Alan at the front desk was very nice and helpful, recommending restaurants and more. Also, the medical room has a 25 yuan per bag medication that's supposedly a miracle cure for altitude sickness."

Cons: The hotel is a renovated old building, so parking was a hassle. The window faced another building, which was under renovation, so there was no view whatsoever, and we had to keep the curtains closed at all times. Although the room was large, it felt quite empty and somewhat useless."

The airport pickup service was punctual and attentive. The driver was calm and professional, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey. Throughout our trip, the hotel arranged a dedicated driver to take us to Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace. The routes were well-planned, the driving was steady, and he waited patiently, allowing us to easily visit these sacred sites without any worries. I must give special praise to our butler, Zhixi. His service was incredibly meticulous and he anticipated our every need. From guiding us during check-in and offering itinerary suggestions to providing tips for high altitude, he followed up attentively throughout, always responsive to our requests. He handled every small detail with such care and thoughtfulness, making us feel completely at ease. The dining experience at the restaurant was excellent. The dishes were varied, delicious, and of high quality. A special thanks to Dekyi Wangmo for her exceptional care. Her service was warm and attentive; she proactively anticipated our needs, from taking orders to refilling tea and providing thoughtful details. The dining atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, and we enjoyed every meal thoroughly. This was especially helpful for us who experienced some altitude sickness. Standard hotel services were also top-notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were humble, courteous, and responded quickly. Whether it was helping with facilities, addressing requests, or providing temporary assistance, they were efficient and warm, truly making us feel at home. From airport transfers and butler service to restaurant care, the Shangri-La Hotel's exceptional dedication protected our entire journey, making our high-altitude trip warm and smooth."

"I stayed here for two days, and their service and facilities didn't match the price. Oxygen wasn't available constantly; it was only available during certain times. Does this mean people with oxygen deficiency experience intermittent oxygen deprivation? The toothbrushes were terrible, worse than those in budget hotels, shedding a lot of bristles. They didn't even provide a razor. It's really worse than a hotel costing several hundred yuan. Most importantly, if my plans changed, I couldn't change my check-in date, not even two days in advance. Even delaying the check-in by one day wasn't allowed. Contacting Ctrip was useless. I've never seen such an arrogant hotel; the service didn't match its price. The breakfast was also bad; there wasn't much good food. The tsampa provided by the hotel wasn't even as good as a 15-yuan serving outside. Think twice before staying here."

"The room was clean and the environment was beautiful, with a super large terrace offering views of the Potala Palace. There were healing and blessing rituals every morning and evening. The room had both nasal cannula and diffused oxygen. The butler service was attentive; my butler even took extra care of me since I was traveling alone. I tried both breakfast and lunch, and they were delicious. There was also afternoon tea and a spa. I really wanted to try the whiskey here, but I was worried about altitude sickness, so I didn't dare. Overall, the experience was excellent. Highly recommend!"

"We stayed in guesthouses within the scenic area of Nyingchi, and finally in Lhasa we could stay in a hotel! We booked four nights, and there was a discount with Lhasa consumption vouchers when we booked. The location was very convenient; we could walk to the Potala Palace, and it was also close to the Tibet Museum, Norbulingka, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. There were also shopping streets nearby, making dining very convenient. The hotel breakfast was quite plentiful (compared to the guesthouses we stayed in before). The snake tongues were relatively new. Although the alms offerings were only served at 8 pm, it doesn't get dark here until 8:30 pm, and we usually didn't get back until after 9 pm, so we were always within the alms offering hours while at the hotel. We slept very peacefully at night and experienced almost no altitude sickness. Thanks to the staff member Jiayi for her attentive service."

"Our late-night flight landed at Lhasa airport, and we didn't get to the hotel until after midnight. The parking lot was very small, and on holidays, if it's full, you have to leave your keys. What was really frustrating was that they didn't give you any receipt or proof when you handed over your keys, nor did they even tag the car key with the room number. I have no idea how they manage that. What if something valuable goes missing from the car? The hotel really needs to think about improving in this area. After finally managing to check in, the room key didn't even work because it hadn't been activated. So, I had to go back downstairs with all my heavy luggage to sort it out. If I wasn't so used to coming to Tibet and didn't suffer from altitude sickness, this experience would have really soured my impression of the place. No matter how many freebies they offered at checkout, it wouldn't make up for that terrible first impression. The breakfast was just so-so. The only 'pro' was its advertised proximity to Barkhor Street, but honestly, it's not great value for money. If my friends weren't staying here and I needed to be close to them, I definitely wouldn't choose this hotel."
