"Atour is the largest 4-star hotel within Xinzhou Ancient City. It boasts an excellent location, perfect for self-driving travelers, and offers well-maintained and complete facilities. The guest linens are of high quality, and the mattress and pillows are exceptionally comfortable. Both the variety and quality of the breakfast are very good. Suggestions and Comments: 1/ Almost 50% of the hotel rooms are on the ground floor, with windows facing the street. Despite safety warning signs, closing the curtains makes the room too dark, and even with sheer curtains drawn, there's a risk of insecurity and privacy breaches. Would it be possible to apply a 50cm high frosted film from the bottom of the window to remedy this design flaw? It would have been perfect if Venetian blinds were installed between the double-glazed panes, but alas... 2/ Hotel design should prioritize convenience of use > ease of cleaning > aesthetics. If this order is reversed, problems arise. Using white as a base with dark gray lines for murals or artworks is fine, but using it for a tabletop makes it look dirty, always making you want to wipe it down even though it never truly looks clean. The basin faucet handle is also problematic; it feels designed for children and is hard to grip. 3/ The elevator lighting is too dim, and having one wall as a mirror creates a lack of security! Additionally, dim lighting can easily lead to hygiene standards not being met. 4/ The hotel provides guests with a map of the ancient city, but the font is too small. I had to take a photo and zoom in, which then made it blurry. You should try it yourselves. The font size should at least be consistent with that used by Atour hotels in general. 5/ The bacon at breakfast on the first day was so tough it was like chewing on plastic. 6/ The maintenance and cleanliness of the shower room's floor tiles are significantly below the hotel's overall quality, which was quite disappointing. 7/ As the closest 4-star hotel to the 'Dahualiu' (Iron Flower) show in the ancient city, the hotel should be aware of its showtimes, contact information, and cancellation status (performances are stopped in high winds). This information should be provided to guests, perhaps via a notice board in the lobby. I was initially told it started at 8 PM, and then was told to check for cancellations myself via ** (other media). Service needs improvement! An Interlude: On the 17th, while driving out of the underground garage, I had a tire blowout because I had to swerve to avoid two illegally parked electric bicycles. The repair shop initially said that this tire size was hard to find and might take a day. I immediately called the hotel to inform them and indicated that I might need to extend my stay. Afterward, Ms. Shen from the front desk called to express her concern and offered to help contact relevant suppliers if the tire couldn't be found. She also told me to discuss how to resolve the issue with her once I returned to the hotel (by then, the 4S shop had sourced a tire from elsewhere, and I still had plans to visit Foguang Temple and Nanchansi Temple that day). Her call made me feel very warm. Around 7 PM, I returned to the hotel and found the front desk manager, who first told me that the underground parking lot was a public parking lot not managed by the hotel. She then said she had found the person in charge's phone number and told me to contact them myself to resolve the issue. When a guest's property is damaged, the hotel should express sympathy and assist the guest, but I felt she was trying to shirk responsibility. As someone with over 30 years in the hotel industry, from entry-level to executive, I have never allowed myself or my subordinates to give guests the impression of shirking responsibility when dealing with problems. After my insistence, the front desk manager used her phone to contact the parking lot manager for me. On the day of the incident and afterward, I collected multiple pieces of evidence of significant safety hazards in the hotel's underground parking lot. I have since submitted them to Xinzhou 12345, demanding an investigation and accountability for these safety concerns. Atour provides free parking for its guests in a public parking lot, which theoretically involves paying fees to the parking management company. Since Atour is a client of the parking management company, why does Atour not see the problems in the parking lot? Such issues will inevitably impact (and potentially cause losses for) Atour's guests. It's a coincidence that nothing happens, and an inevitability that something will! Safety hazards that I can spot easily, Atour can't?"

"The room was great, spacious, and offered a beautiful night view of the old town. Laundry facilities were convenient and not crowded, though you need to download the Huazhuhui app to use the washer and dryer. Parking wasn't ideal this time; we parked in a small alley behind the hotel. You can also park on the curb in front of the hotel or in a designated mall's underground parking lot, which they'll reimburse. Since we had a small car, the alley worked out."

"This trip was a complete and unexpected delight. My husband and I casually chose Xinzhou Ancient City from the map, not expecting much, because I thought all ancient cities were the same: quaint shops, sparse crowds, and touristy, commercially-run potato towers… However, this time, I truly fell in love with Xinzhou Ancient City. Our first stop was the guesthouse ”Peach Blossom Island. Jianghu.” The owner had sent us detailed directions and a list of times and locations for popular activities in the ancient city beforehand. Upon arrival, the owner and a friendly staff member were already waiting at the door, helping with parking and luggage. The interior was refreshingly decorated, giving off a feeling of ”entering Peach Blossom Island, filled with chivalry and loyalty!” Through the clean windows and tables, we could see the lush greenery of the inner corridor, a welcome respite from our cooped-up lives. A notice on the wall stated: if you are dissatisfied with the cleanliness or service, you can receive a pound of millet as a gift. 😁😁😁 I just want to say the owner is incredibly generous. After collecting our room key, we walked along the quietly flowing, intricately carved stone steps to our room. The ”green trees, red fish, and swimming turtles” along the way filled us with the joy of nature. Even the room names revealed the owner's chivalrous spirit and fondness for martial arts—Kongtong Sect, Huashan Sect, Wudang Sect… Snacks and fruit were already laid out in the room. The room was very clean, and the TV was a projector. We happened to be watching the Asian Cup U23 match that evening, and the projection was very clear; we could comfortably and clearly watch the movie from the bed. After settling in, my husband and I planned to explore the surrounding area. We were wondering where to go when the owner, seemingly noticing our hesitation, proactively came forward and introduced us to the brief history of the ancient city, the must-see spots, cultural and tourist attractions, and routes. With the owner's recommendations and warnings against pitfalls, my husband and I strolled around, enjoying delicious food along the way, and had a wonderful time. 😉 Xinzhou Ancient City is absolutely a perfect recommendation, but I won't elaborate further here. Because the return trip was quite long, I got up at 5 a.m. Before leaving, the owner even insisted on giving me a bag of millet weighing one pound. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (ps: Can I have a ton of this kind of owner?) After leaving, the owner messaged me saying he'd left his slippers at the store. I was thinking of just leaving them, but then I realized I really didn't want them, since I'd worn them for years and had an attachment to them. So I told him to help me send them back and I'd cover the shipping cost. Later, the owner sent the slippers back, but refused to charge for shipping. 🤗🤗🤗 All I want to say is ”Peach Blossom Island. Jianghu,” see you again in the Jianghu! 🥰🥰🥰"

This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. Our guests consider this hotel to have excellent service. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.

"One of the best hotel we had in 3 weeks in china, surely one of the highest in terms of price/quality ratio. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is a dream, where you can choose the fresh pasta you like and they will prepare it straight for you (even buckwheat!). The position is just 1,4km outside the ancient city in the direction of the high-speed railway station, so it is very convenient. Rooms will be cleaned daily, you also have a laundry close to the reception and a small gym. I would love to stay here again! (The only negative point for me is that smoking is still permitted inside, but this is quite common in China)"

Dongchengli Homestay (Zhangzhou Ancient City Branch)

It's worth the money to stay in Dongchengli! Superb! It's clean and just walking distance to the restaurants and tea houses. The staffs are polite, very attentive and helpful. If you're into modern / smart technologies (smart curtain, tv, shower and lightings), yet you want to mix it with traditional Chinese style of inns or villa, then it's the place to stay. I guess it's too modern for me haha, I can feel the energy pressure of staying in a smart room, I get lots of static electricity, not sure if it's because I meditate too. I have an electric/magnetic field meter with me, I was so busy that I forgot to measure the room's field. As in, few fallen hair won't fall off my jacket. Thus, I stay most of the time, outside the room. They have a nice swing and a tea area with free biscuits & tea. I didn't get the chance to play with their full tea set. They have a lovely cute parrot and 2 cats! They provide free disposable toothbrush & toothpaste, hairbrush, slippers and yes, I found disposable towels too, not sure what kind of towel - I didn't open it yet, might try it in airport shower.

This place has its own dedicated parking, conveniently located right behind Xinzhou Ancient City, making it super easy to get around. Charging and fueling your car is a breeze. You can bring back anything you buy in the ancient city and enjoy it at your leisure in your room. The private hot spring in the courtyard was a great experience – perfect for soaking while munching on snacks and sipping tea. It even has a retractable roof with lights, so you can enjoy it at night too. The service was top-notch; they provided a pet gift package and a welcome gift, which our dog loved! The staff were incredibly responsive, charming, and generous. We'll definitely be back!

For our Spring Festival holiday trip to Wutai Mountain, we booked the Huazhu Duicui Pavilion B&B in advance through Ctrip, specifically for its value for money, and it certainly didn't disappoint. On the evening of the second day of the ***** New Year, we drove up the mountain from the North Gate and arrived at the B&B smoothly. The location was excellent, just a short distance from the roadside, quiet yet convenient, with easy parking and charging stations nearby. The B&B was spacious and warm from the moment we entered. The lobby and common areas were grand, like a luxury hotel. Check-in was smooth, and the staff helped us with our luggage upstairs to our room – excellent service. The room was spacious and bright, with two 1.35-meter beds, enough for a family. The underfloor heating was excellent, the decor was tasteful, the bedding was new, clean, and the facilities were complete – everything was perfect. Breakfast, though simple, was hot and filling. When we needed to get to the attractions, the B&B thoughtfully arranged transportation to the nearby bus stop, which was very thoughtful and truly five-star service. The overall environment of the B&B was very nice, and the cats were adorable, which my child loved to play with. Overall, the Duicui Pavilion B&B in Wutaishan offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended.

The boss is very good, stayed for about 20 days. The first time I lived in the room downstairs, I changed to the room upstairs when I lived. Especially warm, the boss is very good. My brother's feet were broken, but when I returned to Beijing, I was broken. Thanks to the boss's reminder, I must go to the hospital to check it. During the stay, the temples in the core scenic area of Wutai Mountain were almost all worshipped. When returning to the room, the boss will make up the water. It is very convenient to go to the core scenic area from the homestay. If there are Tibetans staying, it will be particularly lively.

This is our first time visiting Wutaishan and we stayed here for 5 nights. We came here by a direct bus from Beijing and the hotel picked us from the bus terminal in Wutaishan. The hotel driver was helpful and polite. We were greeted by 2 pleasant front desk ladies upon check in. We received a beads bracket gift and welcome fruit plate . During the first day we had an issue with the air conditioning unit in our room and they changed our room the very next day. The hotel is located just off a busy street with lots of restaurants and shops. There is also a shuttle bus stop just around the corner. There are many famous temples here all within walking distance from the hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel and the food is delicious and we had a meal served in our room. The lady boss (who we didn’t meet) provided us with information for our trip planning and helped us to book a land tour of the 5 mountains. Lastly we would like to compliment the 2 front desk staff, the 2 cleaning staff and the driver for their enthusiastic attitude and service. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

Ot's a small boutique hotel . The room was large and new looking. It had a small living room with comfortable chairs. The bathroom is average size with good hot shower. The location is very good with easy access to restaurants and grocery shops. Be aware that everything concerned with food is just that little bit more expensive than other cities in China. But I guess the cost of hauling everything up to wu tai shan is costly. The hotel is also close to the central bus station. The manger Tong Tian Tian was most helpful. She came to pick us up from the bus station, helped us to book a day tour of the 5 mountain temples. ( which had to be cancelled halfway due to a snowstorm on the mountain tops, where the main temples were. She then helped us to get our partial redunds. And then helped us to book bus tickets for onward travel to Datong. She was really helpful. On our first day she dropped us off at a temple nearly 20 mins away. So top marks for her customer service The hotel is a little short on the normal facilities like gym , small room fridge in the room, a restaurant ( so no breakfast ) We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel

Check-in was smooth and convenient. Our room faced the cultural tourism town, so we could enjoy the animation show for free in the evenings. Breakfast offered a good variety. There's also a Chinese restaurant for dinner; it's not managed by the hotel but the food is quite good. We didn't try the buffet, but the dining options close at 2 PM, which feels a bit too early. So, dining was a minor drawback. However, the environment is truly beautiful, surrounded by pine trees, green grass, and flowers. The tranquility is especially appealing for city dwellers. This will be my top choice for accommodation on my next trip to Wutai Mountain.

I previously spent a few days at another hotel that was too far away from all the temples. So I decided to book a few days at this hotel and I'm really happy that I did! A lot of things are within walking distance, and the main temple cluster is only two or three stops away on the free shuttle bus service (No 8) Within walking distance: - Restaurants - Convenience Store - Fruit shops - ATM machines - Puhua Temple (peaceful and free lunch and dinner) - Small lake and park - Nanshan Temple (really peaceful) Two/three stops away by bus: - Main temple cluster Room is spacious and the bins were changed daily. The staff were really helpful and accommodating even though I couldn't speak Chinese. They were really friendly and warm, and never hesistated to answer any of my queries. Highly recommend this hotel!
