"Excellent hotel! Friendly and polite staff, magnificent hotel grounds, and very decent cuisine. We spent 11 nights here and had a wonderful rest for both body and soul. You can lounge by the pool and walk from there to the ocean, it only takes a minute. The beach is good, but the waves are strong and dangerous, not entirely suitable for children. Adults should also be careful and not go deeper than waist-high; during our stay, 7 people were being swept away and had to be rescued by lifeguards. However, it's always fun to jump on the waves if you're careful. For a change of pace, we took a surfing lesson on the beach. We managed to catch a wave on our very first lesson, so we recommend trying it. The instructors are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel, as the beach is public. When booking, we were concerned about mentions of a nearby railway and feared it would be noisy. We ended up staying in room 227, which was mentioned in reviews as being noisy. Honestly, we had no problems with it. Sometimes you could hear it, but we never woke up because of it at night. It was more like background noise that you get used to and don't notice. And this is coming from someone who is sensitive to noise. There's definitely no need to worry about it. Overall, the hotel and grounds even exceeded our expectations; everything looks somewhat more modest in the photos. There's absolutely nothing to do around the hotel, and not many places to walk. The town across the bridge is full of touts, and the atmosphere isn't great. In short, we highly recommend it for a quiet family vacation, focusing on the ocean and relaxing by the pool, without active city walks or parties."

"We loved the proximity to such a wonderful beach, which was beautiful clean and undisturbed. The service at the resort was top notch, ranging the poolside personnel who took care of all over needs to housekeeping who were attentive and proactive in their cleaning and tidying. We were also impressed by the facilities - the pools were fantastic as was the buffet meals. Special shout out to yoga master Roland, who conducted a bespoke class for us and was able to cater to our different levels of flexibility and technique.  His manner also made us feel extremely at home - thank you Roland!"

"Couldn't fault this hotel. My room was upgraded to a sea view de luxe room and it was fantastic. It was well cleaned every day by Jinendra who also left an amusing 'towel animal' for me daily! Breakfast in the Palms Restaurant was superb, plenty of choice and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Sam was exceptional and went out of his way to get everything I asked for. Madhuka and Dimli also deserve a special mention. The SHACK seafood restaurant was excellent and good value. We also had some evening meals in the Palms Restaurant. They offer a magnificent buffet but we ordered a la carte and were not disappointed. We ventured outside the hotel for an evening meal on a few occasions (across the railway line) but found the standard to be mediocre and not that cheap compared with what was available at the hotel. The swimming pool was easily accessible (graduated steps) and the water wonderfully warm. We never had a problem getting a sun lounger after breakfast although many are obviously reserved early. The extensive beach is lovely for walks. There are sun loungers in the shaded area in the trees but these have to be paid for. The hotel offers a number of daytime activities and there is evening entertainment. A wonderful stay and I would highly recomment this hotel."

"This is definitely one of the worst managed four star resort. The facilities are nice even though we did not use them. The rooms are ok, but not up to a four star standard. The resort is not well managed. We had the buffet breakfast in the resort- when we walked in , there used to be almost no clean tables available. After I got the table, I paid attention to the amount of the time that is needed for the staff to clean and set up the dirty table ready to use for other guests. It was never ready even after I finished my breakfast. There are many other issues in the buffet breakfast. Long queue for omelet, coffee, and the plates for fresh fruits are always empty. The poor guy who is cutting the fruits is too busy to fill in the fruit plates. I thought the fruit should be prepared and cut for the breakfast rather than prepare on the spot. There is also some billing mistake (not surprised), although it was settled later on, but I waited for at least 20 min to get the bill to be adjusted etc. overall, the price is not value for your money."

There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.
"A beautiful place! Quiet, quiet rest with first-class service. When settled, we improved the room - just a cafe. Personnel wonderful - all in their place. All wishes are executed instantly, but at the same time uninterrupted. Classic pool and garden. Very beautiful beach 2 minutes walk. A delicious breakfast. Also we had 2 times lunch at the restaurant - delicious! This was our best accommodation in Sri Lanka in 28 days! Thank you! The train is going through the hotel area, but it looks very cool and unusual! Lyfhak: Railways reach the city 15 minutes. The main part of the road can be passed by side of the rails)"

"I stayed at Nyne Hotel recently and it truly felt like a five-star experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff impressed me with their professionalism and warmth. They were attentive, punctual and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful greenery, set in a peaceful garden close to the sea. It's very calm and relaxing, the perfect place to switch off and enjoy nature. The food was exceptional. Each dish was carefully prepared and presented, more like something you would expect from a Michelin-star restaurant than a typical hotel. It was both delicious and beautifully done. l've stayed in many places around the world, but Nyne Hotel really stands out. The combination of the setting, the food and the genuinely professional staff makes it a special place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Bentota."
