At 23:30 last night, people in other rooms in the corridor were still making loud noises, which was very speechless. A deposit of 100 is required for check-in, and it cannot be refunded upon check-out, only 100 in cash, but it must be paid after the cleaning staff has checked the room (I don't understand what the 100 deposit is for in such a shabby hotel with nothing in the room?). "A very nice hotel, large and with many amenities. However, no one speaks English, and the breakfast was very poor. It wasn't replenished. We had to ask for everything: refilling the coffee machine, refilling food, etc. The cottages are nicely furnished and were perfect for the five of us. Laundry service was quick and free. There's a beautiful hiking trail to a tower on the Great Wall of China (from the wooden lookout), but they didn't have a map. After a good hour of walking, we came to a crossroads and went straight ahead instead of turning left. Unfortunately, that part was a dead end. Due to the heat and no good map or GPX file, we unfortunately had to walk back. If they had had a hiking map, we might have managed. We estimate the 8 km walk to take about 6 hours."

"Best experience we’ve had in China. The owner picked us up from the station, upgraded our room free of charge which was such a treat after our hike to watch the sunset on the wall. We had delicious food at the restaurant downstairs that evening and felt very welcomed by the locals. I would highly recommend staying here if you’d like to go to The Great Wall and have a less touristy experience and actually get the wall to yourself."

"The environment is fantastic, the park and room design are excellent, and the views are superb, with a distant sight of the Great Wall. The service is also very good. As a newly opened hotel, it's very clean, though there's still a faint new smell. The hotel occupies an entire large park, themed around sports. It features standard basketball courts, football fields, and other sports facilities, as well as a chess and card room, and a **game room for guests. On the ground floor, there are bicycles available for use within the park, including Giant bikes, which are very user-friendly. This is a great touch, truly adapting to the local surroundings and suitable for the hotel. Some details and areas for improvement: - The central air conditioning operation isn't very smooth; instructions for use should be provided. - There's no shampoo, shower gel, or hand soap; these should be added. - The mouthwash cups are too small and not very practical; they should be adjusted. - There's no space for storing clothes; hangers are needed. The balcony is beautiful, so consider adding a drying rack. - The lighting control system is too simple; the desk area should have separate controls. - There's a lack of emergency lighting and fire escape items; a flashlight and gas mask should be provided."

The restaurant is quite nice too. Would definitely recommend!"

"The location of the guest house is just perfect,only 10 minutes walk from the mid entrance of the great wall. From there you can explore the Wall walking east and it’s the best,very few people. But the best thing about the accomodation is the sweet family managing it! The food is just delicious,with huge portions and big choice! The lady also gave me a big help to find a good taxi to go back to Gobeikou. Especially when you travel solo it’ is really nice to see such big smiles and help! I can only recommend it!"

I changed hands and found that this farmhouse had an empty room. The boss and the proprietress are sincere people, especially good to the guests, especially intimate, specially picked me up to the foot of the Great Wall to participate in the game. In the evening, I made dinner for me, full of two large bowls and my own farm dishes, and charged me ten yuan. The room was also very clean and I slept very comfortably. highly recommended! !"

Laoma Shaobing Restaurant opposite Shadian has a great breakfast of shaobing and tofu. This is the second time I have stayed at a luxury hotel. The health and facilities are not ideal and should be improved. However, there is no better hotel in the center of Luanping County."

"We booked two nights at this hotel. What we liked was that it was very spacious, and also really clean. Also the airconditioning was easy to setup and worked really well so we could sleep good! It was also very nice that the hotel has this free shuttle to the trainstation in Gubeikou: they didn’t tell us about it though, I had to find out myself when I asked them to call us a taxi. I do have to point out that this place was a little weird. We were here in off-season, so I understand that maybe some services/amneties are not in use, but at some moments we felt a bit unwelcome. They promote their café with specialty coffee in their photos, but this was closed most of the time. We managed to order coffee two times, but the staff acted as if this was really a hastle for them. Also, while the room was big and spacious, the water in the shower took a very very long time to get warm and even when it did it switched a lot between hot and cold. Locationwise, not the best: there’s no restaurants around. Only one other homestay (25-30 min walk) offered food - that was great. Also, there is no didi here, so you have to find your way around asking local people to take you somewhere and pay them. Maybe the hotel offers this as well? I don’t know, they didn’t tell us. The jinshanling Great Wall is beautiful, you can reach it by foot in about 1h. In short, it was okay. But really too expensive for what you get."

"Advantages: 1. There is a simple breakfast, although there are not many things, but there is no problem with eating, noodles, rolls, porridge, boiled eggs and a few small pickles, saving time than going out to find a restaurant to eat. 2, there are both slippers and traditional foam slippers, the latter bath is very convenient. 3. The front desk staff is warm and responsive. Problems found: 1, after the bath, the water can not be drained immediately, the next day there is still water on the bathroom floor. 2. The water heater is connected to the large shower head. This shower head has a large amount of water. The hot water of the water heater cannot be supplied in the later stage, and the water becomes cold. So it is recommended to replace it with a small nozzle. The room I live in is on the innermost side of the corridor. Under the window is Xingang East Street where the hotel gathers. It is equivalent to going to the room to go to most of the street. Haha, so the room price is cheap? The disposable toiletries provided by the hotel are useless except for small soaps (the last picture), and the dental appliances and shampoo that you bring with you. In order to protect the environment, it is recommended that you use as little as possible disposable items. This kind of items are discarded once they are used up, which is not friendly to the environment."

It's very close to the ticket office, making it convenient for catching the sunrise and sunset!
