"They charged me $190 without explanations. When I checked out they said $50 deposit will be refunded, but still charged me $140 for the room. At the time of booking with Trip was $137 tax and service included. They did not even give me bottle water in the room. Only keurig coffee machine and water in there was dirty. I told them I only need hot water to make some tea, they told me to go to the gym but the hot water was not even working there, so I had to buy a cup of hot water for $1 + tax and a bottle water which the price was as high as airport price. The only thing beneficial to me was airport shuttle every 30 min and run 24 hrs daily."

"I was searching for a hotel near Newark Airport for a layover, specifically one that allowed guests aged 18 and over and provided a free shuttle service. While it was a bit pricey, including rates and breakfast for two, I chose this hotel, considering the extra cost a worthwhile investment for the peace of mind it offered. Many hotels require guests to be 21 or older to check in, but this one permitted 18+ (even for solo travelers). The free shuttle between the airport and the hotel is scheduled to run every 20 minutes. However, the shuttle from the airport to the hotel was quite delayed, and I waited for about an hour. Upon arrival, check-in was smooth. My room was spacious and clean, with amenities that were more than sufficient to help me relax and unwind; it was truly a lovely space. Breakfast was a standard American spread, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport was crowded, so I booked a taxi instead. This hotel was so excellent that I almost regretted my stay was so brief."

"overall the hotel was not bad it smelled amazing as soon as you walked in…the room was beautiful only thing i didn’t like was this big white thing inside the room which was kind of weird.Bathroom was beautiful but my toilet seat was really loose.There was a centipede in my room that totally freaked me out…a couple hairs in my bed and in the shower.Breakfast says it starts at 6:30am i went up to the 9th floor exactly at 6:30am and the lady who made the breakfast said it didn’t start till 7am.So i waited came back and ate and the food was horrible literally the sausage was dry and the potatoes were not fully cooked.I give this hotel a 3.8 review just minor changes that’ll make it a full 5 star.The picture i attached is of the centipede that freaked me out."

"It is surrounded by highways, so it is extremely difficult to get there by car. The shuttle vans from the airport are black and white, making them difficult to distinguish."

"I stayed at TRYP by Wyndham Newark Downtown on a Tuesday night and overall had a good experience. The hotel is in a very convenient location, an easy walking distance to Newark Penn Station, which makes getting around extremely convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, and the property feels well-maintained. My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower, which was noticeably weak. Everything else worked well, but stronger water pressure would make the stay much better. Overall, a solid choice for a short stay in Newark, especially if you need quick access to Penn Station."

"Needed to go to Prudential Center for a concert and decided that it is within walking distance. Check in was terrible. The front lady forgot about me after telling me to wait for 10 mins for my room. I requested for a room near the elevator as I hate walking down a long corridor, BUT she gave me the furthest room, next to the Exit stairs. Sigh….. Bed was comfortable. Rest of the room was ok but hot water took too long to heat up and the water pressure was pathetic. Elevator was slow and we had to wait a long time for the 2 elevators. Then in the evening one elevator broke down. The wait was excruciating long! At 1.30 am I got woken up by bratty kids stomping on my Neighbour’s door. And the nightmare began when the Neighbour from Hell decided to have a party in their room. I called the reception 3 times and they promised that they would send a security guard to ask them to quieten down. But the moment I hang up, I could hear their phone ring! No one came up and the noise continued. After the third call, someone finally came up and the party finally went away. I had to tolerate 3 hours of noise. The day before I was told that the airport shuttle would leave on the hour, every hour. So I came down at 7.45 am only to be told that it is half past every hour. So I had to wait for 45 mins in the lobby. At the lobby there were stragglers sleeping in the lobby. Overall I won’t come back to this hotel."
