"Fantastic ocean views, a quiet environment, and excellent service! Seafarers Getaway boasts the best vantage point in Apollo Bay, with clean and comfortable rooms, plus a kitchen, which is super convenient for those on a self-drive trip. The adorable animals on the property are a bonus, and with the coast and town right outside, it's incredibly convenient for dining, accommodation, and sightseeing. This is a must-stay hotel along the Great Ocean Road, offering amazing value for money and an unbeatable experience. Full marks, highly recommend!"

"We booked a two-bedroom suite, which was actually two separate rooms connected, and having two bathrooms was a definite plus. The location is right in the town center, making it super convenient for dining and shopping. There's an underground parking lot, but the entrance is a bit tricky to find; you'll need to slow down and look carefully as you approach. Check-in was handled by a handsome Chinese guy, which was a nice touch 😋. On the downside, the living room floor was a bit slippery, the lighting in the room was a bit dim, and the bathroom was a little cold at night. The picture is of a nearby burger joint, which was quite good!"

"We stayed one night at the Sandpiper Motel in Apollo Bay during peak season. On the positive side, the room was exceptionally clean, and the embroidered details on the bedding, pillow slips, and face towel were a lovely touch that added a sense of care and thoughtfulness to the decor. However, our stay was not without its issues. Room 5; Throughout the night, there was a persistent high-pitched noise whenever water was used in our block of rooms, which disrupted our sleep, not helpful if you are a light sleeper. This was particularly disappointing given the cost of over 500 NZD for one night. Additionally, while the self-check-in process was efficient, the lack of any staff presence left the motel feeling impersonal and made it impossible to seek assistance when needed. For example, there was no way to address the plumbing issue or request additional items like more face towels during our stay. While we appreciated the cleanliness and the attention to detail in the room design, these other factors made the experience less enjoyable than we had hoped. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests."

"The hygiene was great, and the room was spacious. However, the shower in the bathroom was too small, and the showerhead was very inconvenient to use. Parking was abundant and easy to find, and the little courtyard was lovely. It's very close to the beach, so you can go stargazing after dark. When our check-in was delayed, a quick phone call resolved it easily."

"The hotel is located on a mountain. It's more like a series of individual apartments than a hotel. There's a washing machine (top-loading), but no dryer. There are also basic kitchen utensils. However, I highly recommend eating at their restaurant; the ribeye steak is delicious. All balconies face the sea directly, and you can see the Milky Way after the moon sets. The Large and Small Magellanic Clouds are not to be missed. We also saw wild kangaroos, but we're not sure what subspecies they were. The bedding was clean and tidy. Be careful when showering; the water temperature might be affected by the neighbors using water, but turning it off and on again will restore it. Overall, it's a great place to stay for one night."

"This was one of the best yha we have stayed at. The room was bare but that is to be expected. The amenities, by contrast, were excellent: Two well appointed kichens with nice pans and plenty of space; A roof area and multiple living room areas; an herb garden and plenty of recycling areas; and the games and TV area looked brand new and not old and worn out . The kids enjoyed it and so did we. Highly recommended."

"Stayed one night here during out roadtrip to 12 apostles. Arrived late but managed to self checked in. Easy and convenient. Room was super impressive for the price that we paid. GGuest UserThis was my first time staying at a motel, so I didn't have high expectations. However, it turned out to be like a standalone, single-story villa with two bedrooms and a living room. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the hygiene was excellent. Plus, the beach was just across the road. The motel owners, an elderly couple, were incredibly friendly and even gave us a small gift when we checked in. Overall, a very satisfying beachfront motel stay.

The sofa bed needed to be made up by ourselves, and there was no duvet, only one blanket provided, with another blanket in the closet, which was generally sufficient. There was parking available in the yard. For the second-floor room, luggage had to be carried up an outdoor staircase. My friend stayed in a first-floor room with a queen-sized bed and a 0.9m bed. Their balcony opened directly onto the roadside, which felt a bit unsafe. A common characteristic of motels along the Great Ocean Road is the lack of curtains, with roller blinds used instead, which aren't great for blocking out light. Our room had an induction cooker and pots, but my friend's room didn't. At nearly 1500, it was also the most expensive accommodation on our Great Ocean Road trip.

OoliviachenzwWe are a family of 8, and we rented the entire unit, both downstairs and upstairs, for our stay. The weather was cold during our visit, but the beds were equipped with heaters, which made for a very comfortable night’s sleep. Each floor has its own bathroom and kitchen, which was incredibly convenient for our large group. The bathrooms came with basic toiletries, although there was no toothpaste provided, so be sure to bring your own. The kitchens were well-equipped and functional, with simple seasonings like salt and pepper. We brought our own cooking oil, but everything else was perfect for preparing warm meals for dinner and breakfast. The homestay is located in Marengo. One thing to note is that there are no supermarkets in Marengo itself, but Apollo Bay is just a few minutes' drive away. We recommend stocking up on groceries there before arriving if you plan to cook during your stay. Parking was more than sufficient for our Kia Carnival 8-seater, so we had no trouble with that. The area is wonderfully quiet, making it perfect for a relaxing, peaceful getaway. We had a truly pleasant stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious and comfortable place to stay.

AAnonymous UserThis was a good stopover on our Great Ocean Road trip. The room had a great view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side, with strong winds and rough seas the day we arrived. Apollo Bay has plenty of food options, so you don't need to worry about finding a meal when driving yourself. My only complaint is that I didn't see any hotel staff during our entire stay, so the service was practically non-existent. Also, parking in the courtyard is quite limited.

There are various restaurants around for easy taste of food. Check in is very convenient and will come next time.

SSisixiongApollo Bay is the town where our family stayed the longest on this self-driving Great Ocean Road trip. Our family of five, two adults and three children, stayed in this cabin for three nights in a row. In addition to the beautiful scenery nearby, the most important thing is that it provides bicycles, boats, fishing rods, golf clubs, etc., and you can go to nearby courses. , play at the beach, we have fun every day! The owner Amanda and a friend of hers are taking care of these cabins. They are very nice people and can provide a lot of help to guests. For those of us living in domestic cities, burning wood in the fireplace to keep warm is a very interesting experience!

AAnonymous UserExcellent location for a stop by along the ocean road, 15 minutes drive to Apollo bay, quiet little property located at the foot of mountain and facing the sea, with fantastic ocean view and interesting rock and sand beach The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room of bay view is spacious with a small sitting room and all necessary utensils People just need to bring necessary food and drink to cook for themselves as there is a bit distance from the town center A little advice though: please provide air-conditioner for the accommodations as it’s pretty hot in summer in the room. It’s not comfortable and the guest cannot sleep well in the summer heat
