, efficient and kept the pool amazing. Also perhaps the owner/ manager should leave the restaurant, where staff are required to wait on him, and manage his hotel!"

"Our return to Leopard Safaris in Yala was nothing short of exceptional. Having loved it previously, this camp was the main reason we came back to Sri Lanka and it more than lived up to our expectations. This time, we were the only guests, giving us the entire camp and a truly personal experience. As on our previous visit 2 years ago, the service was impeccable - thoughtful, attentive, and heartfelt, but never intrusive. We enjoyed 4 private safaris, encountering a sloth bear, a leopard, a cobra, and so much more - exactly what we hoped for. The guided nature walk around camp, learning about the smaller creatures, was a delight, especially for the children. A lovely touch was planting a tree which was a meaningful nod to their environmental ethos. The guides also gave my children ranger certificates for completing a fun activity around camp - something they were both very pleased with! The food was outstanding - an array of traditional Sri Lankan dishes we all enjoyed, and our final night’s barbecue under the stars was truly magical. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and so passionate about the camp’s values and ecology. While the camp was quiet due to travel disruptions, we still received top-tier service. It was simply perfect, and we can’t wait to return again."

"Very good Safari and accommodation experience! You can contact the hotel directly through WhatsApp before check-in, and they will send the meeting point address in advance to pick you up. Although the reservation is a tent room, it is actually a wooden house. The air conditioning and hot water are sufficient. The food cooked by Promod Chef is considered to be very delicious in Sri Lanka👍👍 The Safari on the second day was booked directly with the hotel. The guide Achi was very helpful. He located the traces of the Ceylon leopard twice by listening to the sound. So lucky!"

"The Location was perfect, situated in the central area of Kataragama town. beautiful sunsets and sunrises are visible to the balcony. Large swimming pool, greens everywhere and well looked after garden. Peacocks freely move here and there. The general area feels peaceful, quiet and clam. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed and clean. The staff was super kind and helpful. The food was amazing too, both Sri Lankan as well as the international dishes. We felt very well-looked after and had a recharging stay."

"One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was very dirty, and the commode seat was not fixed properly or was broken. The bathroom also had a very bad smell, and when you opened the bathroom door, the smell spread into the room. The towels and pillowcases had many stain marks. We booked a family room with full board, but after lunch, they only offered dessert when we requested it. When I asked about it, they simply said they were very busy and forgot. Our room was for four people, but they had kept amenities only for two. After requesting four times, they finally arranged the items for the other two people. Dinner was good, but the breakfast was really not worth the money. Considering the price they charge, this hotel needs 100% improvement. Not recommended at all."

"This is a lovely lodge where you stay in tented accomodation. The camp has a real safari feel to it. The food was really good and all meals and drinks are included. Also included is an afternoon and morning drive for each night that you stay. The Yala National Park is split into two blocks as far as the safari from this camp is concerned. While the camp is close to the park one of the blocks is a bit of a drive from the camp, the other is much closer. The closer one is a nicer and quieter. You will probably get chance to do both blocks. This is not Africa but you will see lots of elephants, monkeys, mongoose, deer, birds and crocodiles. Sadly we did not see any leopards or sloth bears. All meals are taken outside (weather permitting) and it is very atmospheric at night. We had a really good BBQ one night. They set the tables up in different spots around the camp which is nice. The bar is open before dinner but closes early so it is off to bed once dinner is finished. Meals are at set times and everyone eats together so it is very sociable. The tented rooms are great and have everything you need. The bathroom has an outside shower. There is also a small pool to relax around. We stayed for 2 nights which I would recommend as if you only stay one night it can be a bit of a rush and you do not get much time in the camp. Some other guests who only stayed for one night commented on this. However 2 nights is probably just about the right of time. Would recommend."
