The front counter staff were able to communicate well in English, so the check‑in process felt smooth and pressure‑free. Their explanations were clear and helpful. The buffet dinner was delicious with a good variety of seafood and grilled items. Our room faced Lake Akan, giving us a beautiful lakeside view throughout the stay. The cruise terminal was right in front of the hotel — just a short walk to board the boat to the Marimo exhibition. At night, the Akan Garden walk was a meaningful experience, letting us learn more about the local Akan culture in a calm, nature-filled setting. ✨ Overall: A comfortable stay with great service, good food, and perfect access to Lake Akan activities.

The hotel's location is excellent; it's a two-minute walk straight ahead after turning left from the JR station. There's a bus stop and a sightseeing bus pick-up point right outside the entrance. It's also just over a ten-minute walk to Nusamai Bridge. The hotel breakfast is delicious, and there are complimentary alcoholic beverages and soft drinks on the first floor in the evenings. They also offer free hot springs. The only downside is the questionable cleanliness, which needs improvement.

February 2026, Hokkaido – The Life I've Always Dreamed Of in Eastern Hokkaido! It's been six years since my last visit to Hokkaido, and I'm finally back in my favorite place, embarking on a long-awaited journey to Eastern Hokkaido! On the first day, we decided to head straight to Kushiro and check into the Kushiro Prince Hotel for convenience with our后续 itinerary. It was about a 10-minute walk from JR Kushiro Station to the hotel with our luggage. The main issue was the heavy snow and ice on the roads. We weren't wearing ice cleats, so we had to walk very carefully. The Kushiro Prince Hotel clearly has an older, traditional style, and the facilities are quite dated. Check-in was quick, and there wasn't much interaction with the front desk, perhaps due to a language barrier? However, they did try their best to answer any questions we had. We had a standard twin room; it wasn't large, but big enough for two large suitcases. There was no separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, likely due to space constraints. I'm not sure why there was no complimentary bottled water. The hotel's main advantage is its convenient location. The Akan Bus stop is right outside the hotel to the right. Everyone was lining up early. We checked out about 10 minutes beforehand, and since we didn't want to wait outside in the cold, we ended up at the back of the line. Kushiro is the starting point of this Eastern Hokkaido trip. Our packed itinerary is about to begin, and I'm a little excited and a little nervous!

Location is great as you get to wake up to a beautiful lakeside view of Lake Akan, close to Ainu craft plaza, and walkable to everything else. Like other posts mentioned, the facilities of this hotel, especially the rooms, felt a bit dated (I don’t remember seeing a rotary phone anymore). However, the room is big and comfortable, so I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel's location is very near to Kushiro station, easy to travel by trains or buses. 650 m walking distance from a big supermarket (Big House Asahimachi). Offers free washing machine service although the dryer is coin operated but normal rate at 100 yen per 30 minutes. Breakfast buffet is delicious. Free ochazuke from 22:00-24:00.

The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options—it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! The accommodation was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The hotel is conveniently located near a shopping mall and plenty of eateries, making it easy to find food and do some shopping. Although parking is available for a fee, it was convenient and easy to access. Overall, I absolutely loved this hotel and would happily stay here again on my next visit!

It was not entirely clear at time of booking whether I would be assigned a dorm bed and arrived prepared to be so assigned. I believe the situation is the dorm is reserved for group reservations so you normally be assigned a private room with shared bathroom. This made the room a great value and a memorable stay.

I stayed here for the first time in May. The parking lot was spacious and the large public bath was nice, so I made a reservation without hesitation this time. It's just a short walk from the station, so I was able to see the marsh bell on the platform and the beautiful sunset. The breakfast area was spacious and the morning sun streamed in through the glass windows, making it a great way to start the day. The staff were all very friendly, so I'd definitely like to return. The view from my room was also great.

The hotel side is adequate but simple. The restaurant part should be avoided, food basic cheap and the worse of our two weeks in Hokkaido. Staff was unfriendly to say the least. There is a beer box at the entrance of the restaurant, but that is ”outside” . We thought we should take the beer before entering the restaurant, and that got the staff just about scream at us, because beer is sold inside! Breakfast is from 7 to 9 and while we were finishing our breakfast started at 8.30 waitress showed up saying we should be out by 9 as they closed! Very close to Akan crane center but the worse accomodation of hokkaido, to be avoided if you can. All other places we stayed people were most friendly!
