I stayed at the Shuxiang Fudi Hotel in Zhouzhuang, and overall, it was a great experience. What impressed me most was the service: as soon as we arrived at the parking lot, a staff member was already there to greet us. They then helped us get our entrance tickets and personally escorted us all the way to the hotel – it was incredibly thoughtful. The breakfast wasn't particularly elaborate, but it tasted good. At check-out, they even gave us a souvenir, which was a very nice touch. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Zhouzhuang.

Traveling with my dog, I booked a duplex room hoping for more space, and it exceeded my expectations! Not only did it have a small private courtyard upon entry, but there was also a large exclusive outdoor terrace, which was incredibly convenient and pet-friendly. The entire living environment was clean, tidy, and odor-free. The two front desk girls were exceptionally thoughtful; even during the busy May Day holiday, they didn't forget to prepare a special breakfast for my dog!

The winding path leads to a secluded place, which is a little hidden from the world.
[Service] The front desk staff is enthusiastic and always helps to solve problems with a smile. There are cars to pick us up when we arrive and leave the store, which is very convenient for us with a lot of bags.
[Room] The room can meet the needs of a large family, but the smart control switch in the room is a bit confusing and needs to be explored and adapted; the air conditioning in the room is powerful and the air conditioning is full, so be careful not to catch a cold; the hot spring is great for the whole family to take a bath and play in the water, and the children don’t want to come out to play.
[Three meals] The food is not bad. The 398 yuan set meal ordered for dinner has a few more dishes, and the family is a little full. There are activities on the lawn in the evening, and some barbecue is ordered. Breakfast this time is a buffet, and the variety basically meets the needs of the whole family.
[Play] The hotel has prepared a variety of DIY activities for children, such as making fans and dumplings; the hotel’s own playground allows children to play; the hotel’s path can directly reach the camp without tickets, and kayaking and archery are recommended; the hotel has a small book corner and borrowed a book to read.

Five stars are good, but I'd give it six!

First, let's talk about the location: Suzhou's old town is absolutely packed on weekends, so a good hotel location is crucial for an enjoyable trip. Exit the hotel and turn right, and Pingjiang Road is just 50 meters away. Go another kilometer, and you'll find the Lotus Market at Baitai Park and the Flower and Bird Market on Pishi Street—all showcasing the best of old Suzhou. After parking at the hotel, the best way to explore is to rent an electric scooter. Feel the breeze through your hair under the trees. Within a 5-kilometer radius, you can reach almost 90% of old Suzhou's attractions. It's pure bliss!

Room facilities: If there's one minor drawback, it's that the hardware is a bit older. But then again, with such a great location and this level of service, it wouldn't be this price if it hadn't been open for a while. So, in a way, it's just the other side of the coin. Of course, the hotel has made many efforts, such as installing Washlets later on, and the linens are well-maintained. What's particularly amazing are the hotel's teas—they're truly excellent.

Breakfast: Absolutely a bonus! You must try the Cifan Tuan (sticky rice rolls), sweet with preserved mustard greens—the texture is simply first-rate. The young man making the rice rolls was also very kind, chatting as if with family. It seems they also have a seasonal dish recommendation among the stir-fries. On the day I visited, it was edamame with water bamboo, which was incredibly tender.

Finally, the overall service: The staff at the front desk, both the young men and women, were excellent. It was hot, and I appreciate their thoughtful service.

During my recent trip to Suzhou, I had the pleasure of staying at 'Shantang Shuxiang Residence'. It's a tranquil oasis tucked away from the bustling city; just ten steps out, you're amidst the lively streets, yet within the hotel's courtyard, a sense of peace envelops you. I distinctly recall a sweltering day with heavy traffic, but thankfully, a rickshaw from the street corner whisked us through the alleyways with refreshing speed. 

The hotel's garden isn't large, and our room was in a charming two-story wooden building. The elegant room was spacious and tidy. I particularly appreciated the firm bed, which allowed for a comfortable night's sleep without any back pain. All the toiletries were Bvlgari, and there were even books on the desk for a quiet read.

Before check-in, I added the butler on WeChat, who arranged a rickshaw to pick us up and even provided fresh fruit and afternoon tea. Later, when the AC in our initial room started dripping, they promptly moved us to another room without any fuss. The front desk staff were warm and greeted us every time we entered or left. What touched me most was during breakfast, my child accidentally threw away their retainer with some waste paper, and the restaurant auntie, without hesitation, sifted through the trash to find it for us – a special thank you to her.

Though the breakfast was simple, it was well-balanced and satisfying. The chicken noodle soup was excellent; my son even had two bowls. Since the hotel is located within a scenic area, there are plenty of eateries and snacks everywhere. This place perfectly blends the convenience of city life with the elegance of a garden, making it a top choice for a visit to Suzhou.

Traveling with my two besties, every step in Xuntang Ancient Town was picturesque. After a leisurely stroll, we checked into a Chinese-style hotel housed in a century-old ancient town building. Our suite was warm and grand, with elegant classical decor, and the service was incredibly thoughtful, with impressive attention to detail. We even received a handwritten welcome letter sealed with wax and warm food late at night – absolutely delighted! Attaching two small photos of the suite's backyard.
