I stayed here with two of my teen boys. Absolutely perfect! Location, cleanliness, amenities - if I could give 10 stars, I would! It’s walking distance from Ripley’s Aquarium, Roger’s Centre, CN Tower, Union Station and so much more! The host is great! Very clear instructions on check in and very prompt with communication. Comfortable beds, air conditioning, fresh linen, very clean overall. The neighbourhood is friendly and complete with a lovely restaurant only meters away. I highly recommend staying here and we will be back! :)

This is my starting point in Canada with my son. Originally, I was slightly anxious because of the late flight, and I was instantly melted by kindness after I arrived at the landlord's house. The landlord’s son took the initiative to help communicate and coordinate late at night, and the landlord’s aunt had already cooked a pot of hot soy milk in the house. The room is very clean and the facilities are complete, but the most precious thing is the human touch that flows here. Auntie took care of us like a family: handed over the bus map, introduced the nearby Chinese supermarkets and restaurants, patiently explained the traffic route, even helped us change the change in advance, and even told us about the trivial matter of handling the phone card. The most memorable thing was that morning, my aunt spent half a day with me in the kitchen, slowly boiling a pot of tomato beef sauce. For us who are new to the language, this pot sauce not only fills my son's stomach, but also gives him confidence in the face of unknown life. We will always remember this friendship of our fellow citizens across borders.

An unexpectedly warm stay, highly recommend to anyone visiting Toronto! Choosing ”Maplewood Abode” in downtown Toronto was an excellent decision. The location is superb, within walking distance to the subway and major shopping areas, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and sightseeing. What touched me most was the host. Communication was seamless throughout my stay, truly a case of ”no question left unanswered.” Whether it was advice on transit, restaurant recommendations, or tips on avoiding tourist traps, the host patiently offered tons of practical suggestions. Many were hidden gems only locals would know, saving me a lot of unnecessary detours. The room was decorated very warmly, the bedding was clean and soft, and the surroundings were quiet. I was able to get a sound night's sleep every day, and all my travel fatigue just melted away. Even more delightful, the host enthusiastically shared some homemade food with me! I tried a chicken bun and a pork and radish bun – the wrappers were thin, the filling generous, and the taste was wonderfully authentic home-style cooking. Each bite was full of human kindness. Overall, the experience far exceeded my expectations. It offered both the cleanliness and convenience of a hotel, along with the warmth of visiting a friend's home. I will definitely choose Maplewood Abode again on my next trip to Toronto, and I genuinely recommend it to anyone traveling for leisure or business in this city!

Renovated Rooms 10-min to Finch Subway Near Yonge St

Entry to the accommodation is self-check-in. The room is clean and comfortable. However, the common areas are less so. The bathroom isn't cleaned regularly; there's a lot of hair lying around and the grout is black. The floor is also very slippery, almost dangerous. The kitchen is large but there aren't enough utensils. A colander for draining pasta would have been nice. There are only two chairs for all the rooms. In conclusion, the room is too expensive for what it is, even though it was the cheapest option we found in the city. The room is a 15-minute walk from the metro station entrance and an hour from the city center by metro.

It is nice having a whole apartment but there is no reception desk. The owner thenselves rents out their apartment and as such all concerns or issues go through them. This isn't a problem really as long as everything goes well. In my case it went fine but the only issue is that the shower curtain fell down in the first day and it stayed down because the owner wasn't available to fix at the time. Good location. Plenty to do and see nearby. Everything else is easily reachable on foot, public transit, or taxi.

Comfortable and quiet. Late check-in was no problem with good communication from host. I unfortunately arrived late and left early and didn’t get a chance to speak with anyone! (Oh well maybe next time.) Plenty of on street parking, good residential neighborhood close to York area as indicated. I would stay again. Don’t expect a 5 star experience and you won’t be disappointed. Perfect for my needs.

I read the comments and my heart was half cold, mainly because the price was too cheap. In this area, next to Chinatown, it is best to have a local mobile phone to contact him for convenience. The short message is also the first time to return, and the introduction is also very detailed. The deposit needs to be delivered online, but the refund is quite fast. The air conditioner is also quite quiet, and I will live again next time.

My friend and I had a good experience there. The worker named Liang was very friendly. The room was clean and big enough for us. The layout was odd but it wasn’t a big deal. We got a room with a microwave oven. The location was in a China town. Easy to commute anywhere. I would stay there again.
