"Stayed in the hotel for two nights. Overall it was good. There is a beach just outside the door. It is worth mentioning that the beach is very beautiful. The only disappointment is that there is no spa and brunch. It would have been perfect."

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa ★★★★★

📍 1571 Poipu Rd, Poipu

"I felt like the hotel rooms were very tired at best. The bedding was very tired and the rooms seemed very old. Our service at the pool was great. A little disappointed there was nothing to celebrate the 4th of July. I would rather find a less expensive hotel to stay in for the money and get a daytime resort pass as we heard several people around us did to enjoy the pools and resort. We will not stay at this Hyatt again. "

"It's a pity we didn't book a larger room. The facilities were complete and clean, and the service was very nice and responsive. This hotel is perfect for family vacations with children, and the pool is fantastic! The Holoholo restaurant in the hotel is delicious, and the shopping mall next door is very convenient for shopping and dining. Poipu Beach is also very close."

📍 Tax ID # TA, 2249 Poipu Road, 070 692-2496-01, Poipu

"Lovely and well manicured resort that is perfect for families...it has it all. Fun pools for kids, big plush lawns, excellent beach (swim-able, Hawaiian monk seals, turtles ), and great gym. Rooms are good size. We had 2bd/2bath with a full size kitchen, inside dinning table, and out-side dinning on our balcony. View was of manicured garden, ponds, and waterfall. Numerous out-door barbecues available, no waiting. Beach-side restaurant/bar was good. Food was reasonable and drinks were resort rates. Grand kids gave it a big thumbs-up! Staff was helpful."

Koa Kea Resort on Poipu Beach

Koa Kea Resort on Poipu Beach ★★★★★

📍 2251 Poipu Rd, Poipu

"Beautiful location close to the beach. First room we were shown was extremely dark so we asked to change to a different one that didn't require to have the lights on during the day. Restaurant was decent, bed was comfortable. The one time we wanted to spend some time by the pool there weren't any chairs left, so would advise to go early to secure a spot."

The Lodge at Kukui'Ula Hotels in Koloa

The Lodge at Kukui'Ula

"Picky, Picky: As an architect who has worked on luxury hotels and high-end homes, I am more critical than most guests. I must admit the folks who did the Lodge at Kukui’ula (Alexander & Brown and DMB Development) did a very, very good job. Lush Surroundings: The siting of the lodge is excellent, with beautiful sunset views over a terraced lawn and an axial view of the dramatic Spouting Horn blowhole. The pool and surrounding area are well designed to provide play areas for families and secluded areas for a couples. The grounds are lush with beautiful and surprisingly mature trees. The units are arranged to afford much privacy. The architecture respects the aesthetic of historic local plantations without devolving into caricature. Impressive Quality: Perhaps most impressive is the quality of the accommodations themselves. Typically, “luxurious” accommodations sadly reveal dozens of cheap short cuts that may escape some eyes, but not those of professionals. Not so at this property. All the materials, furnishings, appliances, fixtures, and fittings are very high quality. The bathrooms are fabulous, with excellent bathtubs and nice showers, including an outdoor "garden" shower. Very impressive! Unimpressive Breakfasts: Continental breakfast at the clubhouse is included, but it’s a bit on the meager side (not even any fruit juice). No Recycling: We dutifully segregated our recyclables, only to discover a notice at the dumpster informing guests that the Lodge at Kukui’ula has no recycling program and guests should take their trash to a recycling center a couple miles away. Huh? Unbelievable. Noisy Equipment: Some may argue that one should know that sleeping adjacent to a golf course means being awakened at 6:30 AM by groundskeepers; however, these days there are quiet, electric alternatives. Unfortunately, they are not used here. Guest Services: These folks were very attentive. Kyle made sure we were booked into a more secluded unit. Caleb received us graciously and followed up. Nyleen gets a shout out as she was very helpful throughout our stay."

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa ★★★★★
"Beautiful Grounds and Great Staff, but Far Below Expected Standards for the Price We visited the Grand Hyatt Kauai with high expectations, given its reputation, beautiful location, and the premium price tag (often $800+ per night plus resort fees). To be fair, the staff throughout the property is truly lovely and very friendly—their warmth and hospitality were a clear positive during our stay. The tropical setting and expansive pool landscape are also undeniably stunning. However, the overall experience, cleanliness, and service efficiency were unacceptable for a resort in this price category. During our stay, we encountered issues: Long Wait Times: Expecting guests who pay nearly $1,000 a night to stand in long lines every morning at 9:00 AM just to get a breakfast table is completely unacceptable. Dining & Hygiene: Wet plates and glasses with heavy limescale buildup, showing a clear lack of quality control in the food and beverage department. Pool & Public Areas: Sun loungers were frequently covered in bird droppings, and tables around the pool were left uncleaned. Garbage from other guests sat in the hallways, and the guest laundry facilities were in a deplorable state (malodorous washing machines and discarded clothing left lying around). Hallways & Maintenance: The carpets in the corridors are visibly stained and worn out. We even noticed exposed electrical sockets in public areas, which is a clear safety concern. Room Condition: Our room showed some signs of a maintenance backlog. The shower was covered in limescale, and the toilet had an unpleasant odor throughout our stay. Despite the wonderful employees, we felt like we paid luxury prices for budget-level maintenance, poor upkeep, and crowd management issues. Until a proper renovation and stricter quality controls take place, we cannot recommend this hotel at its current price point."

Hilton Vacation Club the Point at Poipu Kauai ★★★★
"I booked a two-bedroom, two-bathroom room. The room was very big. The bed in the master bedroom was very big, and the other room had two single beds. One bathroom was very big. The kitchen was fully equipped. There was not much to eat near the hotel, so it was good to stay here, suitable for families who want to cook. There was only one supermarket, Big Save, nearby. But I had to ask not to stay on the first floor when I checked in. At first, I was given a first floor. Because the sound insulation in the room was too poor, I could hear the footsteps on the second floor very clearly. I didn't sleep well all night. I moved to the third floor, the highest floor. The swimming pool was not bad, and you can walk directly to the beach from there."

Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club ★★★★
"My crew & I recently spent a week at this vacation club. We really enjoyed the time and found everyone at the hotel team to be helpful and quick. As 4 adults, we found the place spacious , well equipped kitchen and loved the balcony. The grounds, garden and pools were really nice and well kept. A couple of times we texted for trash pick up and towel refreshes and the team was there in 10 minutes or less. Jose was super helpful. The hotel beach was nice, we rented an umbrella one day to get some shade. Poipu beach is just a short walk away and there were sea turtles! Lei making class was a fun activity to kick off the vacation. I would say good choices were pretty limited at the hotel and we went out or cooked in the room for most meals. I would recommend this location to others seeking a great place to stay in Kauai."

Kauai Regency at Poipu Kai by Coldwell Banker Island Rentals ★★★
"Fantastic property - super clean, well maintained, three pools to choose from, 10min walk to Poipu Beach. Unit 811 even has a closet full of beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, boogie board, all-terrain folding wagon and more. Absolutely phenomenal value for the price. The AC is also STRONG which is very much appreciated in humid summers."
