Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu Hotel was an amazing experience! The hotel boasts multiple natural hot springs with a rich variety of baths and breathtaking scenery; soaking in them left me feeling completely refreshed. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with stylish Japanese decor that ensures privacy. The dinner buffet was exquisite, featuring fresh and delicious ingredients. The staff were warm and attentive, always greeting guests with a smile. Its convenient location also offers easy access to transportation. Both the facilities and service truly reflect the high quality of Japanese onsen hotels. Highly recommended!

Hakone Hotel Kowakien, a natural onsen hotel offering dinner and breakfast that I'd rate 90 out of 100. It's not easy to impress me in Hakone, the famed hot spring town in Kanagawa Prefecture, but this hotel truly excelled across all criteria, showing a consistently high standard. Both the front desk and restaurant staff were attractive, with fluent English and standard accents; notably, they didn't employ any Southeast Asian staff. The hotel facilities are relatively new and well-designed, and the cleanliness is exceptional. The public areas offer plenty of sofa seating, and the temperature control is precise, allowing guests to comfortably wander around in traditional yukata without feeling cold. The air is fresh with no strong artificial scents, embodying a 'Natural and Pure' concept.

The restaurant, named Fontainebleau, lives up to its name with authentic French pastries. The 'all-you-can-eat' style still maintains high-quality ingredients, and there's an unlimited supply of Sapporo Asahi draft beer and Gekkeikan sake. What's more, the self-service alcohol bar is also open during breakfast, which seems quite common for Japanese guests – their physical resilience certainly differs from ours! Observing Japanese dining concepts, you'll notice several characteristics: a wide variety of dishes, comprehensive nutrition, low-temperature preservation, minimal oil and seasoning, and avoiding high-temperature cooking to prevent nutrient loss.

The sauna is also quite professional, featuring a 12-minute sand timer, anti-scald mats, humidity and temperature displays, and powerful heating elements that ensure you won't waste any time. Whether you prefer mountain views, garden vistas, or indoor hot springs, there's an option for everyone.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night and it was not enough! ￼ it was very peaceful and relaxing, ￼ I chose the room with the private onsen because I have a lot of tattoos ￼ and it was the best decision! ￼ After checkout I wanted to go to Ōwakudani but I missed the bus so the male stuff￼ drove me in his car to the Gora station. I am very grateful for that! And I was lucky to see the Mount Fuji!

Overall, my stay was very satisfying. The hotel's location is convenient, with smooth traffic access nearby, making it perfect for both sightseeing and business trips.

The room was spacious and clean, with well-maintained facilities. The bed was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a restful sleep. The amenities were complete and of good quality, showing attention to detail.

The staff were friendly and professional; I experienced excellent service quality from check-in to check-out. They were prompt and thoughtful in responding to my needs. Fantastic!

My family and I stayed here for three nights, two in a modern Japanese-style room (和モダン「粋」-sui-和室) (breakfast included) and one in a Japanese-style room in the main building (和風ルーム (main building)).

My family loved the tatami rooms, so both were excellent experiences. The hotel breakfast is also highly recommended. The Japanese breakfast includes a small hot pot and freshly steamed rice in a clay pot, perfect for Chinese palates who love hot food. It offers a balanced selection of fish, meat, eggs, and dairy. One day, the hotel even had a Chinese-speaking staff member take care of our table, which was incredibly thoughtful.

We also highly recommend the hot springs. The large baths were wonderful, and they have the only drinkable hot spring water in Ito, which is good for your digestion.

I signed up for a membership during my stay and would love to stay here again!

The best hotel on this trip to Japan, love. Open the door, my friend exclaimed that it was the landlord's house 😄. Pure Japanese style, the housekeeper began to introduce in detail from the front desk, and came to the door to bring hot tea and Japanese snacks, friendly and comfortable. The private soup in the room is not too good! The room was delivered with snow muscle essence suit gifts, as well as small bags with kimono, which repeatedly reminded us that we could take it away as gifts. The slippers are wooden rafts, which is really a proper atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast are served in the room. The little girl waiter smiled and introduced them together, and they came up one by one, which was no different from the Michelin we had eaten. When we left, the waiter took the initiative to take pictures of us and printed them for us on the spot. The smile waved us away from the sight. This service and experience are really great value. If you go to Izu next time, it’s not here.

Pros: Spacious rooms, good hotel service, excellent breakfast, about a ten-minute walk from the west exit of Fukui Station. The hotel is near the Fukui Prefectural Office and Fukui City Hall. I will stay here again next time I have the chance.
