"I booked a standard room at the Sheraton Rizhao. Upon arrival, I was told the room wasn't ready yet. I checked in first and was told they would call me when it was cleaned. So I went to eat. After more than two hours, I hadn't received a call, so I went back to inquire and was told the room was ready. Unbelievable. When I entered the room, I found the floor was dirty with hair, and there were stains on the sink, clearly showing signs of a rushed cleaning. At night, I noticed stains on the duvet, so I called housekeeping to change it. The balcony door also wouldn't open. The facilities are outdated. Then there's the Korean restaurant on the basement level. Walking in, some tables hadn't been cleared, with leftover food piled up, which was unappetizing. The BBQ prices were high, and you couldn't even grill your own meat. By the time our main courses were finished, the meat still hadn't arrived. After much waiting, it finally came – the pork belly was soggy, and the 188 RMB beef short ribs were barely ten pieces and impossible to chew. Speechless. As for the Sheraton's breakfast, it's the only restaurant I've ever seen where you have to queue. After waiting for a long time to get in, the tables and chairs were far from clean, and the food was mediocre. The quality doesn't even come close to a five-star hotel. They didn't even provide disposable chopsticks. Disappointed, I will not rebook this hotel. After checking out, the hotel actually called to ask for a good review. Don't you have any self-awareness? Is this how you get all your good reviews?!"

The service was incredibly attentive, especially Manager Xiao Han at the front desk. They upgraded our room for free to an unbeatable, super sea-view room and extended our check-out time. The service was excellent, and I'm truly grateful. We'll definitely be back!"

"The hotel's hygiene is poor, the curtains don't block out the light, and there's an extra small pane of glass in the wall that's not covered, making it as bright as day in the morning. The door has large gaps at the bottom, so you can see feet outside from inside the room, and you can imagine the clanging and banging noises from upstairs – you can hear everything the neighbors are doing. This hotel, which opened in 2024, doesn't have a screen mirroring function, suggesting the building was built a long time ago; they call it a "24-year-old new hotel" because it's been operating for 24 years. The facilities are extremely poor. The front desk staff are incredibly arrogant; if you want to experience the life of a stray dog, you can stay here. The hotel doesn't treat you like a human being. This is an honest review, not an exaggeration."

"Traveling with kids is super convenient here. You just walk downstairs and you're right on the beach, perfect for some tide-pooling. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning crew and the breakfast service area, are all incredibly busy, but their service attitude is truly top-notch (though the breakfast itself leaves a lot to be desired, not much to choose from). Parking is also really easy. I'd definitely recommend it for families with children."
Rizhao Yanda Resort Hotel
"One-star warning! Avoid this place! My overall experience at Rizhao Yanda Resort Hotel was terrible, and I absolutely do not recommend it for families with children. The service was completely inadequate; staff were constantly unresponsive and dismissive when asked questions, showing almost zero professionalism. The hotel's internal management was chaotic, and public areas were disorganized. Housekeeping was perfunctory, with dust and stains visible everywhere in the rooms and play areas. This is the first hotel I've stayed in where they use pull-out toilet paper – how much money could that possibly save? Despite being advertised as a family-friendly resort, the entertainment areas were tiny, and there were very few activities for children. There was basically nowhere for kids to have fun, making it extremely poor value for money. I will not be returning and advise everyone else to avoid this pitfall."

The receptionist, Ms. Qizhen, was quick to process my check-in. The hotel also provides free laundry facilities and luggage storage. The staff were very helpful when they saw me carrying luggage. They even gave me a small gift when I checked out – so thoughtful!"

"I went to Arashiyama beach with friends and found a newly opened hotel. It's considered pretty good accommodation in Arashiyama; it's only about a 10-minute taxi ride from the beach. It's quite large, located near a tea plantation, and has its own coffee shop and book bar, which I liked. There's also a pool table, karaoke, and a gym – very well-equipped, perfect for groups. The only downside is that getting to the rooms is uphill, which was a bit of a leg workout, haha. The staff were very helpful. I recommend it in Arashiyama!"

"It was incredibly noisy, and especially expensive during the May Day holiday. We booked two rooms, but we would have been better off going to a normal double room on the fourth floor. People were walking around, the child kept crying, the room felt very oppressive, and there was a constant, noisy ventilation system. It was utterly maddening. It was like a refugee camp, and yet it was so expensive."

Cons: The elevators are incredibly slow, and since the building is full of hotels, it takes a very, very, very long time to get from B1 to the 33rd floor…"
