"The room and hotel are good, but the beds were very narrow and odd. For some reason, one side of the bed was elevated, and I felt like I was sleeping on a hill, constantly sliding down. This was the only inconvenient part, but the view from the window was beautiful."

"We highly recommend Marnie & Mister H which is owned by Marion, a very friendly and knowledgeable host who gave us plenty of information of things to see in Rennes and beyond. In addition, she is a great cook, during our stay she prepared home made pancakes and pear cake which was served in addition to an already generous breakfast of croissants, pain au chocolat, fruit, yoghurt, bread & jam, cheese & selection of cold meats. The location is excellent in the heart of the old town with so many facilities, sights, restaurants and shops as soon as you step out the door. We loved the atmosphere of the 15th/16th Century building with the old staircase and lovely dining room with the unique fireplace. Our room "Oscar" was very clean and the bed & pillows were so comfortable. All the rooms have names rather than numbers which is a nice touch. Our room overlooked a terrace area that guests can use and there was no noise at all, it is a nice quiet location but at the same time very central. We are already looking forward to going back next year. Thank you Marion"

"Lovely quiet budget hotel about a 10/15 min drive from the centre. Not super modern but has been very well maintained and has a bit of a charming old school feel about it. Decent sized, spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Lovely staff and good selection for breakfast. Recommend."

"Although the hotel rooms weren't large, the beds were very comfortable and the decor was cozy. My friend and I slept very well. It's also located in the city center, next to a supermarket (U Express), and very close to the Republique city center. I recommend trying the French pastry shop with the yellow awning in Republique, and there's also a delicious taco place. There are many good restaurants in Rennes."

"It's close to the bus stop, but it's far from the train station and in a neighborhood with poor safety, so I don't recommend checking in after dark. (There are no front desk staff at night.) The room was cleaned, but the building is old and the bathroom smelled strongly of mold. I inquired about a lost item, but received no reply."

"The location is excellent in the old city part, very close to my convention place with many restaurants nearby. The hotel building is old, with only one one-man elevator. The shower is very bad: a small tube just enough for one person standing. The water was small and the hot water was not hot enough. During my stay, the internet did not work. There were two nights with noisy party nearby until 2:00 am. The hotel is a 2.5 star than the 3-star hotel."
