"The apart-hotel is located in the center of Playa del Carmen, close to Walmart, MEGA, OXXO, and other shopping options. It's a 10-minute walk to the beach. We weren't keen on the beach itself due to the seaweed and lack of natural shade from trees. The hotel itself is modernly furnished, and everything is functional. The kitchen comes equipped with dishes, cutlery, a microwave, a refrigerator, a stove, and more, making it easy to cook your own meals. "Pros - the staff is all wonderful. The resort has been recently renovated so it’s in relatively good condition.  Cons - the food isn’t great… I would call it mediocre verging on poor. The a la carte restaurants weren’t great either and I would call the booking system/insane red tape process to visit the a la carte restaurants off putting, verging on insane.  I probably won’t be back for the above stated reasons, but I must reiterate that all of the service staff were truly lovely and no question the highlight of the trip."

"Great location in Playa Del Carmen! The one-bedroom apartment had everything we needed and a very comfy bed. My only complaint was the shower—the fixed ceiling head and weak pressure made it difficult to use, and the water felt a bit salty/brackish. Other than that, we had a lovely stay!"

"This hotel is perfectly located on a block away from the main *****. You can hear the music carry over from nearby bars but that didn’t bother me, it’s expected in a location like this. Upon checking in they give you a tv remote and tell you not to move the thermostat. The AC was fixed to run all night and did not have an automatic feature, so it made for extremely cold nights. The reason I lowered the rating is the customer service. You are given only two towels and there was no hand towels at all. I tried calling the front desk but nobody answered the 6 times I called. I had to go down and grab one myself where I was asked to sign one out. No big deal. However, the following day housekeeping took this towel and never replaced it. I hope I don’t get charged for a small hand towel"

"Very good hotel and location. All staff we dealt with were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is clean and well maintained, rooms were very nice. Be aware that the low priced rooms (at least mine) had a view of a wall. The rooftop pool was great, lots of places to sit and courteous staff. Close to 5th Ave and a short walk to the beaches. I'd stay again for sure."

"The hotel's facilities and rooms are genuinely good; the room was huge, the kitchen was fully equipped, and it was very clean. However, service in Mexico is just okay, so don't expect too much. Before checking in, I specifically requested a room away from the highway, but I still ended up with a ground-floor room facing the road, and they told me it wouldn't be noisy. Well, when you come to Mexico, you just have to lower your service expectations – you won't get the kind of service you're used to in Asia. Overall, I'd recommend it; the hotel itself is fine. It's just that Mexico might not be the best fit for travelers like us who are accustomed to traveling in Asia; the cultural differences can lead to a gap in travel expectations."

"I reserved a room via Trip.com for the Reef Playacar at a good price of about $168. But when I checked in with my fiancé, They told me the room was for only one person and that it would cost another $120 for her! The lady at the front desk was not very understanding at all and said she could not modify my reservation… I said we did not knew need any kind of meals included, but she did not help us at all."
