"We had a calm and pleasant stay at Jetwing Kaduruketha. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Deshan, the butler assigned to us was very supportive and attentive to all our needs. We enjoyed the views of the paddy fields and the mountains. It was a great village experience to our 4yrs old son. He had the chance to experience some village toys/games, see a tree house, a river, paddy fields, a farm, scarecrows etc. Overall it was a very good stay for us."

Gernot was very helpful with everything we needed, organising our jeep to the safari the next morning, and our dinner for that night. The whole place was very clean, and everyone very friendly. We highly recommend a stay here to feel right in the jungle and immerse yourself!"

The hotel is ideally positioned for Jeep Safari in Udawalawe National Park and to visit the Elephant Transit home. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which offered lots of choices. The Service was excellent. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. A Special mention to our cheerful barman Lalitha who served our drinks and the hotel manager Damitha who sorted out a late checkout for us."

"Our first room smelled of stale urine as soon as we entered. Also did not look clean. Immediately asked to move room. Reception said they would sort it. Next we knew 2 mangers and 2 cleaners came to try and clean the room. When we said no we wanted to move manager got a bit hostile. We insisted and moved room. Next room smelled better but on our first night was not clean. Food was poor and as hotel was empty only a very limited set menu was provided. Only positive was the pool man who was always friendly, efficient and kept the pool amazing. Also perhaps the owner/ manager should leave the restaurant, where staff are required to wait on him, and manage his hotel!"

"Our return to Leopard Safaris in Yala was nothing short of exceptional. Having loved it previously, this camp was the main reason we came back to Sri Lanka and it more than lived up to our expectations. This time, we were the only guests, giving us the entire camp and a truly personal experience. As on our previous visit 2 years ago, the service was impeccable - thoughtful, attentive, and heartfelt, but never intrusive. We enjoyed 4 private safaris, encountering a sloth bear, a leopard, a cobra, and so much more - exactly what we hoped for. The guided nature walk around camp, learning about the smaller creatures, was a delight, especially for the children. A lovely touch was planting a tree which was a meaningful nod to their environmental ethos. The guides also gave my children ranger certificates for completing a fun activity around camp - something they were both very pleased with! The food was outstanding - an array of traditional Sri Lankan dishes we all enjoyed, and our final night’s barbecue under the stars was truly magical. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and so passionate about the camp’s values and ecology. While the camp was quiet due to travel disruptions, we still received top-tier service. It was simply perfect, and we can’t wait to return again."

The food was horrible, poorly prepared, and not even sufficient for the number of guests. It was an absolute embarrassment. If you value your time, money, and dignity, do not choose this place under any circumstances. Go here only if you have no other option—otherwise, you’ll deeply regret it."

"We chose the Mahoora tented camp because of its proximity to the park border and the guided walks that it offered. The layout of the deluxe tents in secluded spots scattered amongst the trees was private and restful, and the gentle illumination of the paths by paraffin lamp was very pretty. The communal tea tent and two 'chill' areas were also an asset to the camp. Solomon the chief naturalist is a great communicator with a wealth of life experience as well as knowledge of wildlife and history, and our two walks with him were the high points of our stay at the camp. The cooking lesson where he contributed as translator and provided background on the medicinal value of the ingredients was also entertaining and instructive. All the meals were good, and the first barbecue in particular was excellent. Dining by firelight under the stars was a special treat. Suggestions for improvement: recommend Google maps for locating the camp, and ditch the complicated and misleading instructions from head office, and use hurricane lamps rather than lamps with open wicks to get rid of the prevalent smell of burning paraffin."

Because it is a camp, there are definitely no five-star facilities, but to experience the original ecology and Safari, this hotel is worth staying once. The service is very thoughtful and attentive. In addition to three meals, tea will be arranged before leaving for Safari in the morning, and juice will be arranged to welcome you when you return. If you plan to go on Safari, it is recommended to book this hotel directly. Their guides are very professional. This time I saw Ceylon leopards, elephants up close, and other gray leaf monkeys, deer, crocodiles, and various birds. I have been to Yala Safari many times before. In comparison, their guides are really professional, know how to find Ceylon leopards, and are very patient in finding them."

"We stayed in the Villa as group of 4 friends and it was perfect. Great privacy and a lovely plunge pool to cool off during the heat of the day. Worth noting one room has a large double bed and the other two singles, but the staff (who were amazing btw) added an extra single bed for us. Unfortunately we only stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the villa so much we only did one main activity, the boat safari which was really unique. Loved “bird island”!! We also did an evening walk to the small lake close by for a sundowner which was a lot of fun too! The food was good and the main lodge in the evening was buzzing which made for a great atmosphere. There were a few families staying at the same time who also seemed to be having a great time so the place definitely has a mix of guests staying. Big thumbs up from us."

"It was a magical travel experience. It was nine o'clock in the evening when we arrived at the campsite. The jeep was bumpy for more than ten minutes and I almost felt sold. After arriving, I discovered a new world. In addition, we didn't eat. Although the taste of BBQ was average, When you are eating, you will be accompanied by many small animals when you lower your head. When you raise your head, you will see the starry sky, which is very atmospheric."
