ใThank you Haiting for a wonderful Chinese New Year in Sanyaใ
March's spring breeze warms the shore,
As the new year arrives, good fortune pours.
Past joys blend with the warm sun's rays,
Years of splendor reflect in the bright waves.
Filled with gratitude, my heart expands,
Thanks flow freely, like tides across the sands.
The vast sea and sky we share with glee,
Laughter in the courtyard, peaceful and free.
Special thanks to Xiao Wei from the restaurant (100 likes!), KK at the front desk, and Zhi who was at the front desk on New Year's Eve and the first day of the New Year. The service was thoughtful, and there were so many Russian guests! ๐๐
Service: Enthusiastic and considerate of guests.

Atlantis Sanya was absolutely fantastic! I honestly didn't have high expectations for the service, given how many people would be there. Even the taxi driver warned me about the crowds and potential service delays, which made me regret booking such a popular hotel. But as soon as we pulled up, a young man immediately came to open our car door and help with our luggage from the trunk. I was so grateful! I thought, 'Okay, service isn't bad after all.' He didn't even let us lift a finger, pulling our two large suitcases all the way to the luggage drop-off. He thoughtfully told us to keep our luggage tag safe before heading to check-in. After check-in, the staff kindly suggested we could go explore, and they'd clean our room as quickly as possible for us to settle in. Since hotels usually have a 3 PM check-in time and we arrived at 11:30 AM, I just nodded, figuring I still had a few hours to wait. I took the kids to the waterpark first. Before I even finished changing, our butler, 'Little Crab,' added me on WeChat and enthusiastically told me to contact her directly if I needed anything. I thought, 'What could I possibly need?' Besides, based on my experience at another hotel (Yalong Bay HUALUXE), even if I had an issue, the butler there couldn't really help. Then, at precisely 12:28 PM, I received a text message: 'Dear valued guest, your room is ready. Please pick up your room key at the front desk at your convenience. Enjoy your stay.' Wow, I was genuinely touched! Let me explain why: when I stayed at the Yalong Bay HUALUXE, I asked the butler if we could check in an hour or even half an hour early so my younger daughter could rest. The staff kept saying no rooms were available or clean. There was nothing I could do because the website clearly stated 3 PM check-in, but my little one was so tired from the journey that she ended up falling asleep on me in the HUALUXE lobby. So, Atlantis Sanya's efficiency deeply impressed me. My younger daughter played at the waterpark until 2:30 PM, and it was perfect timing to go to the room for a quick nap, which completely re-energized her. Later, I didn't even have to ask, but Little Crab thoughtfully informed me that the drinks, coffee, fruit, and water in the room were all complimentary. That evening, my younger daughter wanted to take a bath, and I was worried about the cleanliness of the tub, so I asked the butler if they had any sanitizing wipes. She immediately responded, saying she could send staff up to clean it for me. Not only did they sanitize it, but they also brought a bath linerโso thoughtful! The next morning, we went to the G floor for breakfast. Because it was so crowded, the staff at the restaurant entrance suggested going to the 18th floor if we didn't want to wait. I asked if the food was the same upstairs and downstairs, and the server said there wasn't much difference. So, I went to the 18th floor, only to find a meager selection of food, nothing like what I'd seen on the first floor. I casually mentioned my regret to the butler, saying I shouldn't have come up and should have waited. To my surprise, the butler immediately had her colleague escort me from the 18th-floor restaurant back down to the first floor to dine. I was a bit embarrassed! This trip to Atlantis Sanya completely overshadowed my previous stay at Yalong Bay HUALUXE. I have to say, it was truly amazing. My kids and I loved it, and we definitely want to stay here again. A big thank you to Little Crab, our butler, for making this trip so special.

The room was great. I have to thank Trip.com, as I booked the wrong dates and they helped me get a full refund for those days, which I really appreciate.
However, the Eurotel is supposed to be a bit grander. My parents and I booked a suite, and I was going to sleep on the sofa for a night. I asked for an extra blanket, but the service here is quite inconsistent. The last staff member I spoke to helped me with the blanket, but the previous ones all said they didn't have any. It's not a big deal, but these small things make you feel uncomfortable. They told me all the blankets were checked out and there were no spares, but there were plenty of empty rooms online. Are you really telling me you'd rather leave rooms empty than give a guest an extra blanket? I ended up getting quite angry and complaining to customer service. Who wants to lose their temper during the New Year holiday?! Although it was eventually resolved, it still left a bad taste in my mouth.

Staying at the Hilton Wenchang this time was an absolute delight! So much emotional value. Many of the hotel's family-friendly activities are free, and childcare isn't expensive. Our butler, Lulu, was incredibly responsive to all our requests. Although the rocket launch we were hoping to see was canceled, we still had a fantastic time overall. This is definitely the top hotel for family trips to Wenchang.
**Value for money:** Better than Sanya.
**Recommendation:** Fu Ji Wenchang Chicken in Longlou Town. A must-try!
**Downsides:** Qishui Bay Beach is public and quite commercialized, with some litter.
**Small details:** Surprisingly, the plates used in the breakfast restaurant and executive lounge were plastic, which felt a bit cheap. There are a few minor details in the room that could be improved, like ensuring every window is sparkling clean.

Decided last minute to stay a night in Tianya Town and booked a boat-themed room at Fengbai! The room type was really interesting, truly felt like being in a ship's cabin. ZRS's operations are pretty good; all the facilities are well-equipped, and the hygiene was decent. You need to take a shuttle to get into Tianya Town, and this shuttle is a paid service by the scenic area. The parking lot also charges 40 per night for overnight parking. Overall, though, the B&B was great!

We specifically chose MGM to celebrate my child's 12th birthday, and the hotel really went above and beyond! They prepared a cake, fruit, pastries, coconuts, and even a little lion stuffed animal and a towel cake. It was incredibly thoughtful. We stayed in a poolside room, and the water temperature was perfect; most of the pools are heated, which was great for the kids. The petting zoo was fantastic, my child went multiple times to play with the animals. Overall, MGM is highly recommended for families with children, offering plenty of kids' activities and a lively atmosphere. There are performances in the middle of the pool and a beach bar where you can enjoy the ocean view while listening to music. The service was excellent, and our butler was very warm and attentive. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. All in all, it's a top-tier family-friendly hotel in Sanya. Awesome!

Facilities: This five-star hotel boasts comprehensive and luxurious facilities. The large balcony with a bathtub, lounge chair, and table is a thoughtful touch. The linens are of excellent quality and very comfortable. However, the toiletries could use an upgrade. The breakfast buffet is rich, varied, and delicious, featuring Hainanese specialties. Dishes and drinks are replenished promptly, which is a big plus! ๐
Cleanliness: Very clean and tidy! ๐
Environment: Both the interior and exterior environments are excellent! It really has a holiday vibe. The hotel offers very convenient and close access to the beach and seawall, and it's clean and not crowded.
Service: The front desk and housekeeping staff are well-trained. They actively greet guests and respond to guest requests promptly and proactively. A huge thumbs up! ๐

This ocean-view room was the most satisfying one I stayed in during my Sanya trip! The hotel is located in a small town with plenty of food options and night markets, which is super convenient! You open the curtains and there's the ocean. The room was clean, tidy, and odor-free, with disposable bath towels provided! Downstairs was lively with performances. In the evening, I could hear the sound of the waves and feel the sea breeze from the balcony, and it was still very quiet for sleeping once the windows were closed! The hotel also offered a complimentary travel photoshoot. You need to prepare your own makeup, hair, and outfits, and the photographer was excellent at guiding us. The front desk staff were also very enthusiastic!

Overall, it was decent. The hotel is a bit old, but the rooms are spacious, so it's a trade-off. Seeing that we had a child with us, they upgraded us to a suite. The room was very large, but on a lower floor.
Pros: First, the room truly was big, and with a suite, the smaller room was separate, so it didn't disturb the people in the main room. Second, the sea view was quite nice, perfect for watching both the sunrise and sunset.
Cons: First, the room was really old. Normally, a room of this building's age shouldn't be so run-down. The washing machine, light switches and sockets, and baseboards all had mildew spots. Second, the signal in the smaller room was very poor, and the air was stuffy. Third, the curtains in the main room offered no blackout at all. And since it was a large floor-to-ceiling window for the sea view, I wanted to sleep in the next day but was woken up by the sunlight early in the morning.
Breakfast deserves a separate mention. It's a shared buffet restaurant with the neighboring Belmont. The hotel is newer, the food selection is rich, the environment is great, and the price isn't expensive. This was initially a plus, but on the second day, I found the corn kernels in the salad were rotten. At first, I didn't realize it was the corn, only after eating some did I find out. When I told the staff, they immediately removed the corn kernels. I didn't make a big deal out of it at the time, and since I checked out before noon, I didn't bother the hotel further. However, I started having stomach pain and an upset stomach that afternoon. It must have been from the bad corn kernels. I bought medicine myself and it took 2 days to recover. I hope the hotel chefs pay more attention to quality control.

I stayed at Yalong Bay Earthly Paradise Birds Nest Resort in Sanya. The resort is marketed and priced as a luxury property. While the location, room quality, and cleanliness were satisfactory, the service level was severely below what is acceptable for a hotel in this category.
This was not an isolated incident but a consistent pattern of operational inefficiency and lack of professionalism.
Service Quality and Staff Preparedness
Throughout the stay, many staff members appeared very young and inexperienced. While this is not inherently negative, the lack of visible supervision, structured coordination, and professional training was evident. This may partially explain the repeated service failures, but it does not justify them โ especially at this price point. A luxury resort must ensure proper training and management oversight.
Dinner Experience
The restaurant had very few guests, yet the staff forgot to provide basic cutlery (forks and chopsticks). No one monitored the tables, and water was not refilled unless specifically requested. Even fundamental hospitality standards were not met.
Breakfast Management
Breakfast operations were disorganized. There was a waiting list based on arrival order, yet guests who arrived after us were allowed to enter before us. We were traveling with a small child, which made the delay particularly uncomfortable.
As compensation, staff promised to send fruit to our room. The fruit never arrived. Offering apologies without follow-through demonstrates poor internal coordination and lack of accountability.
Checkout and Transportation Failures
On departure day, we had to request luggage assistance three times before receiving support. We then waited 40 minutes for the shuttle to reception while several buses passed without stopping for us. During this time, we called reception three times without any effective resolution.
Because of this disorganization and delay at checkout, I was forced to postpone a lunch meeting in Sanya with a very important guest of mine who was waiting for me. This was a significant professional commitment. A luxury resortโs inefficiency directly impacting a guestโs business obligations is unacceptable.
Communication and Safety Concerns
No staff members spoke English. For a resort charging international luxury rates, the absence of English-speaking personnel is a serious limitation for foreign guests.
Additionally, there was no visible safety guard near the swimming pools, which raises concerns, especially for families with children.
Hotel Environment
The hotelโs reserved areas were crowded with external tourists mixed among hotel guests, resulting in noise, confusion, and a complete lack of exclusivity. The atmosphere was chaotic rather than relaxing. The resort does not appear structured to accommodate international travelers seeking privacy and refined service standards.
Overall Assessment
I have stayed in numerous high-end resorts worldwide where service is proactive, coordinated, and client-focused. At this property, service was consistently inadequate and far below the level expected for the rates charged.
Summary:
Location: good
Room: good
Cleanliness: good
Service: unacceptable
For a resort positioned as luxury, this level of service is indefensible. One of the most disappointing high-end hospitality experiences I have experienced.

The most memorable destination. I had traveled to in the past 10 years, Sanya, Earthly Paradise Bird's Nest Resort surprised me, a paradise on earth, I was blown away with such a beautiful experience. Starting from the facilities and ending with the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen. Friendly start always ready to cater to your needs a very clean resort in a tropical Forrest, admirable the work of the staff. A special thanks to Mannager Sun for her help all the way through our stay at the resort. Definitely, we had found a place where to celebrate our good times, an every year celebration for our family from now on. P.S. we celebrated our engagement ๐ this time on at the resort.

Excellent
The hotel building itself is a little bit aged and older but besides that, everything else was beyond excellent! Our e-butler Lucas Ji gone above and beyond. Whenever we had a question about anything, he replied instantaneously!! Rather it is hotel related or simply just asking for directions. The breakfast buffet was the best among our multiple cities trip. Food selections and taste were excellent. Services was again among the best we experienced on our trip. Our son loved the children playroom and the daily activity session. When asked, he reply with we should stay another 2 days before we left Sanya. Would highly recommend to family and friends and also hope to return in the near future !
Service was fantastic, hotel wasn't for me because I'm a solo traveller and the hotel is more for families. If you are a family definitely stay at this hotel as it is amazing for young children! Food was excellent, location was a little far from the main town of Sanya. Would have liked more beach chair options. The gym was fantastic and staff were very helpful. Fantastic trip all together.
I recently stayed at this amazing hotel and had a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and attentive service. The ambiance was elegant, and my room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and equipped with all the modern amenities I needed. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with any requests. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which offered a variety of delicious options to start my day. The location was also perfect, with easy access to local attractions and transport. The hotel facilities and pool, were top-notch. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and quality service. I can't wait to return!

Very Good
Very good hotel with high quality amenities and service. Breakfast options were also plentiful and we stayed for 3 nights and yet we still didnt manage to try everything. There is a private beach area but you cant swim due to the strong waves. One important mistake I made was there are 2 Sheratons, one at Haitang Bay and another at Yalong Bay. We went to the wrong hotel at first and had to book a taxi again to go to the correct one. At check in, there were also a few ladies that went to the wrong hotel as well. So for those booking, just make sure you go to the right one on the day.
First time in Hainan and first time back to visit China since 2004! Coming from London and New York, and having stayed in many hotels all over the world, we are truly impressed with the Atlantis and its facilities and amenities - most pleasantly surprised by impeccable cleanliness of the rooms and the public areas of the hotel. The ocean view from the balcony of the room is also fantastic. We have discovered that it is not that straight forward to be a tourist in China (mainly getting onto payment systems, getting local sims, making sure our devices work etc), having a โbutlerโ assigned to us out proved to be so so helpful - we received the friendliest and most thorough guidance from Elena. When we needed help in a bit of health emergency for my child, she was very responsive even though not on duty that day. The medical staff on duty in the hotel clinic, Miss Wu, was also most patient and obliging. In fact, all the staff in the hotel are trying their best to deliver world class service. The breakfast buffet is a massive spread with a huge variety, though in general it is quantity over quality (nevertheless we must say that the roast duck was done quite well). We only went to Ossiano for drinks but we could tell the cuisine would be exceptional from the complimentary amuse-bouche. There are of course some differences from a comparable grade hotel experience elsewhere - notably, the more than usual sharing of hotel facilities with non-hotel guests is something we are not used to. Apart from many non-hotel guests in the lobby and other public areas posing for photos, they can also pay to use the hotel swimming pools. There are a number of staff in public areas who work on commission to sell activities (shows, helicopter rides, photo shoots), which is also something less common elsewhere. Lastly, if you can figure it out on the chinese payment apps (thank goodness we have teenagers), it is quite fun to rent one of those pink bear electric Vespas and go up and down the strip.
Great hotel! Situated in the jungle. Lots of greenery, varied breakfasts, helpful staff (special thanks to Russian-speaking Lan)! Nearby is the wonderful Qixianling National Forest Park. Definitely recommend it.
