The Paradise Dambulla
"The Iran/America conflict has reduced visitor number to Sri Lanka. However, the hotel staff laid on a fantastic service and made us feel very welcome. It’s a special place to visit with fantastic rooms, great food, a lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and numerous facilities."
Hotel Sigiriyaaya
"A wonderful hotel in a quiet location among rice fields. Peacocks and the sounds of the jungle. If you love nature and solitude, this is perfect! Just remember that there's no "civilization" right next door. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. The reception is very warm. The breakfast and dinner were delicious! Thanks to all the hotel staff. Most importantly for those traveling by car, the road Google defaults to on the lake side is bad, full of potholes; we barely made it. The road on the other side, while rough, is much better. I've attached a map in the photo."
Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort Sigiriya
"We spent two weeks at Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort Sigiriya, and it was one of the most meaningful and transformative stays we have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel welcome and cared for. The staff is genuinely kind, attentive, and professional. A special appreciation goes to the reception team for their constant support and smooth organization throughout our stay. The Ayurvedic kitchen deserves outstanding recognition. The cuisine was perfectly aligned with our individual treatment plans – light, balanced, healing, and full of natural flavor. Every meal clearly followed Ayurvedic principles and supported the cleansing process. This was not just healthy food – it was therapeutic nutrition prepared with knowledge and care. We are especially grateful to the two Ayurvedic doctors. On the first day, we had a detailed consultation, after which a personalized diet and treatment program was designed specifically for us. Throughout the two weeks, they carefully monitored our progress and adjusted therapies accordingly. Their approach was professional, precise, and very reassuring. Our daily schedule included treatments such as massages, herbal steam therapy, Shirodhara (three sessions), Virechana, and Panchakarma Basti – all conducted by experienced therapists under medical supervision. The level of organization and medical oversight gave us complete confidence in the process. The resort environment itself is beautiful – a peaceful green garden setting where monkeys and peacocks move freely, creating a strong connection with nature. The atmosphere is calm, quiet, and perfectly suited for healing and reflection. We also appreciated that the resort helped arrange guided excursions during our stay, making it easy and comfortable to explore the nearby cultural and natural sites while maintaining our treatment schedule. Morning and evening Hatha Yoga sessions were another highlight. The teachers, Master Rajapaksha and Master Suranga, guided us not only through physical practice but also introduced elements of Buddhist philosophy and mindful living, which added deeper meaning to the entire experience. Ayugiri is not a typical wellness resort. It is a place dedicated to authentic Ayurveda, discipline, and genuine healing. After two weeks, we left feeling lighter – physically and mentally. This was not just a vacation. It was a true reset."
Jetwing Vil Uyana, A Luxury Reserve
"Sublime experience at Vil Uyana. Everything was perfect. Staff were cordial and helpful. Our butler, Rushantha John, was par excellence. He made our stay very comfortable. Food was awesome. Try the Sri Lankan breakfast which was delicious. We stayed in a water bungalow which was really beautiful. Totally recommended."

Water Garden Sigiriya - 30 Chic Designed Private Villas Overlooking Sigiriya
"I would say that this is probably the best hotel we have stayed at anywhere in the world. Staff are absolutely amazing. Facilities similarly amazing. Food stunning. Close to all the local attractions. Cannot recommend this highly enough."
Liyya Water Villas
"First, this hotel is in a very remote location, with nothing nearby, making it difficult to get around. Secondly, the hotel's design clearly shows a lot of effort, but it's not well maintained. We were moved four rooms in one day. Within 10 minutes of checking in, they told us there was a plumbing problem. After a long wait, they moved us to a different room type. After checking in, we still had no water. In the third room, large bugs kept dropping onto the bed and onto our bodies throughout the night, which was terrifying. We finally got our final room cleaned and changed after 10 PM. We finally got some sleep, but the next morning, the stationary hair dryer was broken again! We had our laundry done, and they told us we didn't need to iron it, only wash it. But when we checked out, they still charged us for the ironing! Luckily, my husband had texted them about our request via What's Up, and they were able to get rid of the extra charge. This completely delayed our plans for the better part of a day!"
Sigiriana Resort by Thilanka
"Loved this hotel, fabulous large room and ensuite, with separate walk in shower and bath. Good AC and working fridge, comfy bed. Fab scenery from balcony, looking out on paddy fields, snd amazing sounds from wildlife at night. Safe should be secured to some surface though, so it can't be lifted. Food was good standard, very similar to other hotels we visited. Pool area was super, nice amount of beds and tables and chairs, plenty of towels available. Bar was nice, good singer one night who took our requests and got us all up dancing. Bar staff were excellent, much quicker than in other places, and more than willing to learn how to make a Baby Guinness!"
Amaara Forest Hotel Sigiriya
"We had a good stay at this hotel. The food was delicious with a great variety, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. Although it is a little far from Sigiriya Rock, the peaceful forest atmosphere makes it a perfect place to relax."

Arika Villa
"We had a pleasant stay at Arika Villa. The property has a nice boutique feel, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well kept. The staff were helpful—especially Sakshini at the front desk—and Chef Dinesh prepared good meals during our stay. Overall, a good and comfortable stay option in Dambulla."
Sigiriya Forest Edge By Marino Leisure
"The wooden house is located next to the national park. The facilities are very new, the room is large, the green landscape is very good, but there are no mosquitoes. The restaurant has rich and delicious breakfast and dinner, and the service is good. It is very close to the Lion Rock Scenic Area, which is convenient for watching the sunrise and sunset. The hotel can also arrange pick-up"
Pinthaliya Resort
"Our stay at Pinthaliya Resort & Spa was truly a memorable experience. Both my husband and I were extremely satisfied with the warm service and unique facilities the resort had to offer. Although communication with staff could sometimes be challenging due to language barriers, their friendliness and willingness to help always 'more', made up for it. Their warm smiles and accommodating nature created an atmosphere of genuine hospitality that made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the Tree House. For those seeking adventure and a chance to reconnect with nature, it’s an experience like no other. Perched high in a massive tree and surrounded by jungle, the Tree House offers a truly immersive experience. Lianas drape around the structure, while macaques, colorful birds, peacocks, and even a curious squirrel provide endless entertainment. The squirrel, in particular, made a lasting impression with its nightly visits through a small opening in the bathroom door—a harmless and charming little guest. From the soothing calls of birds during the day to the echoing cries of peafowl at night, nature’s soundtrack accompanies you at every moment. The Tree House itself is thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials, including air conditioning, clean towels, fresh bedding, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Despite its rustic charm, it offers a comfortable and clean retreat. The attached bathroom, though simple, is well-designed and fits seamlessly into the natural surroundings. One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking view from the Tree House on clear days—an unobstructed glimpse of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress rising majestically over the treetops. However, one thing that could significantly enhance the experience is the addition of curtains in the room and bathroom. The lack of privacy in such a naturally open setting was noticeable, and addressing this would personally add a full 5-star from me. Breakfast was included in our package, and we loved the flexibility of dining either on the patio or inside the restaurant. Although the menu is somewhat limited, the staff is always happy to accommodate special requests with advance notice. For instance, I requested some of the delicious dhal served at dinner, paired with a fresh paratha for breakfast, and it was happily prepared. However, we advise future guests to plan their meals wisely and communicate their preferences early, as the kitchen may not have all menu items available depending on occupancy. The resort also features a beautifully maintained pool next to the restaurant area. Spending an evening by the pool, under the stars, with a refreshing drink in hand was a lovely way to wind down after a day of exploring. The lush greenery surrounding the resort is simply stunning, immersing guests in the heart of the jungle. Overall, Pinthaliya Resort & Spa offers a tranquil escape with warm service, unique accommodations, and a setting that feels"
Wild Grass Nature Resort
"We stayed for two nights in a two bedroom villa with private pool. The house and pool were really nice as is the property. The living room is not air conditioned and so you can’t really use it until after sundown as it is super hot, even with the fan on. The pool is small and lovely - a great reprieve for kids between activities. The two bedrooms are nice and the house embedded in nature, feeling incredibly secluded and private. The food was really good, fresh seafood, great prices and easy/casual with kids. My only comment is that the prices are high compared to similar experiences and amenities we had in other places. That said everything was lovely!!"
SigiriyaJungles Resort & Spa
"May be we should rate this hotel higher but it is difficult to do so for the following reasons. The bedroom had rubbish under the curtains on the floor upon arrival which says that the room wasn’t cleaned properly The electrics were very poor - I tried to plug my phone into the socket next to the bed and the socket immediately fell off the wall, also, the hair dryer was stuck together with sticky-tape!!!! See photos. Next the swimming pool itself guests had been smoking and their used cigarettes were still there!!! This is very bad. I hate smoking and I hate used cigarettes, especially within 1-2 meters of a swimming pool. See photos. I did use the pool but on getting out I wanted to return to our bedroom with the towel around me - the pool man ran after me and told me that I wasn’t allowed to take the towel to the room, despite just getting out of the pool. Clearly he thinks guests cannot be trusted to take towels back to the rooms… does the hotel really think I want to keep a cheap towel?!?! On check out reception do not let you depart until your room as been checked in case you haven’t declared something taken from the mini-bar! Or may it was the towel! Some of the food at the buffet was cold, eg the kitchen brought out a new lasagne… but it was cold, ie very cold. Should we have complained… we were staying for two nights only and didn’t want to spend our valuable time doing so although we did point out the cleaning issue in the bedroom. However, other aspects of the hotel are good. They looked after dietary requirements very well indeed and the chef took a personal interest and this was very much appreciated. The actual swimming pool itself is lovely and the hotel grounds and general situation, and the hotel building itself is very nice indeed especially with the breeze flowing through the reception area. The hotel grounds are well maintained and there are golf buggies available to take you to your room."

"Clean hotel with great staff nice deco with flushing pool comfortable rooms best service of food make sure to check out the burgers 🍔 they are amazing staff is doing their best to make people satisfied really loved it"
Elysia Sigiriya Hotel
"I really don't recommend this hotel at all. At first glance the environment seems nice, but once you get on the bed, it's so rustling. I changed to another bed and it was still the same. There was sand on the beds in every room and they couldn't be cleaned even after shaking. The problem is that there is no sea here, and the locals like to walk barefoot. The locals don't use quilts, but the blankets they sent looked like they hadn't been washed for hundreds of years. Breakfast is also quite local"
Freedom Village
"A gem of a place with everything you need. Comfortable bed, mosquito net, air con and took a lovely traditional breakfast in the restaurant. Very cheap and hospitality plus. The host was very helpful with local knowledge and very friendly. "
Athena Lake by Seedevi
"Athena Lake was the perfect stay during our time visiting the Sigiriya area. The staff was very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast and dinner are in a beautiful setting, we felt very relaxed and absolutely loved the food! We actually think their Sri Lankan curry was the best we had! A lot of their produce is also grown in their own garden. Definitely a place to remember, thank you Athena Lake!"
Sundaras Family Suites

Sundaras Resort & Spa Dambulla
"Arjune was an incredible host - giving us great advice on the area and local secrets, in his charming English - I felt very much at home with my girlfriend on this stay. Great pool, exceptional food and I would recommend the breakfast included!"
Liyya Water Villas
"We had a wonderful stay at Liyya Water Villas and truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and offered beautiful views of the surrounding nature. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and always ready to support us with a smile. The food was goog but need to improve little more, and the overall service was good. Thank you for your hospitality."
Purasanda Villa
"We had a great stay at Purasanda Villa. It is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and feels like a home away from home. The food was amazing, and Mr. Weerasekara and his family were very kind and helpful. They even arranged a tour around Dambulla so we could see the main sights in a short time. The villa also feels very safe for female solo travellers or small groups of women. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Purasanda Villa to anyone visiting the area"
Sundaras Sigiria Jungles Cave Resort
"The room was spacious and even provided disposable toiletries. It was quiet at night. The room also had a key card for electricity, and the air conditioning and fan were on as soon as you entered, making it very comfortable. Breakfast was a Sri Lankan breakfast option, which was quite plentiful."
Sigiriya Kingdom Resort
"Beautiful hotel. Good location. Very nice location and the hotel was easy to find. The staff were very helpful. Overall stay was fantastic. Would love to come again."
Seasons Villa Sigiriya, Sri Lanka
"The service staff is very enthusiastic, the location is not easy to find for the first time, away from the main road in the rural road, the house price is cheap, if you are poor, you can consider it here, burning thick, Zhong Guo recognized the horse flat Zhong Guoren, Wo Zhude Fangjian Yigu Famei De place, Muqi Ben Mei Fashui called, Qiangdou Famei, happy early 🈶 Liang Yu, sign Maru Yulai."
