📍 Yamanakaonsen Higashimachi, 2 Chomehe−1, Kaga

"We really loved our stay here. The staff were very helpful, the facilities were clean and well appointed. The room was large, clean and well maintained with traditional styling. The view of the river and forest was tranquil and the onsen was big and very clean with at least 2-3 hot pools, a cold plunge bath and sauna. The view from the onsen is also really beautiful. The food was also really incredible. Overall the place has a very tranquil and calming vibe. We spent four nights here but wish we could have stayed longer."

📍 2-chōme-121-3 Yamashiroonsen Kikyōgaoka, Kaga

"There are public hot springs with separate baths for men and women. There are also open-air baths that can be used privately and can be used for free for 50 minutes, which is very good. There are four tatami mats in one room. Our family of four slept on the tatami mats together. It was very happy and warm."

"I am very satisfied with Jixiang's service and the environment is good. However, you need to call in advance to check the time of the shuttle bus from Kaga Station to the hotel. It is usually half an hour after the express bus."

📍 Yamashiro-onsen Onsen-dori 17, Kaga

"This is a traditional Japanese hotel with an excellent location and good service. The public bath is open 24 hours, and the rooms are large and comfortable, though the facilities are a bit dated. Overall, it offers great value for money. The WiFi doesn't reach all rooms, and there's no signal at all on the fourth floor, which needs improvement."

Hoshino Resorts Kai Kaga

"KAI Kaga inherited hundreds of years of hot spring inns and used new modern models to attract tourists in the hope of driving crowds to the hot springs in nearby districts. However, it turns out that the surrounding area is very deserted. Except for KAI Kaga, which is fully booked on weekends, there are almost no crowds. The surrounding shops are either closed or on the way to closing, and the nearby shrines specially marked as tourist attractions are also deserted. The hotel itself, the rooms, the hot springs, the facilities and the food are all average, but it is really not worth the price (it may also be that there are more people on weekends and the price is higher). The high unit price will easily make people look at the small details through a magnifying glass, and they will find that many small areas need to be strengthened. Another drawback is that there is no shuttle service from the station to the hotel (other lower-priced hotels nearby offer that). If you don't happen to pass by and want to take a hot spring bath, it is not recommended to come here specifically. In the end, I didn't give a bad review because the service staff were relatively young and had a good attitude. Xingye has its own set of training for its employees."

"Almost everything was in tip top condition including our requests for a vegetarian dunner and breakfast for one of our friends. Perhaps a hostess more fluent in english would have been helpful but anyway she was most gracious, attentive and courteous. The amenities, food and service were really great!"

"The room size, cleanliness, breakfast (didn't add dinner as I don't like seafood), and all the staff were great. The surroundings were also peaceful, making for a very pleasant stay. The only thing is that it's about a 20-minute drive from the station, and the shuttle only runs around check-in/out times. So if you arrive early, there's not much to do around the station. We ended up taking a taxi in (4500 yen 🥹, since there's plenty to see and it's nice for a walk around the onsen area). Anyway, it was a good stay. I'd love to come back in a different season!"

"Kaga is so unpopular that the information on the Chinese website is very incomplete. I placed the order with trepidation. At that time, it was one of the few hotels with rooms available and a price per person. The hotel room pictures and information on Ctrip's page were actually very confusing, and the hotel's official website could not be opened in China. As a result, when I arrived in Kaga, I chatted with the owner of the cafe in the hot spring town. The owner said that this was definitely the right place to book and you will have a perfect day. Indeed! First of all, the room is at least 100 square meters, which is more spacious than many hotels with thousands of square meters per capita, and here it only costs 1000+ per capita Secondly, the hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the Yamashiro Onsen Souyu, and you can make an appointment in advance to pick up the station (free, Ctrip only writes that it is wrong to send the station). If you walk there by yourself, turn at Ye Duli and climb a small slope. There are signs along the way Thirdly, the hotel service attitude is really good. The staff will wait for the corresponding guests at about the same time, and then accompany them all the way to the room. The hotel map is a little complicated, and the explanation is very clear. It will mark the restaurant, breakfast and dinner reservation time, and the time of sending the station, etc. The female general of Kaiseki will also try hard to introduce the ingredients of each dish to you in English. Even though it is mainly domestic tourists, I didn’t feel the discrimination or indifference to foreigners in some places Finally, the hotel is in the forest, which is really a great environment. There is a corridor for walking, two hot springs, and you can sunbathe in the forest. The free rest area is at the entrance of the four-season corridor. Coffee and drinks are self-service. You can also sit in the hanging basket and stare at the forest waterfall (there may be more insects in summer, so be careful)"

"This Japanese-style hot spring hotel has complete facilities and the lobby is decorated in a very luxurious style. We arrived early and enjoyed the free afternoon tea and foot bath first. When we checked in at 3 o'clock, a waiter in kimono guided us to the door of the room, which was very considerate. After taking a bath, we had dinner on the 2nd floor of the hotel as scheduled. Dinner is a standard Kaiseki cuisine, which is very sumptuous. Each family has its own private dining space and is equipped with a dedicated person to serve throughout the meal. At 9 o'clock in the evening, the hotel arranged a local Taiko performance in Kaga for the guests, which was very unique. The whole experience was very satisfying."

"I am traveling by car this time (staying at hotels in Kanazawa, Tojinbo, and Tsuruga), and I don't have any idea about transportation (the hotel has a special car to pick up from Kaga Station). Wendian is very well maintained. It is a Japanese national tourist hot spring franchise hotel. The hot spring water is good and authentic. There is a public bath (hot spring water) and three private baths. You need to pay at night (it is free if you make an appointment in the morning). I am very satisfied with the breakfast and dinner. I chose the largest room (with a large side hall), with a welcome drink, unlimited tea, popsicles after bathing, and unlimited coffee in the morning. The most important thing is that the price is not expensive. When you leave, the reception staff will bow and wave goodbye. It is a traditional Japanese hotel and a great choice for a Japanese tourist resort hotel."

"The large public bath was open from 6:00 in the morning, and there were no problems with calling and paying for a taxi to the airport. If I had to say one thing, I felt that it was still a rural area because only 1000 yen notes were accepted when buying drinks from the vending machine."
