So for those taking public transport, this is the bus stop where you can access the hotel nearest. - it is still a short 3min walk from the bus stop with a short slop and stairs to the hotel reception/room. So please take note if you need assistance. Service - check-in is at 3pm, I managed to catch the Lady Boss and she let me leave my luggage in the reception area. - check-in was very smooth and she gave me a free upgrade to a room on the second floor! Thank you :) - I did not manage to catch the breakfast the next day, and the boss noticed. She offered me cup noodles when I checked out, showing how attentive and considerate she is. Room - the room is clean, spacious and comes with a balcony and wonderful view. If you are on the first floor, you can still enjoy the view from the courtyard outside your room. - make use of this view as much as you can! From watching the sunset to looking at the stars, this hotel is perfect for it :)"

"This is a new, clean, and beautiful hotel. Having moved here from The Lalu, the room felt a bit smaller in comparison, but the view from the room was superb, and the hot spring view from the room was something The Lalu didn't offer. Most importantly, I found the breakfast excellent. I don't think many hotels in Taiwan serve such delicious bread, and the order-as-much-as-you-like buffet was fantastic; every dish was tasty. At the lounge's afternoon tea, the quality of the cakes was high, and being able to have coffee was a plus. However, I'd recommend avoiding the bite-sized ice cream from the freezer as it wasn't very good. The hot springs were pleasant, and it was nice to have ESPA amenities and a sauna. While The Lalu's pool wins in terms of size and ambiance, the view here is magnificent. For the return trip, a Mercedes shuttle bus can take you to Taichung Station for 500 TWD. This bus was also luxurious and more comfortable than the taxi we took on the way there."

Upon arrival, you can check in first, and then the hotel staff will guide you to one of their partner parking lots (either Moon Lake Hotel or Wyndham parking lot, as the Sun Moon Lake Hotel itself primarily functions as accommodation). The double rooms are a good size, but they mainly offer city views, while only quad rooms have lake views. The rooms are clean, and the soundproofing is decent. Breakfast is served at their affiliated hotel, Lih Pao Resort, on the 2nd floor (about a 1-minute walk away). The lobby of that hotel is on the 3rd floor, so you'll need to go down one level. The views from there are excellent."

It is worth mentioning that the side meals are really generous. The room comes with two bowls for each guest. In the morning, the breakfast for two people in the room (carrot cake + egg x2 / sandwich x4 / two cups of soy milk) is really filling. Afternoon 😂, I can only say that if the wooden house problem is solved, it will be a really good hotel! (By the way, this hotel does not accept accommodation visitors. If there is a temporary need for visitors, you need to pay attention to the hotel regulations to avoid being charged admission fees)"

Previously, many hotels started providing air purifiers, but it's completely unnecessary here. The breakfast was plentiful. I accidentally spilled some soy milk, and the handsome guy at the bar told me not to worry about it. I also met two elderly vacationers; the first time was on the street, and then again at the hotel. "I fully enjoyed my stay at Sun Moon Lake Hotel in terms of their hospitality and beautiful & peaceful location. They have supported me to get to one of the old tea farm which needs special transportation arrangement by arranging a very attentive and helpful driver. They are located at a peaceful quintet location which is about 15 min walk from Suishe visitor centre also nearby secret small water area where fireflies appears at night of spring season. They have a free bicycle service too so I could also fully enjoy both cycling and morning walk to see sunrise at a quiet wooden boardwalk. I would like to come back at the next firefly season. Thanks again for the wonderful stay."

"The hotel sells vegetarian cup noodles and vegetarian snacks, which is vegetarian-friendly. They also have a discount coupon for imported German skincare products, which is great! ❤️ I bought it because of the discount 😍 They offer luggage storage, and the front desk staff are friendly. The shampoo and body wash smell wonderful, and I felt so comfortable after showering. I loved it! The Sun Moon Lake tea cakes were also unique. They even have a smart toilet, which is nice! The hotel is great! The only downside is the terrible transportation. Buses in Taiwan, except in Taipei, are generally terrible, making it very inconvenient for independent travelers. Currently, the train to Shuili Station is a shuttle bus to Checheng Station. I had to take a train from Chiayi to Jiji Station and then transfer to a shuttle bus to Shuili Station, but I accidentally took the wrong bus... because the station is under renovation."
