This hotel far exceeded my expectations, and my husband absolutely loved it. I spent a long time choosing this hotel, and it certainly didn't disappoint me. First, let's talk about the positives: the hotel is located right next to Liyuan Garden. My husband and I booked a superior twin room, which was later upgraded to a twin room with a balcony. The room was incredibly spacious, very airy, and had excellent views. We could see a corner of Liyuan Garden and Lihu Lake in the distance. After dinner, we could take a leisurely stroll through Liyuan Garden, and Lihu Lake is also very close. After breakfast, we enjoyed a walk along the Lihu Lake trail, sitting on a bench and relaxing, and in the afternoon, we could watch the sunset. The hotel's breakfast offered a rich variety, and the dishes at Pearl Restaurant and Jin Xuan Hall were also fantastic. It's not far from Huishan Ancient Town and Yuantouzhu scenic area; you can even walk to the subway after dinner to get there. In short, if you're looking for a relaxing vacation and want to unwind, this is the perfect choice. I plan to bring my child here next time and will definitely stay again. The room facilities were also a great experience. Upon check-in, we received two complimentary tickets to Liyuan Garden and a travel photography session.

The service was great, and the environment was fantastic, right by Lihu Lake. They even gave me a free upgrade to a lake view room! The only minor issue was that the mini-bar price list was a bit hidden. I'd suggest putting it inside the mini-bar itself so it's immediately visible. We didn't see it and thought everything was complimentary. However, the front desk was very kind and waived the charge for us as a goodwill gesture.

The hotel's greenery coverage is reportedly 70%, and we even took a 10-minute sightseeing tour around the property. Along the way, lush trees, lakes, and buildings were intertwined. The wind gently brushed through the car window, creating a picturesque 'courtyard within courtyards' ambiance. Some reviews say Taihu Hotel is like a maze, but I found it to be a rather interesting experience. From the moment we stepped out of the car, a bellhop proactively helped us with our luggage and warmly guided us to the lobby. The entire process was natural and thoughtful. A good hotel, perhaps, isn't just about staying in a beautiful building, but about having someone take care of the trivialities of your journey from the moment you step through the door. There's one more thing I must praise separately – the Taihu Hotel's xiaolongbao (soup dumplings). These were the best xiaolongbao I've ever had in Wuxi. The skin was so thin it felt like it would break, each one as delicate as a work of art. When gently picked up, it felt as if one wrong move would disturb the abundant soup inside. The taste was fresh, fragrant, and tender, unfolding in layers – truly a delightful surprise. Breakfast was also delicious, especially the douhua (tofu pudding), so silken smooth with not a hint of roughness. Sitting there in the morning, slowly savoring a warm bowl of douhua, gazing at the tree shadows outside, felt incredibly pleasant. As the saying goes, 'The shimmering light on the water is beautiful on a clear day, and the misty mountain view is extraordinary in the rain.' The morning light by Taihu Lake must be just as gentle. Another point: if you're coming specifically for the fireworks show, staying at Taihu Hotel is really perfect. There's no need to rush for transportation after the show, nor to quickly leave amidst the crowds. The fireworks, the lake, the night, and this historic hotel intertwine, becoming an integral part of the journey. My only regret is that we booked too late. We originally wanted to stay at Taihu Hotel for the entire three-day Mid-Autumn Festival, but the rooms were already fully booked, so we could only stay for one night, which left us wanting more. I've stayed in many five-star hotels. Some make you feel luxurious, some convenient, some offer excellent service, but Taihu Hotel gave me a different feeling – it has its own character. It has the lake, the trees, the history, the vibrant life, and an unhurried tranquility. As I left, I was already thinking about when I could return next. Perhaps truly unforgettable hotels are like this: you arrive as a guest, but leave with a landscape etched in your heart. Highly recommended.

They upgraded us to a room with a courtyard. The staff were all very helpful and tried their best to assist with any questions we had. Since we were traveling with a child, they provided extra blankets and disposable bathtub liners. The breakfast on the second day was also very good – the cherry blossom xiaolongbao were delicious, and the Suzhou noodles were great too. We could enjoy views of Cherry Blossom Valley while dining, and the 'King Cherry Tree' was right in our courtyard. The hotel lobby had complimentary tea and a coffee machine, which was a huge plus for coffee lovers. They even gave us some creative cultural ice cream, which made my child super happy!
