The hotel is well located in the heart of Gusu district. There are many busy streets around with clothing stores and restaurants. The hotel itself is large. The check in was pleasant, as was checking out. There are some English speaking staff if speaking Chinese is not possible. We stayed in the Premier Queen room, which was completely fine. Comfy bed, working appliances. The only issue was that the tap in the sink was leaking for our whole stay. We probably should have brought it up. The pool is nice, a 5th floor open deck area. Unfortunately, it is only open after 4:30pm. They have a pretty decent gym, as far as wanting to exercise while staying in a hotel goes anyway. Fair to say we would gladly stay again if we chose to go back to Suzhou.

The hotel has a “theme”, not sure which theme it is (😂), but at least is not a copy-paste business hotel. Latin music was playing in the lobby. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Lots and lots of options. From rabbit candy to pork buns. The best thing is that it is included for free. The not so good part: room shows the age of the hotel. A bit dusty in some areas, bathroom door didn’t fully close. Leaving a considerable gap. My girlfriend and I had to take turns to use the toilet comfortably, but we were there only one night so it wasn’t a deal breaker. We got a really really good deal for the one night + breakfast, so I feel that its short comings can be excused.

However it is not possible to drop off right in front of the hotel so travellers should call the hotel beforehand to confirm the nearest drop off point. Otherwise the hotel could inform through its website of the nearest drop off point. The cleanliness couldn’t revive a 5 star rating as my wife got some rashes from the cushions on the hardwood sofa. Strongly advise the hotel staff to clean the cushion covers regularly. Rest of the amenities and cleanliness are top notch. Definitely coming back here again if I’m back to Suzhou, a picturesque cultural rich city of its own.
