"This was my first solo trip abroad, so I'm leaving a review of the accommodation for other travelers. The guesthouse environment is great, and as for our family room, it was very spacious with no obvious cleanliness issues that I could see. The front desk staff could communicate simply in Mandarin without any problems. Overall, their hospitality made us feel comfortable; it was that Southeast Asian friendliness. The location is excellent, within a 10-minute walk, there are several tea houses and Chinese restaurants to choose from. It's also just a 10-minute walk to Toh Soon Cafe, but unfortunately, I didn't get to try Teochew Chendul. The owner recommended the congee shop across the street, which was very authentic. The surrounding area allows you to explore various old town shops, including general stores, gold shops, and traditional medicine stores. It's not far from the Penang Street Art (Mural Street), and George Town is full of street art everywhere. If you're not in a hurry, you can easily walk to many of the famous spots."
