Outstanding
YyeoGreat stay at a Japanese bed and breakfast style accomodation. Owners are an elderly Japanese couple who speaks average English but we get by. Free transport to and fro ski slopes even though they are a 1.2 km walk away from Akakura Onsen main street. Owner was also kind enough to drive us to the train station for our rest day from snowboard. Breakfast was great! Room had attached toilets and were super clean. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Will stay here again next time I come to Myoko Kogen
TTaesunIt's in a great location for skiing, the rooms are spacious, and the food is plentiful and delicious.
However, it is a bit disappointing that meal time is limited.
LLauraJaneLucassVERY large and spacious room (twin room) for Japan! Approximately a 10minute walk to akakura kanko resort and 15 to akakura onsen. The toilets were clean and ample for shared toilets and the showers were warm and good pressure - although the shower hose on the wall wouldn’t sit comfortably so it was a hand held shower.
Breakfast was ok, however if I was paying for it I would have been so disappointed ! Very minimal.
Having read previous reviews I was expecting amazing service however the service received was quite average. We were originally meant to get there at 8:30pm by train, at 8pm I called and told them we will now get there at 10pm. They said ok see you tomorrow morning, breakfast at 7:30. I asked how we were to get to the place and they said taxi (mind you myoko Kogen train station is a ghost town). They then said breakfast at 7:30 see you then. I asked what room were in, how we get in etc and there was a huge language barrier (just kept responding with see you tomorrow) . The person ended up coming to the station (to our surprise) then said they had been waiting there for 2 hours despite us having called at 8pm and spoken to them specifically. A lot of confusion.
They did drop each guest off at the resort of their choice each morning as well as to the train or bus station at the end of their stay, this was a nice touch which is common and needed for myoko.
EEdPWProperty is set in a very quiet and peaceful environment. Very clean and modern. Well maintained after its renovation. There are plenty of free parking space.
Room is big but unfortunately without shower/bath - a big negative for the property. There are two common showers for the whole hotel which must be busy during peak seasons. I recommend the hotel especially during off peak season when you can use the public showers. Otherwise you have to use the bathing facilities in the onsen.
GGuest UserTabataya is a 100+ years family run rest house for skiing/snowboarding at myoko suginohara! The host only speaks Japanese but they are very warm and helpful nonetheless. Ski passes can be bought from them at a discount. I brought my own snowboard so I dont know about rentals. We used yamato transport to courier the boards to and fro the airport and tabataya. The host helped us with arranging the return courier to airport 😊. Although it was slightly pricey but there was value for what we paid. Meals are available at a fixed price of about 3500yen and the chef decides the menu! Although the bathrooms are shared, they are very very clean. Lastly, it is worth noting that the nearby Asakusa onsen ski resort will have more food options and night skiing compared to suginohara. It's my first time experiencing Japow and im glad Myoko is part of this experience 😊 (one of the longest and widest beginner runs)
GGuest UserMont Cervin is a cosy and friendly lodge run by a lovely couple, Shung and Takako. It was a privilege to get to stay here again after first stay 7 years ago. We appreciated the fact that we are dropped off and picked up at the nearby ski areas, and we enjoyed Takako’s home cooking more than the food joints in the Akakura onsen town area. The room is cosy and the heater makes it warm. Lovely memories!
JJasmineHad a great stay here! Very friendly owners. The private baths were an amazing way to relax after hiking all day. The house was so cute and the room was nice and comfy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
GGuest UserThe location is really remote, even driving feels far away, there will be an avalanche and ice on the road in winter, be very careful, fortunately, it is the first in Yan Hot Spring District, and then the ground is full of moss, the car will slip, you can borrow rain shoes from the hotel to go up, There is a real sense of the end of the world here.
Because the part of the female soup is being renovated, you can take a bottle of drink from the beverage cabinet every day, but the bath time is taken turns with the male soup, and you can't take a bath after midnight. It is not recommended to take a bath the next morning. The homestay has a laundry service, which can be given to the owner of the homestay when you go out in the morning, and will be washed and placed in the room at night. Yujamas are provided. Many ancient skiing equipment is also displayed in the homestay.
In addition to some renovated hardware and software facilities, the owner of the hotel is very kind. At night, he also helped us put hot water bags in the quilt. There are many small snacks in the room. When we leave, we even took various snacks as a souvenir for us. We really feel at home.
LLTTYDinner buffet I am full of expectations, don't have too much expectations, the location is not good, you can travel by car, there is no store nearby, and it is difficult to recognize the road in heavy snow. The best thing is that the network is very poor, 4G has 1 grid, the Internet is difficult, WIFI is as weak, and the line is often disconnected. You can feel the air of nature wholeheartedly, the hot springs are good for hygiene, and the bath products used are also very good. There is a ski supplies store next to it, if you don't have equipment, you can rent it, and the ski resort is next to it, which is also very convenient.
