Lovely property, well presented, clean and tidy. Great location with easy access to some key Lake District places to visit. We enjoyed our stay!

My booking ended 18th May 2026. Renovations next door with drilling/hammering starting at 8am daily on walls adjacent to bedroom, living room and kitchen – very intrusive. I contacted Sykes Cottages who manage this property, providing contact details for the contractors and video evidence only to be dismissed and told it is not the owners responsibility to make guests aware of this. No interest in customer care or comfort. Please check for confirmation work is complete as they are refusing to tell upcoming bookings. Personally, I won’t book with this company again. The cottage itself is cosy and would otherwise be quiet. Small living area, kitchen has all the essentials – a bit tight for space around the cooker but manageable unless planning to cook a huge meal. Bedrooms well set out, comfortable beds and storage space. Hot shower & central heating. Small garden. Can park in lane to unload/load car and plenty of free parking a few minutes away. 5 min drive/20 mins walk to Windemere for shops/restaurants/train station. Good location for exploring the lakes by car or bus and some lovely walks from the cottage. Photos of pool/sauna but no info on how to access these on listing, booking confirmation or in the cottage which would have been useful. Would be a lovely stay if not for the work going on next door.
