Madrid Chamartin Hotels

I stayed at Hotel Chamartin The One in Madrid primarily for its proximity to the train station, as I had an early train to catch. It's right next to Chamartín train station. The entrance looked quite simple, almost like it was under renovation, but once inside, it was perfectly fine. The breakfast spread was quite generous, though the room itself was on the smaller side.

Located close to the metro so it was easy to explore. Plenty of shared bathrooms which was good too. The room was basic, decor made it look fresh but was quite dirty, there was very weak AC so got warm quickly if moving around in room, tried to connect to the WiFi but the router displayed on the poster in room didn't exist so used up all my data hot spotting my laptop.

Brand new and beautifully decorated/equipped mini apartment. Check-in was super easy. The sofa bed is comfortable; I don't understand the negative reviews about it. Parking, a bus stop, and a metro station are all within 200 meters. If you take the bus, you can reach Cibeles in less than 20 minutes. Highly recommended!

Wonderful hotel! Service was excellent. Bedding was amazing. The unique designs of each floor was interesting and quirky. The only downside is that some of the designs can affect functionality for example the bathtub took a long time to fill up.

The hotel is not far from the metro station, very accessible to go anyway. It's not in the city centre, but as mentioned very accessible. Breakfast is amazing, it has everything you could imagine, and also has special food that is kid friendly. The rooms are spacious, have water, tea, and coffee provided in the room. Really lovely stay.

Convenient location close to Colombia metro station and a short metro journey to the airport. The staff were pleasant enough. The room was compact but quiet because of the double layered windows. There were patio doors onto the balcony. A lot of the rooms have balconies. There are many shops, cafes and restaurants etc nearby. The room smelled badly of dirty toilet. It looked mostly clean apart from some used tissue on the bathroom floor. There was no opportunity to buy breakfast. Overall it was a good stay and reasonably priced for the area. I would recommend.

Advantages: The room was spacious enough with two large windows that could be opened, offering a view of the courtyard. One double bed and one single bed were cleaned daily. There was a two-story supermarket a minute's walk away, and parking spaces in the back alley were available (paid during the day, free at night), so there was no need to park in the hotel's paid underground parking lot. The breakfast was quite substantial, and à la carte options were also available. Disadvantages were also significant. To conserve water, the hotel didn't proactively provide aquarium stoppers. On the day I checked in, I had blisters on my feet. I asked a staff member for a foot soak, but they didn't speak English and gave me a stopper that didn't fit my aquarium. I limped back to the front desk, only to be told that he was the only one there and everyone else had gone home. They told me to come back the next day, but I insisted. They eventually brought me a stopper, but that wasn't all. Later, I noticed the hot water in my room was very cold. I endured it all night, and when I went to the front desk the next day, they weren't surprised at all. Then, on the day we checked out, I told them I was staying for four nights, and the water temperature in my room was noticeably warmer that night. I think this was part of a water-saving measure. Secondly, I specified my preferences on the platform when booking: I wanted two single beds and one sofa bed. I arrived early in the morning, but couldn't check in. I emphasized this again, requesting afternoon check-in. Again, I only got one double bed; the sofa bed wasn't made. I had to go downstairs to find one, making several trips back and forth. The mattress was thick, but extremely soft. It was higher at both ends and lower in the middle, and the sofa bed was even softer, making it tiring to sleep on. The room's soundproofing was poor; you could hear people walking around outside clearly. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, but the lights couldn't be controlled individually. At night, both lights had to be on, which was very bright and directly facing the bed, affecting rest. There were two types of chocolate powder for breakfast. My child asked me about the difference, so I asked the staff. They replied that one was local and the other American, with slight differences in taste. They said I was satisfied. We turned around, and two female staff members were laughing loudly behind us, chattering unintelligible words. Perhaps they weren't mocking us, but it was very unprofessional. In conclusion, the price was quite good. However, this doesn't mean a 4-star rating guarantees this level of service. Our trips to any scenic spot were at least 50 minutes, and the service was just average. There was only one female receptionist, who was very helpful and responsive, with brown hair. She was on duty on the evening of the 18th and helped me check the timetable. When we returned on the 19th, she even asked if we had gone; she was very kind. I'm sorry I didn't remember her name.

The hotel is located near a subway station, less than a 5-minute walk away, so transportation is fairly convenient. It's not too close to the city center, but it's relatively quiet. The rooms are spacious, and the hotel provides disposable toiletries. There are also tableware and kitchenware in the rooms for cooking. The bathroom has a bidet, a common Italian appliance. Some of the floor tiles are loose and may need repair.

I came here because the reviews were good, and they definitely lived up to the hype. I hope the owners keep up the great work!

The hotel's cleanliness and breakfast were good, but its location is very far from the city center and tourist attractions. If you're staying longer, this hotel is a good choice because bus route 150 is right outside the hotel and goes directly to Puerta del Sol. However, if you're only staying 1-2 days, it's better to stay closer to the tourist areas. Taxis in Madrid are very expensive; a taxi from the hotel to the city center cost over 30 euros.
