Lynwood Guest House
"A Londoner married a Malaysian Chinese businesswoman and bought this property to run a guesthouse. The host is very welcoming; the brother-in-law speaks Cantonese and Mandarin, and is very friendly and helpful, proactively introducing nearby attractions and routes. Highly recommended!"
YHA Windermere
"Came here midweek and stayed in a landpod which was nice. I actually hesitated to write this positive review as it just means less availability in future but I'll be a team player and share the love. Arrived late due to a delayed train and the staff helpfully stayed open later to accommodate my check-in which was very much appreciated - also a very cheerful welcome on arrival which made me feel better - thank you. Less helpful was the local taxi firm refusing to take the job when id tried to book earlier in the day (i assume because it was later at night and the journey is short by car and a small fare - but sadly a much longer walk from the station - 20 minute cycle ride or 50 min walk). The facilities were spotless and I opted for the cooked breakfast which says its a buffet on the website but was actually something you had to order from a selection of available items on the menu. Maybe i misread the brief (and wasnt directed otherwise) but i got one item of each which looked a little pitiful (particularly as I held the beans) in the end was not really worth the extra money to be honest. I'd just go for the continental in future. Kitchen, living room and dining areas all spot on. As ever, the hostel stay will be influenced heavily by the interaction and behaviour of fellow guests so thankfully all was good. Fully recommend this as a place to stay in the lakes but beware it is on a hill so if youve not got a car just factor that in."
Beech Hill Hotel & Spa
"Hotel was clean, plenty of parking, good breakfast No information in rooms, was advised that they didn’t like clutter, so any questions we had we had to go to reception to ask. No wifi, channels on tv not tuned in, had to pay to use the spa facilities."
The Belsfield Hotel
"Stunning hotel, afternoon tea was fab as was the breakfast. Room was also really nice, and staff couldn’t do enough for you. Amazing stay in a beautiful location, will most definitely be back!"
Lakes Hotel & Spa
"Amazing place, perfect location. Staff were very nice. Room was very clean and the view is absolutely stunning. Not my first time and definitely not my last, can’t wait to book again Would recommend!"
Low Wood Bay
"I’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break."
The Watermill Inn & Brewery
"Hotel quite far from lake ,need 10 mins drive there."
Station Lodge - Free Off-Site Health Club Access with Pool, Sauna, Steam Room & Gym
"I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but everything was fine after checking in. The room was large, the hot water was good, and the location was very convenient. The only shortcoming was that there was no information from the hotel before arriving, which was puzzling. I had to actively find a way to contact the store to inform me. It would be perfect if this could be improved. However, this price is considered cheap here, so there is no need to worry about no one booking. Hi!"
The Westmorland Inn
"Just fine for the price"

Linthwaite House Hotel
"Just a heads-up: no smoking, or your deposit will be withheld if there's a smoke smell. I recommend paying the deposit in cash, as you'll get it back in cash, which is much quicker. Overall, it was a good experience."
Hawksmoor Guest House
"Although the location of the hotel is not close to the lake, it is between the town of Windermere and Bowness. It is basically a 10-15 minute walk to the lake to take a boat. The World of Peter Rabbit is the closest. The room is large and clean, and the bathroom is the largest among the hotels booked in the seven cities on this trip to the UK. The room is very warmly decorated, the cabinets are very large, and there are many hangers suitable for storing a lot of clothes. The boss's father is from Hong Kong. He chats with us every morning and recommends our travel routes. He is very enthusiastic. The breakfast is also very rich, and the price is very reasonable during the peak summer season."
Langdale Chase Hotel
"We called in as non residents for lunch on the terrace. We ended up going again twice more during our time in the lakes as we were so impressed. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and the staff on the terrace were exceptional. The food and drink were to a lovely standard. We booked on a lake cruise on the Albatross and it was wonderful. Definitely a must do if you are there. Rob and Pete on the boat were the most fantastic hosts. Unfortunately a lady had an injury just as we set off and they were so attentive and looked after her wonderfully. I would recommend to anyone looking for that touch of luxury to stay there. We will definitely be back!"
Lindeth Fell Country House
"The hotel is located halfway up the mountain beside Lake Windermere, with a view of the lake. The whole villa is very beautiful and the service is very good. The room was heated and not very cold. It is worth staying a few more days next time."
Hapimag Burnside Park Apartments
"The apartment was very spacious and comfortable... it feels like a home away from home... kitchen was fully equipped.. location is very near the pier and also bus stations... love it... will definitely stay here again."
Windermere Hillthwaite Hotel
"Excellent experience, highly recommended for a stay."
Windermere Manor Hotel
"Lovely traditional hotel in extensive grounds. Very dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent."
Beaumont Windermere - Adults-Only Boutique Guest House- Free Parking & Wellness Access
"Just had a lovely 3 night stay at Beaumont Guest House, arrived early but met by Simona who directed us to carpark. Position of hotel is ideal, short walk to bus stop and shops. Taxi,s very hit and miss (some very unfriendly drivers) taxi cost less than bus fare. We stayed in a beautiful Superior room with lovely mountain view. Everything you needed was provided in room. Beautiful bed linen and big fluffy towels, super comfy bed. Simona, owner very attentive, approachable and eager to help. Both her and her husband run a beautiful Guest house. Would like to thank Simona for making our stay so enjoyable and will recommend to friends and we will return. Can't understand negative reviews as we found hotel spotless and extremely accomodating. 5 * plus ."
St John's Lodge Incl Off-Site Leisure Club
"The hosts were lovely, so helpful and informative about the area and walks. There was an information book in the room covering all matter of things including useful numbers. The lodge was decorated beautifully for the Christmas season and the room was very comfortable with a fridge and kettle, tea, coffee, hit chocolate and water. Breakfast was amazing with a great range of fresh fruits, cereal and hot breakfast choices."
Holly Lodge Guest House with Free Off Site Health Club
"Location: About 10 minutes walk from Windermere Railway Station. It's downhill on the way there and uphill on the way back. It's quite close. The accommodation is self-service, with access control, no elevator, you need to carry your own luggage, up to the third floor The room is quite big, the hygiene is OK, the hot water is a little slow, and the room has heating The hotel breakfast (8:30-9:30) is pretty good, with a variety of choices. You can fill it out one day in advance and put it on the table at the entrance. On our last day, we needed to catch the bus early, so we asked the hotel staff to prepare breakfast for us on the way. The service attitude was very good."
The Ro Hotel Windermere
"Nice hotel, abit tired in places, brilliant location and seating outside, the guy on reception wasnt very helpful, the girl with red hair on reception in afternoon very helpful."
The Swan Hotel and Spa
The Lamplighter Dining Rooms
"Amazing service and super friendly staff. Would highly recommend to all."
Rum Doodle, Windermere B&B
"Excellent stay – highly recommended! We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with the bus stop just a short walk away, making it very convenient for exploring the Lake District. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. We accidentally left my friend’s phone at the hotel after checking out. When we realized it, we were already on our way to the train station. To our surprise, a member of the staff personally brought the phone to the station, and we received it just before our train departed. We were absolutely amazed by their kindness and dedication. We are so grateful for their help—it truly made our day and is something we will never forget. The breakfast was also excellent. Everything was fresh and delicious, and it was one of the best breakfasts we had during our trip. The scenery around the hotel is beautiful, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Lake District. Thank you to the wonderful team for making our stay so memorable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!"
