Guest UserI drove to the hotel, and from the moment I entered the underground parking garage, the signs were unclear. I circled around a few times and finally asked someone for directions to the elevator entrance. However, the elevator entrance had no Chinese signage, only an English hotel indicator. First-time guests would 100% not be able to find it! That door was a hidden, automatic door with no markings, just like a solid bronze wall. No one would know it was an elevator entrance; I also spent a long time searching and asking people before I found out, as shown in Figure 1.
In the room's bathroom, the shower system had no hot and cold water labels. I didn't know which way to turn to get hot or cold water, nor did I know if the control switch for the overhead shower and the handheld shower was up or down. I had to figure it out by trial and error! When I turned on the switch, because there were no hot/cold or overhead/handheld shower labels, cold water poured down from above, giving me a chilling surprise! As shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3.
Breakfast was inconvenient due to the small dining area and too many guests, which meant long queues. The staff's attitude wasn't very good either! Many online reviews are seriously inconsistent with the reality. This hotel definitely needs significant improvement!

Guest UserThis hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable! It's so close to the subway, I almost worried I'd miss it. There are so many great food options nearby, I couldn't resist indulging. The room was sparkling clean, and the soundproofing was so good I couldn't even hear snoring from next door. The value for money is incredible, just book it!

Guest UserThis is probably my second stay at Guangdong Guest House; the first was ten years ago, right before my child turned six. It's an established government-run hotel, and the service and environment are impeccable. I remember first encountering it back in 2002 during the Canton Fair, when the Shenzhen Economic and Trade Commission's Guangzhou liaison office was located here. Although it's in a bustling area, the interior environment is quiet and peaceful. Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou both visited here. This used to be a general's mansion during the Qing Dynasty. Behind the hotel is the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, and Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is just a twenty-minute walk away. It's convenient in every aspect. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

Guest UserLearning from past mistakes! A few years ago, we stayed at a chain hotel in Shangxiajiu, Guangzhou, just for convenience when we were passing through on our way to Chimelong Zhuhai. The windowless room was tiny and dirty, and my daughter complained about it for years.
This time for our trip to Chimelong Guangzhou, I checked Xiaohongshu, and many folks from Zhejiang recommended Guode. I decisively booked it instead of the B&B my sister suggested, and we took a taxi straight here after visiting Chimelong.
The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to the metro station, and you can find great food everywhere! The front desk staff was incredibly thoughtful; seeing that we had an elderly person with us, they immediately brought non-slip slippers and arranged a quiet, non-smoking room for us.
The room was spacious and bright, the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the large bed was super comfortable. Both the elderly and the children were completely satisfied throughout our stay. Outside the window is the bustling cityscape of Guangzhou, while inside it's quiet and comfortable. This is definitely our top choice for our next trip to Guangzhou! P.S. Ordering takeout is convenient. It's also very close to Datong, which my mom loves, so we can sleep in, then take a stroll and enjoy some authentic Cantonese dim sum – pure bliss.

Guest UserHygiene: Surprisingly clean, felt like new, no strange odors – excellent!
Ambiance: The hotel lobby smelled wonderful, and the attention to detail was impressive.
Service: I mentioned there was no milk for my coffee, and the front desk staff very enthusiastically provided some warmed milk for free. The service was incredibly thoughtful.
Facilities: Even a bathroom scale was provided; the amenities are very comprehensive, completely up to star-rated hotel standards.
I'll definitely be back!

The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the golf course, and the large bathtub on the balcony was great for a soak in the evening. However, I didn't dare use it during the day due to a lack of privacy. Golf hotels generally tend to be less crowded, quiet, and safe, guaranteeing good room and dining quality. On the downside, the complimentary snacks in the minibar seemed unhealthy. Also, the 100 RMB dining voucher required a minimum spend of 200 RMB, which wasn't ideal; it would have been better not to offer it at all. Perhaps because the air conditioning in the room and throughout the hotel was set quite high, there was a damp smell when I first entered the room, and the air purifier wasn't working. In the morning, since the room was above the restaurant, I could actually smell faint cooking odors on the balcony, instead of the natural scent of the grass, which was a bit disappointing. Sometimes, the noise from the lawnmowers was quite loud. The hotel lobby bar had some real books for quiet reading, which was a nice touch. Across from the hotel is Zhangbei Park, which is worth a visit. The hotel is also very close to the Oncology Hospital, Dayun Metro Station, and Sam's Club.

WaltzCame to Dongguan for a basketball game and chose this hotel. The hotel is a bit old, but well-maintained, located in the middle of a golf course, surrounded by greenery, and very quiet. Even though it was November, my kids insisted on swimming, and the water was very clean with not many people around. It was very relaxing to vacation here. Breakfast options were limited and just so-so, but the hotel's set lunch for two was decent. Special shoutout to service staff Xiao Zhu (Little Zhu) for his warm and attentive service. He explained everything clearly and in detail, and even helped us move a bed. Thank you! I'd definitely come back to stay here again if I have the chance.

Anonymous UserThe hotel environment was comfortable, and the front desk upgraded my room to one with a beautiful lake view at night. We arrived at the hotel around 12 PM on Sunday, but it was so crowded that we had to wait until past 2 PM to even queue for check-in. My elderly companions had to wait for a long time during their usual nap time and sat on the sofa for ages. We didn't get checked in until after 3 PM. I hope the hotel can staff up on holidays to improve efficiency. It's a shame that some facilities at the water park were closed for maintenance, leaving only attractions for younger children. Perhaps because it was fully booked the day before (Saturday) and there were so many visitors, some of the hot spring pools felt quite dirty and the water was a bit murky when we went to the water world on Sunday. However, the water quality was cleaner on Monday morning. Hygiene definitely needs improvement.

Guest UserThis Japanese-style hotel offers excellent service. I had a bit of trouble finding my room, but a staff member kindly escorted me all the way to the elevator. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and well-balanced nutritionally. They also provide complimentary coffee vouchers, and there's Japanese ramen available late at night, which was perfect for unwinding after a long day!

The location is excellent, with many shops nearby. I could see Qinghui Garden from my window, and it's within walking distance of the hotel. The commercial street is also close by. This hotel has a bit of history, and they do a good job with cultural elements; for example, on the 8th floor near the elevator, there were displays and information about Xiangyunsha silk. The room was spacious and comfortable. It feels like the hotel has been around for a while, and its management is quite mature and organized. Housekeeping was also very responsive. The linens felt good to the touch, and overall, I was quite satisfied with the cleanliness. The hotel's own restaurant, Xiangyunxuan (on floors 2-4), serves pretty good food, and if you time it right, you can go down to eat and avoid peak hours.
Currently, the area outside the hotel is undergoing road construction, with a lot of cement and mud (a lesson learned the hard way), so I recommend using the specific road the hotel has opened for access.
