"Just a few minutes' walk from Abashiri Bus Station, and about a 15-minute walk to the icebreaker terminal. Across the bridge behind the hotel, there's a local supermarket with lots of great deals, and also a pharmacy. The view from the hotel window is beautiful; you can see many geese on the other side of the river. The hotel has a hot spring, free popsicles on the 9th floor, and you can borrow manga to read. After 9:30 PM, there's free ramen."

"The location is great, right across from the JR station. The room was reasonably spacious for two adults and one child. We arrived at noon, and when we got our room key and went up, we found the room was still being cleaned. We were told it wouldn't be ready until after 3 PM. You have to buy disposable slippers at the front desk. On the first floor, there's a water dispenser, ice machine, and microwave in the lobby."

"It’s a very warm and hospitable local inn, not one of those stylish chain hotel brands. But if you’re visiting a place like Abashiri, which is rich in local charm and warmth, you absolutely must stay here."

"Nice location and on a walkable distance to the center or 7/11. Personnel are friendly. In the room itself was no toilet and shower. Toilet is outside the room and the shower is in the public onsen. There is a coinlaundry and vending machines. Parking is available next to the hotel. The smell of the room was not nice."

"The hotel is situated on the shores of Lake Abashiri, offering absolutely stunning lake-view rooms. It's very convenient if you're driving, but less so by public transport, as only the airport line goes there. It's best to check the timetable carefully and arrive early; otherwise, you'll need the front desk to help you call a taxi. A taxi from Abashiri city center costs around 2000 yen. The service is excellent; it's a Japanese government-designated international hospitality hotel. However, it's clear that it's a product of a period of rapid economic development, having made many compromises to cater to modern clientele. For example, the large public bath has a peeling ceiling, the breakfast selection is meager, and the rooms have a worn-out feel. The most unbearable thing is the room type with two single beds in the tatami room—the layout looks really strange—and the shower water pressure is too low; a 10-minute shower took half an hour."

"Recently, I stayed at the Abashiri Royal Hotel for one night during my trip to Eastern Hokkaido. When choosing a hotel in Abashiri City, I placed importance on access from the station and the abundance of hot spring facilities, so I decided to make a reservation at the Royal Hotel, which met my criteria perfectly. As a result, I was very satisfied with the location from the station and the hot spring facilities, but there were some disappointing aspects in terms of the facilities in the rooms, so I would like to share my honest impressions. First, about access. It is very close to JR Abashiri Station, about a 5-minute walk, and is a very convenient location for sightseeing and transportation. You can see the hotel just a short walk from the station, so even travelers who are unfamiliar with the area should be able to get there without getting lost. There are also restaurants and convenience stores scattered around, so you won't have any trouble shopping or eating. In particular, there are several small izakayas around the hotel that serve local Abashiri cuisine, making it the perfect environment for enjoying a night on your trip. When you enter the building, you will be greeted by a classic lobby that retains an old-fashioned atmosphere. The staff at the front desk were very polite and answered all my questions about sightseeing with kindness. The check-in process was smooth, and I headed straight to my room after receiving the key. The room was a standard size for a business hotel, well-cleaned, and the bed was carefully made. However, the only disappointment of this stay was the malfunction of the air conditioner in the room. When I checked in, the room felt a little muggy, and although I turned on the air conditioner, it didn't cool down easily, and even when I changed the temperature setting, the air volume was weak and it seemed like almost no cold air was coming out. At night, I managed to avoid the heat by opening the window a little, but the noise from outside was a bit bothersome, and to be honest, I didn't get a good night's sleep. I thought about contacting the front desk, but since I arrived late, I decided to hold off this time. On the other hand, I was very satisfied with the hot spring facilities. The large public bath on the top floor of the hotel was not that large, but it was clean, and it was said to use local natural hot springs, so my skin felt smooth. The temperature of the water was just right, and it was a great place to relieve the fatigue of a long journey. There is also a sauna, so you can sweat at high temperatures. The flow of traffic between the bath and the water bath is well thought out, and I was glad that there were several chairs prepared. A morning bath was also available, so I was able to leave the next morning feeling refreshed. As for breakfast, I did not use it this time because I stayed with a plan without meals, but according to reviews from other guests, it was a Japanese and Western buffet style using ingredients from Hokkaido, so I would definitely like to stay with breakfast included next time. Overall, I felt that the Abashiri Royal Hotel was close to the station, had a good bathing facility, and was a convenient hotel as a base for sightseeing and business. However, I think there is room for improvement in the facilities in the guest rooms, especially in terms of air conditioning. Depending on the season, this may not be a big problem, but I felt that it would be better if the maintenance was a little more thorough in the summer and hot and humid seasons to make a comfortable stay. The town of Abashiri itself is very attractive, and there are many things to see, such as drift ice sightseeing, the prison museum, and Cape Notoro, so I would definitely use it when I visit again. I hope the air conditioning works properly next time and I look forward to a more comfortable stay."

To ensure freshness and comfort, each room is also equipped with the Air Sophia Deodorizing Spray, featuring plant-based antibacterial and deodorizing ingredients. Enjoy a comfortable and convenient stay in Abashiri!

"The room is large enough to accommodate two suitcases. One bed had soft pillows and the other had seed hard pillows. The room is very close to Asahikawa Bus Terminal. But when we went there, we got off the wrong train at the previous station, Asahikawa Train Station, so we had to walk in the snow for more than ten minutes dragging our heavy luggage. It was very tiring. There is a larger 711 near the hotel. A 10-minute walk will take you to the shopping street, where you can find yakiniku and ramen shops, warehouse-style supermarkets, second-hand shops, electronic digital stores, and capsule toy shops. You can contact the front desk to make an appointment for a taxi. Although taxis are expensive in Japan, if you don't know about public transportation, it is still very convenient to take a taxi to go ice fishing or icebreaking."
