"Our first stop on this Chaoshan trip was Shanwei. When I booked the hotel, I was swayed by the 4.8 rating online and the panoramic video, so I reserved two panoramic twin rooms and one king room. Upon arrival that evening, the front desk immediately informed us that because we arrived late, the rooms were on separate floors – one per floor – and two of them were corner rooms. Since my 80-year-old family member was staying alone in the king room and it wasn't on the same floor, we were worried we wouldn't be able to look after them. We hoped the hotel could coordinate, but our requests were repeatedly denied. Considering how late it was, we just decided to check in and sort it out among ourselves. To our surprise, the stay was extremely disappointing. First, the room was old, with peeling paint and cracks on the walls. The shower water was okay, but the worst part was the aging mattress; it was visibly sunken to the touch, and completely caved in when you lay on it, making it impossible to sleep all night. At 4 AM, I called Ctrip to explain the situation. Ctrip's communication with the hotel remained unsuccessful. Finally, a 10% discount on all rooms was offered as the solution. As a consumer with a normal weight who takes at least two in-depth trips a year, this is the first time I've encountered a hotel like this. At 495 yuan per night, I don't consider it low-end, yet not only were basic facilities not guaranteed, but the hotel, as a service provider, consistently refused to acknowledge the issues. The bed by the wall in my room, 1201, had the most severe mattress collapse. I hope my review helps future guests. Furthermore, the hotel's breakfast was incredibly perfunctory. Everything pointed to the hotel's lack of care and professionalism. The next day, before checking out, a front desk lady offered us three gifts, which I firmly declined ❌. I believe that ensuring basic infrastructure is the greatest respect a hotel can show its guests (I also hope Ctrip can supervise hotels with ratings that don't match reality, to prevent harm to consumers). My sincere thanks again to Ctrip's complaint supervisor and related staff."

"Location close to high rail station. Close to many good restaurants recommend by the staff in hotel. All staffs are warm and helpful. Reception has big seating area serving warm drinks. Rooms are clean. Pillows and bed are comfortable. Tv has many channels to watch. Tasty breakfast with great selection. I will certainly recommend friends to come to stay. When I come visit again to Shenwei,I will definitely come back"

"This is really no good. The smell is overwhelming. My throat started feeling uncomfortable as soon as I entered the room. The formaldehyde concentration is probably way too high. The room in the corner was okay because the window was open, but the window in the middle room was small and the smell was so strong it gave me a headache. I arrived very late, so I had no choice but to stay there for the night."

"We stayed in Shanwei for a couple of nights and picked this hotel. The rooms were spacious, and the hotel also offered self serve laundry, buffet breakfast (for purchase), and a small gym. Two complaints - we did see a cockroach (which was promptly dealt with), and the smoke smell in rooms. It would be very good if they could designate smoke free rooms. Overall i would recommend"

"My stay at the Ausland Hotel, specifically in the Platinum King Room, was an absolute delight! The room was incredibly spacious and bright, featuring a smart assistant for controlling everything. The zero-pressure mattress was super soft and comfortable, and the mini-fridge came in handy. The room type even included a voice-activated smart assistant. Breakfast was a refined à la carte Chinese style, and the adjoining tea room provided a peaceful spot for relaxation. The facilities were new and spotlessly clean. Overall, it was a truly satisfying and comfortable stay!"

"Great free parking! You can just park in the underground lot next to the plaza. The hotel is also super close to Er Ma Lu, a great spot for food, just a short walk away. The facilities are very new and much cleaner than other hotels, and the shower pressure is excellent. The front desk service was lovely; all the ladies there were very polite and patient."

"I stayed at the hotel for five days during this business trip, so here are my impressions. The service was excellent. I arrived at the hotel at 10 am on the first day, and they immediately arranged early check-in the day before yesterday, even thoughtfully providing a breakfast voucher – great service! The surrounding environment was nice; the beach was just a few dozen meters away, perfect for an evening stroll! I booked a business twin room, which was very spacious, located on the tenth floor, quiet, and comfortable! The hotel has a laundry room and gym, very convenient! Having mentioned so many advantages, I'll also offer some suggestions, otherwise everyone might think I'm a shill. One thing I wasn't satisfied with was the buffet breakfast. While it was enough to fill me up, for a hotel of this size, the food was just average. Maybe everyone's taste is different."

The hotel's location is perfect for travelers catching the high-speed train. It's only a five-minute walk from Shanwei Station, making it easy to carry luggage. There's an electric scooter rental point right outside, super convenient for exploring the city and enjoying seafood. The receptionist was incredibly welcoming and efficient, checking me in within two minutes. She was always smiling and patiently answered any questions. The first impression of the room was its cleanliness. The entire room was impeccably clean; there wasn't a speck of dust or dirt on the table, floor, or even the corners of the bathroom. The subtle, refreshing scent of oranges was so soothing. The bedding was soft and comfortable against the skin, the mattress provided just the right amount of support, and the room was exceptionally soundproof—completely quiet at night, allowing me to sleep soundly until morning. The hot water in the bathroom came quickly and the water pressure was consistent, and the toiletries smelled wonderfully fresh. The price-performance ratio is far superior to other hotels in the same price range. It's perfect for tourists or business travelers visiting Shanwei. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanwei!"
